That car is a beautiful work of art. It derserves more respect than it gets. When it first came out all the auto magazines hated it because it only had 130 hp and it cost about $7,000 more than the 1981 Corvette new. Delorean Motor Company is back in business under different management. They offer a suped up version of the original Volvo engine with 197 hp. 0-60 is estimated at just under 7seconds. Who cares what the citics think. The Delorean is one of the best cars ever built!
Best thing to do is get one from private sale. The new ones from DMC TX are great, but you get more bang for your buck from the private sale cars. My buddy bought his Delorean for 18k put another 2 grand in it and drives it every weekend.
One of the best cars ever built?! You really need to get out more! It was an unmitigated disaster, a badly-built slug of a car. If you like the design or rarity, that's fine, but don't claim it's one of the best cars ever built because that is clearly a ludicrous statement.
I sat in one a few weeks ago. It was AWESOME! it was very comfortable to sit in. It had a twin turbo engine and a custom exhaust. It had a deep growl noise to it.
The bond that exists between me and this car is purely emotional!
