  • they could not get the end of the movie to make sense b/c they spent too much on the titles

  • Im very confused! Eon Productions has copyrights over James Bond. So were did these people come from?

  • @9luckycharm111 Things can get VERY complicated in the film business, but basically, several groups showed interest in making films based around the character of James Bond, or of the actual books. Please note that none of the EON films up to the new Casino Royale bore much resemblence to the book they were named after. The 1967 C.R. was optioned by a different consortium and they did manage to get some of the books storyline into it.

  • @9luckycharm111 Addendum. If you think the C.R situation is odd, try getting your head around the the legal, creative and other contortions that resulted in the Thunderball/Never Say Never Again situation. All I will say about that is that I'm amazed it only resulted in one extra film.

  • who played Bond in this film? George Lazenby or Roger Moore or Sean Connery?

  • @9luckycharm111 David Niven.

  • Someone once described it as 'The worst film I ever enjoyed' ,and I agree!

Such fun and so silly with great music. Had a lot of style in the anarchy, very much of its time. And for a wet wintertime sunday afternoon when you are feeling a tad down...it can't be beat. Turn on the telly and enjoy! Don't analyse, its just for entertainment - It's not high art,but if you can't find something in it that makes you smile then maybe you need to see a funeral director.

  • バートバカラック

  • The mess is what makes it awesome, though admittedly if it had no ties to bond I probably would have never seen it...

  • I am going to admit right off the bat that I am biased in favor of this film because I grew up in the 70's and early 80's watching it on local television in Detroit. Certainly nobody can deny that structurally it is a mess. The plot is all over the place and the actors are constantly winking at the audience. It's a spoof of Bond films and while admittedly it is not hysterically funny, I think it's amusing on several music. And I agree that the music is great. It's a very 60's movie. Enjoy it.

  • bon film , bonne musique, bon acteur que demander de mieux

  • Groovy music Burt !!!

  • @lsmoulton oh yeah

  • @chaeliejean

    Merci !!!

  • This is one of my favorite songs of all times. Was the movie great? No. Was the acting great? No. But it was a fun movie, and a great opening song.

  • Good Lord, Ransom isn't it..?

AOK, Sir James, CIC at CIA..

  • I think Peter Sellers didn't get on with Orson Welles at all and walked out of the film. As a result, key scenes are missing which is why it doesn't stitch together very well. But hey, what a collection of talent and what fun they seemed to have had. What an incredible tune too.... :)

  • @KevinByrne2 I agree. The music was the best part of the film.

  • "Eat your heart out, Austin Powers! AA HAAA HAAA HAAA!"

    Love, Dr. Evil

  • Respectfully diagree w/Kevin re: the movie, but concur about the credits. And, of course, the wonderful theme.

  • This music IS the 60's for me.

  • Great music, lousy movie. It was a confused and confusing mess, full of very weak humor. Complete waste of many talented people's time. The best parts of the film were the credits. (Thanks for posting them.)

  • @KevinByrne2

Yes and no to this being confusing and weak. That was what was known as camp. See the movies "It's a Happening or Lord Love a Duck". This style was greatly influenced by British humor with some psychodelics thrown in.
