I do not understand the negative comments, Joe is explaining, in 10 minutes, how to dramatically improve the images for first time camera users. What is he saying that is not true or effective. Sure, a bunch of CLS slaves and modifiers, post processing and assistants holding reflectors would have been better but his simple suggestions make casual snap shots better. Nothing wrong that goal or result.
@sufiblade I agree natural would look better with post process, but in this case he only had pop-up flash creating horrible direct flash. If Joe had ONE SB-800 speed light (his bread and butter) , he would've created more of a dramatic photo without post. Available light is best, but photographers must know how to use flash because available light won't do.
@sufiblade But the purpose of these videos from Nikon is to show non-photographers how to take better snaps in camera not how to shoot in natural light and then have to learn post processing as well. Gotta start somewhere.
it dosnt look natural what you guys think?

The Nikon logo is there because these are videos that Nikon produced and owns.

Seriously, the image without flash looks way better. Just needs some post-processing !
