  • 'at ain't Warren G... It's Bob James' "Sign of the times" ... De La ripped it long before "Warren 'G'" did!

  • CON ELEGANCIA Y CLASE DE LA SOUL YEAHHHHHH, BUENA MUSICA

  • Never really knew completely where Plug one was going with his ryhmes but the tracks straight smooth.

  • Looking for the text...uhaaaaaaaaaaaa...OldSchool RULES!!!!! ;))

  • This track samples Slave's "Just a Touch of Love".

  • 5 people must have been born in 2010.

  • 2nd best bassline of all time right behind "1-2-3" by Organized Konfusion

  • is there newish rap song with the same/similar music as the beginning of this song??

  • @callmemaurrrice Warren G- Regulate has a similar beat, if you listen to it you will be able to tell what I mean. It is a pretty old song though, from the 1990s, but it is still played on the radio a lot (especially if you live in Los Angeles because Warren G was a westcoast rapper)

  • @GetOffMyNutsac ha yea that was the song i was talking about! thanks brah

  • finally after 20 years i can hear this track again! tnx very much

  • boiler room!

  • sounds like warren g regulator's at da beggining

  • @evan916r ..YEAH HE USED IT TOO..IT'S REALLY BOB JAMES - SIGN OF THE TIMES..

  • Encountered De La Soul while watching some queen latifah videos, And im love with it.

  • I used to have this song on a craptastic tape I recorded off the radio, but they never announced the artist...and I'm from a small rural town in Ontario. Today I finally found out who did it...damn!! I remember EVERY word!

  • @potoroo THEY DO THAT A LOT. Good underground shit they never say who sang it.

  • I lost this album a year or so ago... been missing it ever since. nice post!

  • Warren G Regulate

  • The beat is Rock this way no ?

  • @daveboy75

sounds like the same pattern but maybe a different kit... that mute guitar is definitely from bob marley

  • @dyals No, both songs use the same sample though.

  • They should make an entire album with Prince Paul again.

  • @Siifter prince paul is god!

  • AWSOME !

  • I had forgotten just how damn good this was. Has it really been 20 fuckin' years?!?!

  • heh bob marley could you be loved sample also :)

  • The intro is from Bob James' Sign of The Times. Bob James was the composer for the Taxi (the TV show) theme.

  • Listen to Warren G's song called "Regulate." Both beats from "Regulate" and "Keepin' The Faith" sound almost identical.

  • @ElectricDoodie . dude, thats the first thing i thought when i heard this.

  • @ElectricDoodie - No way man. Prince Paul is so much better a producer, and this has a completely different feel to it, and to compare the 2 overall, this one is a masterpiece both production-wise and lyrically, while Warren G is as passe as they get.

  • @odrok Are you kidding me? "Regulate" is as classic as it can get.

  • @ElectricDoodie - No way man. Prince Paul is so much better a producer, and this has a completely different feel to it, and to compare the 2 overall, this one is a masterpiece both production-wise and lyrically, while Warren G is as passe as they get.

  • i used to love this track hell i still do

  • Sorry, what house/electro song is it from? I heard it about 10years ago and never heard it again. I want to find it.

  • @NoRCaL2OhNyNe It's not an electro house song. It is a disco funk song from the late 70's called "Just a Touch Of Love" by Slave.

  • @NoRCaL2OhNyNe The Third sample is the guitar riff from Bob Marley's Could You Be Loved.

  • @HaliB75 Thanks, but I found the song I had meant already. The song I was talking about is Jump by Buzzy Bus.

  • Where's the whistling part from?!

  • 2 people hate real rap and like listening to "nigga weed on my bitch

  • i'd forgotten how much i love this album and especially this track... 3 plays in a row- i'm guessing i ain't the only one either

  • The drums from Walk This Way the scratch from Beats To The Rhyme the guitar riff from Could You Be Loved and the bassline of Just a Touch of Love by Slave. And don't forget the "Champ" yelp from the Mohawks. Prince Paul did a masterful job on the sampling, almost as good as Saturdays.

  • Boiler room!

  • this uses the same sample that Warren G would use 3 years later in Regulators

  • This sample used in Das EFX's Shine too...:)

  • Pretty good song, incredible bass

  • There's a little Bob Marley in there too "Could You Be Loved"
