Your problem was that you go the Nyko Intercooler. The cooler fans actually take more power than the Power supply is designed for, that way it creates more heat than the fans are actually cooling. NYKO KILLS 360's!!!!!

just did this. put towels on it, let it run for 15 minutes, blow dryer it, let it cool down 5 minutes, turn on and heat up for 10 w/ blow dryer after 10 minutes.. video works, sometimes its distored but for a free fix its perfect.
don't do the towel!!! You'll damage other components of the xbox! My unit had the no video with audio problem after the GFX started to glitch. I sent it to microsoft for repair claiming the e74 error. It came back repaired without a hitch. What does this mean? You can send your unit in for this issue and it is covered under the RROD/e74 extended 3 year warranty as long as you CLAIM the e74 error!!

im having the same problem with a 360 im repairing right now i traced the problem back to the 360 power converter other wise known as the power brick replace that it will work fine make sure you get the right replacement for it or you will fry your 360 im still trying to find a way to fix the power converter myself
Just did this 20 minutes ago. Wrapped it up in 4 tshirts and it shut itself off after like 6-7 minutes. Turned it back on and I had video again!!! Shut it off and turned it back on, and it was a little fuzzy looking, cant really explain it. Shut it off, wrapped it up again for a few more minutes, and now its working perfectly. I now have 2 xbox 360's. I wish I knew this before I bought my new one last month. :(

just put a blanket over the xbox and let it run with a disk in it as video says for about a half hour..shut it off then run the blow dryer around the back for a little bit..turn it back on and...video is back!!

Wow thanks man, this really worked. Video cut out in the middle of GOW2, was ready to go out and buy a new 'box, and decided to try this as a last resort. First time it didn't work, I think the blow dryer actually helped cool it by moving air through there. The second time I just wrapped it up in blankets and let it run for like 25 minutes, turned it off and unwrapped it, waited about 15 more, and BAM! Effing awesome, even if temporary.
I found this out on my own about a month ago. I was actually attempting to get the RROD so i could get a free repair/refurbish. I had read about this problem online and decided not to call MS because they evidently store the problem in their computers so you cant call again. I just wrapped it in a blanket and all the sudden i had video again and freaked out. It sometimes freaks out the colors though. And it only worked for 3 days. But i did it again and it keeps working. Doing just a towel trick the thing would work long enough to boot into a game before screwing up. After seeing this vid I wrapped it in a towel until it gave 2 red lights to show it overheated, then pulled the power plug and ran the hair dryer on high into the back for 15 seconds and then some around the top and sides.

hell yeah u repaired mine in an hour yeah im super happy right now.
All i did was took all the acssesorie off
1)face plate
2)hardrive
Then took a bottle of air duster and applied it to all the holes on my xbox and in and hour woah lah fix
But i kept on turning on and of the xbox until picture showed now im happy.Hopes this helps some of you =D

just put a blanket over the xbox and let it run with a disk in it as video says for about a half hour..shut it off then run the blow dryer around the back for a little bit..turn it back on and...video is back!!

ty sooooooooooooo much ur trick worked like a charm. It was fixed in like ten minutes. rapped it for five then blew it dry for like two minutes. I turned it back on and is working fine ty very very much

oh i got the dots and i fixed it without putting towls or blankets over it just put hair dryer bye the dusty areas the reson the video didnt work is because of the dust built up in The component.

How long is this trick suppose to last? I just don't know if it's worth it anymore. I just bought a new Xbox360 today (2nd one). The video doesn't work. I'm just tired of getting stressed out and wasting money. I think I'm going to take the Xbox back, sell the games, and just by the PS3. Microsoft is a joke!

Wow thanks man, this really worked. Video cut out in the middle of GOW2, was ready to go out and buy a new 'box, and decided to try this as a last resort. First time it didn't work, I think the blow dryer actually helped cool it by moving air through there. The second time I just wrapped it up in blankets and let it run for like 25 minutes, turned it off and unwrapped it, waited about 15 more, and BAM! Effing awesome, even if temporary.

I found this out on my own about a month ago. I was actually attempting to get the RROD so i could get a free repair/refurbish. I had read about this problem online and decided not to call MS because they evidently store the problem in their computers so you cant call again. I just wrapped it in a blanket and all the sudden i had video again and freaked out. It sometimes freaks out the colors though. And it only worked for 3 days. But i did it again and it keeps working. Odd

Thanks dude my xbox had the exact same problem as yours and I tried this trick and it is working for now.
Doing just a towel trick the thing would work long enough to boot into a game before screwing up. After seeing this vid I wrapped it in a towel until it gave 2 red lights to show it overheated, then pulled the power plug and ran the hair dryer on high into the back for 15 seconds and then some around the top and sides.

I have to thatnk you! w just lost video and thought we where going to have to send it back to microsoft AGAIN. over the last 2 years.. we have gont through 5 diffrent systems dealing with everything from the red rings of death to the optical drive going... i was ready to chuck it at the wall when the video went out out of shear fustration.. then i founf your video.. it work on the first shot! i was amazed. thanks for everything!

i mean mine does the same, but ill ask you this. Did it work nonstop after that? and how many times did u have to do that compared for the amount of times you played? mine does the smae thing with the black screen and stars, but ill just leave it for a few hours and it'll work for a few hours on and off. when it works i can see video with waves of discolorization and the screen is fuzzy.

nah I am out of warranty, but haven't opened the thing, but it doesn't really matter. i tried your thing about 2 dozen times and it didn't work. i am actually going to open mine and my friends(which had red ring) and try and remove his g card and put mine in his then send his back with all the shitty parts. but thanks for the try. i guess it only works for some people.

kinda strange what happened to me tho. i did exactly what u did and then turned it on and the three rings of death came up! then the fan stopped running and the disk tray stopped working, all at once. then my friend moved a wire or two and then bam it worked, and we even moved it from tv to tv and it worked still. it was sweet. thanks a million

hi mate i trired my hardest to get rrod 4 a free repair but i couldnt soo this work for quiet a long time there is one Fake rrod when u move the power block lead around the connetion to make some sort of clickin noise but it didnt seem to stay p.s Plz dont blame me 4 anything else happening i mean come on im only 14 lol
