Also, I thought they made Mephiles a bit too God-Like! He comes up with this really elaborate scheme where he tries to trick Shadow to into helping him, and Silver into killing Sonic, which is actually a really cool idea! But this scene pretty much ruins all that by showing that he clearly didn't need their help anyway!

This is not a rant against the character cos I do think he had some good qualities, but like almost everything in Sonic 06 they could've been done much better with more thought!

@Bowmaj21 The only way he managed to kill Sonic, was by using the emerald as a distraction. I don't think he would be able to beat him face to face.

It would have been much easier for him to use Shadow or Silver to kill Sonic.

It just makes Sonic look weak! If Mephiles was aiming at Elise and Sonic pushed her out of the way so he got hit instead of her, that would've at least made him look more heroic, and make Elise feel bad enough to make her cry!

Or heck, why couldn't they have actually had a Boss battle at that point, or a scene where they actually speak to each other? Ever noticed that Sonic, the main character, doesn't have a single conversation with the main villain?

Fans always praise Mephiles and call him the best Sonic Villain, but I'm not so sure!

I do sort of like his creepy personality and his manipulative nature, but he just seems to want to destroy the world for no apparent reason! He tries to convince Shadow to take vengence on the humans for how they treat him, but Mephiles himself doesn't have a reason to hate them!

At least with a villain like Black Doom, he clearly states that his motive is to harvest humans for sustenance!

@Bowmaj21 Mephiles' intent was never to destroy the world. His pure motivation was to join with Iblis. Everything he did was just for that. Mephiles just wanted Shadow to be his ally. Which is why he wanted him to take vengeance on humanity. He doesn't care about humans. He just wanted to manipulate Shadow.

Mephiles is actually very cowardly. He cannot best Shadow or Omega in face to face battle. He hides behind his legions of creature in battles.
