it doesn't matter if it's a dive. It's still a cross check - both hands on his stick and makes contact with an opponent, while no part of the stick is still on the ice at the point of contact. Actually happened twice in the first 4 seconds.

Right, Staal stretches out in full force with a cross check. The camera angle is awful here and it looks like he was out of his reach - he wasn't. And you can clearly see it about 45 seconds in.

Crosby has amazing skill and is a great player but his "I can get away with anything" attitude makes him completely unlikable in my opinion. I like hockey for hockey. I root for the Rangers because I've been grown up on them as many other hockey fans have on their teams but that doesn't mean that if a guy doesn't wear Blue that I can't admit to good plays.
Crosby has an excellent shot and play making abilities but he is also a cry baby and diver.

Crosby did embellish on this play. It was an awkward looking fall though. So Henrik comes over and likely called him on it. And then Crosby shows what terrible dicipline he has. He is an olympic gold medalist, and Stanley cup champion, and a captian, and he goes and cross-checks the goalie because he likely said no more then 10 words? C'mon man. The last couple years hes worked on faceoffs which he is one of the top in the league at. He worked on his shot and is now tied with Ovechkin so far this year at scoring goals. His defensive game gets better and better year after year. So id say he does a little more than just diving. Like it or not hes a great player and works hard to improve every year.
