yeah my husband got one of these so he could chat with me online when he was a few states away for military training. I got a bill in the mail for 500 bucks, I told the company that it got stolen out of is hotel room so i didn't have to pay the 500 dollar bill . The bill was total BS, it was a lot more then they originally told us it would be.I suggest you do the same tell the it was stolen. Just one of the many nightmare stories I have with using sprint.

People do not realize that you are given so many megabytes to use (usually 5) and after that is used up, you are charged so much per kilobyte. Hopefully all goes well. (insert sarcasm here) Verizon did something similar to me, we had a "family plan" that said we could call 10 from ANY network for free... so we picked a plan with unlimited text messages, & 450 anytime minutes (suppose to be for the people that AREN'T a part of your top 10 people) cuz we don't call anyone except for those 10 Well they said screw you & charged us when we called someone from those 10 anyway so our bill was $400 more than it was SUPPOSE to be.
Verizon is right in a sense. Youtube 'STREAMS' data to your PC and depending on the length and quality of the videos your watching, the amount of data being sent to your PC can be/is huge. Even if there if no residual data on your PC, the data was sent and received by your PC. There is no real way to monitor data usage. 'Streaming' is a technique for transferring data such that it can be processed as a steady and continuous stream. Continuous data being received by your PC.
And because most people do not know this, Verizon should have made a courtesy call when it hit some lower dollar mark, to inform; how many people have twelve grand to spend on internet access?
The sales person must have not explained the internet browsing and data limitation. Although Youtube is not downloading it is streaming video. Still this is not your fault and you should take it to the highest authority and speak to the director of the Call Center and get the number to the Ceo's office. Verizon has screwed people over and thats why I left them because my bills were so damn high. Sprint business data plans are unlimited even youtube.
Thats why I cancelled them and went with Sprint. I love my service with them and my rates are so much cheaper. For what I have now I would easily spend like $120.00 or more with Verizon but I spend less than half that amount.

1) you need a cable with your wireless card because usually, your computer interferes with wireless signals. Therefor its a good idea to extend the card away from your pc. You are still completly wireless because the other end of the cable isnt attached to a fixed point.

Reason: The wireless part of the device denotes its ability to connect to at least one other device without the use of wires and not being itself completely free of wires. If you want to get super technical then yes, youtube does download... Oh wait, so does EVERYTHING you view online! EVERYTHING you view is downloaded, you'd be absolutely daft to think that it magically shows up and that it isn't downloaded. Downloading is such a generic cover it wouldn't hold up in court UNLESS they were smart enough to put definition behind it. Without seeing the contract clause it's impossible to tell who's at fault.
This is not the internet provider's fault, but completely your own. Just because you don't notice the downloaded files, doesn't mean YouTube doesn't download files to your computer. See, how YouTube works is that it downloads the video you want to view as a temporary file in your temporary directory, usually accessed by entering %temp% in a run or cmd window in Windows. The video is in fact DOWNLOADED to your computer, and I guess Verizon expects you to know that before using this internet card.

WOW! Good luck with your lawsuit. When I was a Verizon rep I explained how these cards work and how it can be a ripoff. People do not realize that you are given so many megabytes to use (usually 5) and after that is used up, you are charged so much per kilobyte. Hopefully all goes well. Your suit will take time and Verizon will put up a good fight. Stay strong!

I can't believe it! (insert sarcasm here) Verizon did something similar to me, we had a "family plan" that said we could call 10 from ANY network for free... so we picked a plan with unlimited text messages, & 450 anytime minutes (suppose to be for the people that AREN'T a part of your top 10 people) cuz we don't call anyone except for those 10 Well they said screw you & charged us when we called someone from those 10 anyway so our bill was $400 more than it was SUPPOSE to be.

Verizon is right in a sense. Youtube 'STREAMS' data to your PC and depending on the length and quality of the videos your watching, the amount of data being sent to your PC can be/is huge. Even if there if no residual data on your PC, the data was sent and received by your PC. There is no real way to monitor data usage. 'Streaming' is a technique for transferring data such that it can be processed as a steady and continuous stream. Continuous data being received by your PC.

The sales person must have not explained the internet browsing and data limitation. Although Youtube is not downloading it is streaming video. Still this is not your fault and you should take it to the highest authority and speak to the director of the Call Center and get the number to the Ceo's office. Verizon has screwed people over and thats why I left them because my bills were so damn high. Sprint business data plans are unlimited even youtube.

Thats why I cancelled them and went with Sprint. I love my service with them and my rates are so much cheaper. For what I have now I would easily spend like $120.00 or more with Verizon but I spend less than half that amount.

When you activated your card you were agreeing to the Terms and Conditions - all that paperwork they gave you? Oh you didn't get it? It's on the website - I'm not saying that you should have to pay that bill because it's ridiculous... but you should've been smart and known what you were getting yourself into. All cell phone companies put you under a contract, unless you bought the card for full price... so if you are under contract you should have taken it upon yourself to read said contract.

Verizon is a bunch of crooks. I use thier cell phone service because its the best by far. However I had their home phone back in the day...and I know they are crooks. Thats why FIOS and Verizon TV is doing so terrible. Never trust verizon when it comes to the internet...their way of charging is very similar to landline phone plans from the 1990's and back. In conclussion Verizon is only good for cell phone service. Everything else is a load of crap.

1. Im sure the sales rep explained to you how it works and the fact that you cannot use any video websites, but you are a stupid and ignorant customer and did not heed the warnings, and still used the wireless card to post your stupid and pointless videos.
2.Some laptops have a hard-to-get-to USB port therefore you need an extender. It is still wireless.

1) you need a cable with your wireless card because usually, your computer interferes with wireless signals. Therefor its a good idea to extend the card away from your pc. You are still completly wireless because the other end of the cable isnt attached to a fixed point.
2) We all herd horror storries about about Verizon. but their bills has nothing to do with any use of a wire or not.

yep got me an iphone got me t-mobile sim unlim internet sms and a good amount of minutes that i constanty check and best of all thanx to hacked iphone I get a special think instead of that card u have called "teathering" and this I got for free YEP FREE no need to wait for at&t to cetch up and it works on t-mobile 4 free which I again thank hackerz 4 ;-) ohh and my dad just got a 500 dollar bill from verizon haha but I got out of Verizon to get iphone and pay my own bills with T-mobile !!

Reason: The wireless part of the device denotes its ability to connect to at least one other device without the use of wires and not being itself completely free of wires. For example my "Wireless Router" needs wires to connect to the physical network that my ISP provides. But it communicates wirelessly to my computer. The card in question communicates to the ISP wirelessly, the reason it has an antenna.. Don't get me wrong, I sympathize, I really do.

When you go to YouTube (Whether via phone or computer) you are BOTH on the internet AND downloading. Your computer (or phone) must communicate with the site and then download the information. If this is how they quote it then they are seriously misleading the consumers.

If you want to get super technical then yes, youtube does download... Oh wait, so does EVERYTHING you view online! EVERYTHING you view is downloaded, you'd be absolutely daft to think that it magically shows up and that it isn't downloaded. Downloading is such a generic cover it wouldn't hold up in court UNLESS they were smart enough to put definition behind it. Without seeing the contract clause it's impossible to tell who's at fault.

This is not the internet provider's fault, but completely your own. Just because you don't notice the downloaded files, doesn't mean YouTube doesn't download files to your computer. See, how YouTube works is that it downloads the video you want to view as a temporary file in your temporary directory, usually accessed by entering %temp% in a run or cmd window in Windows. The video is in fact DOWNLOADED to your computer, and I guess Verizon expects you to know that before using this internet card.
