I admire Groban's refusal to treat any song as though it is there merely to be made "his own." Instead, he lets his voice satisfy the requirements of the song. The difference is intelligent interpretation versus egotistical self-expression. Gifted singer, beautiful song.
"Thankful" is one of my very favorite songs from the Noel cd. Ms. Bayer-Sager, even though thank you seems so inadequate, I do indeed thank you and David Foster for penning this incredible song. And thank you for allowing Josh to sing it... he is the perfect choice. I hope this becomes a "holiday classic" played year after year.
Listening to this song made me stop and think about what my priorities are and how I look at and treat others. I have to admit I felt a little ashamed of myself.
