Do you have to put it in dark area before harvest? Or is it ok to put them outside near the dish area?

Try using an Oxo salad spinner. Drop the sprouts in the spinner, with the colander portion inside. Add water. Lift the inner colader, hulls go through the spaces in the colander. Do that about 3 times. It's very quick, easy, and effective.
