whats the trick in soldering the pins that are small and give you very very little space?

My solder doesn't do that it doesn't stick by a tap I have to hold it and if I do it melts off and I have to seperate them

flux is a chemical that keeps oxides from forming on metals and helps with the "wetting" action of solder. Most solder has a flux core in it already and it without it, it would be very hard to solder without it.
