Wow this just makes me die a little in the inside. Taeyeon ruined a song that is very important to me. Clearly she doesn't understand the emotions behind this song and this reflects in her singing. She is only in this for the money. Sure, she is hitting the notes right, but there is more to music than just that.
And @ the people defending her: Lip syncing is totally unacceptable; it just goes to shows the type of person she really is. No excuses, there are lots of honest singers that are busy.

A month ago, I was looking for Way Back Into Love from the film Music and lyrics and came across the version with Taeyeon and Jessica singing. I was very impressed by this version. Since then, I've become a huge fan of SNSD and all their members. Being English, I don't speak or understand Korean but this song is beautiful as is Taeyeon and her voice.

I like how they still put "lalalala with you". I am a YUI fan and I find Taeyeon's version REALLY GOOD. Her voice is controlled. :) Idol's individual talents should be shown more.

Well, Taeyeon is one of singers who is being under appreciated just because she is in a idol group. She certainly has the potential to become one of the best Korean female singers in the future.
for me both versions are good....but i gotta give my vote to taeyeon...undoubtedly she has a more powerful voice than yui and can take on a lot of different song concepts...yui's voice on the other hand has more of a rocker chick type of voice, but still good though none the less....but my vote still goes to taeyeon

@Natsukinon She's not terrible, but she voice doesn't "wow" me. Sometimes, it sounds more like shouting than actual singing. She can sound like a kid as well. Also, she lacks vibrato. All singers in my opinion should at least know how to sing with vibrato.

@rage1one No, the song doesn't suit Taeng as much as YUI. YUI's voice is high pitched and the song as lots of high pitched notes. Taeng can sing those notes, but it doesn't suit her voice as much. Jessica and Sunny would have probably sang it better because they are both natural with high pitched notes. I do think that Taeyeon was incredibly tired as well. I think she was doing the musical, hosting Win Win and promoting RDR in the same time.

Fisrt, because she's not used to it.And Second, because singing and dancing are two different actions lets say, and for both of them you need a certain amount of air so you don't pass out, if you don't know how to control your breathing then Of course you're voice would change. Try singing after running just a little and you'll understand. Is simple logic.

@yeshafrancisco yes, and I used to be Yui's fan until I heard her in live... Ok, she is not be that bad (not as Aya Hirano, of course NOT) but she's not great either. If I apreciate Taeyeon is because I've heard her singing live (like I said). She sings pretty well, not an amazing singer because there are better singers that her (Sistar Hyorin, even if I don't like her, I have to admit she sings better)
and if you compare Yui and Taeyeon, Taeyeon is better. that's it

@harrypotterfreakish yes, yes, so plastic that mades Barbie look real, I know. But how does that affects her talent? and yes, of course I hear that she IS lipsinging this song. But I'm talking in general.... and after listening to her version an Yui's version; i have to say I prefer Yui's because it suits her voice. taeyeon's voice is a bit deeper so it kinda sounds wrong.... However, I still believe Taeyeon's better singer than Yui.

@chenlucy0727 I tried to convince myself of that, but I can tell when someone is lipsinging or not. Even if I'm a fan I aknowledge that. I like her and that's not going to change, but I'm not a blind neither deaf fan.

I can also accept if she is lipsinging~ but the truth is she's not lipsinging here.. musical is not a show that can let you lipsinging... you can go to search fancam.. you can hear her voice clearly through those fancams... many broadcast program in korea.. they'll add sounds into their voice to make the voice more strong... I saw many fancams and even listen to the records... her voice not always good in every perf

@Natsukinon you can go to korean site search for that and i can tell you if she is really lipsinging in the musical then must has news about it maybe this version make you feel she's lipsinging but at the real show she didn't that's why after her show in korea amounts of korean media and many musicians are all praising her live singing skill and power those who be chosen for musical are all because their live singing skill are good. if musical can let you lipsing that must be scolded

@rage1one No, the song doesn't suit Taeng as much as YUI. YUI's voice is high pitched and the song as lots of high pitched notes. Taeng can sing those notes, but it doesn't suit her voice as much. Jessica and Sunny would have probably sang it better because they are both natural with high pitched notes. I do think that Taeyeon was incredibly tired as well. I think she was doing the musical, hosting Win Win and promoting RDR in the same time.

@alterna I absolutly agree with you. is like comparing a soprano with a tenor (not that they are, of course) but you can't ask a Tenor to sing the song of a soprano, that we have always heard in a soprano and want it to be exactly the same... it would sound weird...

Personally, the movie, Taiyou No Uta is what motivated me to play the guitar. I hope this musical gives more attention to the original movie, and to the drama.

@Novasingularity she can sing a variety of genres with her wonderful voice ex. ballads, dance, trot, pop... also, she can dance. and right now she's improving on her acting, it's very natural. and she's very pretty. idk but i think she has potential to be successful solo but like what theminilemon said, we don't kno until she actually becomes one.

Definently an incredible singer, won't be surprised if she crosses over the pacific more often and make more of an impact as a solo artist rather its soft rock/alt. rock when she decides to move on from SNSD.

Also, you'd make tons of people miserable with her departure from SoShi.
No doubt, she'd do good as a solo but she does best with her group, IMHO anyways.
And she gets all the high parts in the songs, all the great parts, has the most solo's anyways, so I think SME recognizes her talent already.

Taeyeon's vocal is wasted in SNSD. Songs like "gee" "oh" and "hoot" are just ridiculous. If SME lets her release a solo album then I will stop complaining even if she still stays in snsd.

I'm sure she has more than 3.
Her singing talent is already known way more than a lot of other main vocals in other groups.
Can You Hear Me, If, Byul, You Bring Me Joy, Like A Star, I Love You all these have received lots of praise.
Everybody knows of her talent.
And if she did a solo album, do you think it'd be fair to all the other members? There are some other members who are underexposed and this would make it worse. And she's in a pop group so I don't see how it's ridiculous.

this isn't even about fairness. Taeyeon's got a great voice, why can't she release a solo album?????? Other girl group members have done it, are their members complaining? Why should it be different when it comes to snsd? it's just up to sm to give her an album.

In fact Taeyeon gets it even better than most other lead vocals of other girl groups. People recognize her talent, I'm sorry if you didn't realise it but if you watched more SoShi related videos, you'd see how much people mention about her singing. Whenever a song has her singing about it, it gains big news and high expectations. Taeyeon gets A LOT of attention compared to most others.

It is entirely possible that all the other members will be getting solo albums as well. Like with BigBang, each member got their moment of fame.
It just isn't that easy with a 9member group.
