WOW!! This takes me way back to my early years of being saved. I love this album. Thanks for putting it out there. Please, Please put the song, I'M COMING HOME, out here PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!
So good to find these songs..I actually went to the church in Houston that Shirley Joiner was minister of music at..Outreach Baptist Church..Great times even as a teenager for me.. Not sure if many of you know but Sis Joiner passed away about a year ago..But I'm sure her music still lives on..from proof of this post..
Oh my god. I remember Shirley and Carl as they directed this phenomenal choir to the peak of praise. I remember seeing them live on several occasions. They bless me then and are still blessing me today. Thanks for the posting.
This is absolutely amazing. Southeast Inspirational was one of my favorite choirs growing up, and now hearing this stuff years later makes me realize how far ahead of their time they were.
This is also my absolute favorite hymn! (I love hymns). Johnzoe777, thank you SO much for posting this.
I would like to think that we don't hear this type of singing as often anymore because many of the directors have gone on to thier reward and this kind of singing is not a walk in the park. I sang with a choir that sang this very song among many other great hymns and classics and those rehersals were hours upon hours long but we enjoyed it and the love of the music was sincere. I listen to the new stuff but would take the old over it anyday. Perhaps many directors today can' t teach such songs
@iluvdorinda you are so right about that. To me the Gospel Music Choir has somewhat lost it's way. Not all the way just somewhat. I want an traditional Gospel Choir back with the traditional choir robes or matching clothes and a sound so dynamic and right on. We need to draw our yound ones and teenagers back into the church and the church Choir. And them we need to bring someof this OLD TYME Gospel music back and reintroduce it back into the fray and get it going again
I was never a DJ.When I was about 14 years my mother gave a choice to join the usher board or the choir in our church I choose to join the choir and ever since I fell in love with gosple musicI started buying album since I was 14 years old and now I'm 47,the music today has change so much,I listen to old school more than anything.
This was an Amazing recording and this is my favorite song by them..... I love this hymn..the words are so profound...Just to be close to Jesus makes such a difference......This entire record brings back great memories of growing up in church.... thanks for posting....
I don't think so,when I give up the ghost they are all going with me LOL :)My borther I love my old school record.I can't believe I kept them some 30 years I gave some away, but know I regret that.I was young and foolish LOL

Wow!!!! I had all of this stuff. Tri-City Singers used to sing lots of these numbers back in the 80's. I love this stuff.
