I may be crazy (ha ha ha), but I remember a slightly different trailer on TV for the first film, around 1977. Same visual, but the sound started off with a lullaby tune, then faded into a beating heart... as some guy whimpered "It's Alive... IT'S ALIVE! Don't see it alone... please!"
the music gave these shoddy horrors great class, almost hitchcock/debrian style, not surprising as same composer, great pieces of silliness made at the time of the demonic children craze of the mid seventies
The first time I saw this commercial was during an all night horror festival on our local tv network. I was about 10, it was 2 a.m., and I was the only one up. This is NO joke, we lived in the oldest house in town and it was the last house at the end of a dark dead end street. Old rumors abounded about the place and it really was a creeky, old, scary shack. Well, this spot came on the t.v. I can say that I it fucked me up something bad because I have never forgotten it or the fear it left in me.
@here4family I used to run up and mute the tv and shut my eyes....the first commercial was the only one I remember and it scared me to death. I had nightmares for weeks Well I finally saw the movie after 35 years and I have to say, "HAHAHAHAHA!" I will never be haunted by that baby again. Or will I???
something about the result of a side effect on some fertility drugs thats why the company was so eager to kill the baby, not because it killed people, just so they could cover their own asses.
These old horror movie trailers were so well done..in fact they're probably scarier than actual horror flicks of today.
These are almost as creepy as the 1978 Magic trailer.

I distinctly recall the TV ad for the original "It's Alive" making rounds in
the summer of '77. Probably a pre-sequel revival.

"There's only one thing wrong with the Davis baby - its alive". Funny.

The way the guy says his lines in "It Lives Again," it almost sounds like they dragged some guy in from off the street to read them.

Good post!
This commercial used to SCARE THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS outta me as a yungin'.
Doesn't look so scary now....
Dammit to the people in charge for not putting this ORIGINAL trailer on the "It's Alive" dvd.
It would be cool (imo) if horror movies that came out now did this type of trailer, instead of just showing clips from the movie.
