awww, ALL so gooooood and thank you for posting. and Jane Russell would play Juliette Lewis' role in "Natural Born Killers" - what a stunningly dangerous woman she was!
"Amico Mio" You've done a superb job of putting clips together from some rather seemingly disperate movies! I grew up "Amico Mio", with a Mother who maintains a "Classic" movie library numbering over 15k titles at her home in Southern California! For over 20yrs she collected movies exclusively made from between 1929-1949! She of coarse has expanded the collection to include other "Greats" over the years! We should "talk" !
This video is really a fantastic job. I like the clips, much better than if you just had a bunch of images. You found some great pictures though, you think you could give me the link to that Ingrid Bergman one, or tell me where you found it?
So many Joans... Joan Fontaine is my favorite of them. How much I love Ingrid's smile! OMG *-* Well, I have my favorite actresses, but I must say that I love this video. Liz Taylor may smile everytime someone watch this and remember her. All them may do it. We're lucky that some of them are still alive. Joan and Olivia are special women. I wish Vivien and the others could stay here, too. ♥ Sorry for my TERRIBLE English. Wonderful actresses, beautiful women and great video!
wow...lovely; a great montage of class actresses you put together.Thank you.
One looks at these ladies & can sort of understand why visual beauty is so highly rated. I still say beauty begins from the inside out.
My thoughts are with Dame ♥ Elizabeth, the last of the Golden Ladies, who succeeded in flourishing as such a giving lady despite the tragedy, illness & pain that she experienced in her life.
@cawobeth No.. she wasn't the last Golden Lady.. There's still Joan Fortaine, Olivia De Havilland, Shirley Temple, Lauren Bacall, and Maureen O'Hara... and I bet someone more too that I can't remember for now
@mimzy84 You are so right. I thought of Lauren Bacall & Shirley Temple... That's what I get for quoting media (which I should very well know is not a good thing to do) Maybe you mean Jan Miner (I looked in Wiki). I'm glad that you replied to my incorrect comment. ♥
This video made me cry! Seriously! Great job, dear. You mispelled "Monroe" and "Katharine" Hepburn, but it's all right, it's a gorgeous tribute, anyway! <3
I noticed Susan Hayward is in this. I just bought some of her movies off of lovingtheclassics. If you are interested google it (lovingtheclassics) and you will find her actual movies and more.
Great job! You got them all. Another two who weren't front-runners but who were supporters in many many pictures were Agnes Moorehead and Elsa Lanchester.
Amazing video! Idk if you put her but the woman who played Vera Claythorne in the 1945 version of And Then There Were None was really amazing too :] What are the songs?
This was an excellent Montage of some of the greatest actresses ever. Ty. I being a fanatical lover of red-heads wished you would have put more than 4 in there but they were among the Best Hayworth, O'Hara. Hayward , and Kerr. Lucy was a natural blond. I sure would have loved to seen Arlene Dahl, Rhonda Fleming, Jeanne Crain and Ann-Margret. Oh well ,like you said you couldn't get them all. I'll give you a 4 for giving it a great try.
I've read several bio's and they all said she was a natural blond , but who cares ? The real fans know she wasn't a natural red and that's the main point here.
Actresses are all so generic now, that's why there aren't many like this now, very skinny too. Actresses then had curves, they looked like real women. When you eat your lips are lucious looking and you have bright eyes.
I also want to thank you for including the following stars: Ginger Rogers, Ros Russell, Yvonne Di Carlo, Catherine Hepburn, Lucille ball, Eve Arden, Anne Miller, Myrna Loy, Betty Davis, Joan Blondell, Ingrid Bergman, May West, Joan Bennett, Barbara Stanwyck, Joan fontaine, Olivia dehaviland, Gene Harlow, Irene Dunn, Claudette Colbert, Judy Garland and all the others, it was a moving tribute, thank' s !
I have to say this tribute was very moving, I am a lover of the golden age of cinema, I am only 43, yet I grew up watching these screen legends because of my parents. You have featured just about every notable screen personality from this era, an era in which we will never see come again in this life time, or any other!
Quote: " I couldn't possibly get everyone in it, but I got as many as I could." Who did you miss from that era? There's 58 of the most beautiful and talented women that ever grace the silver screen in 8:00 minutes. Thank you for including Joan Blondell and Yvonne De Carlo. And the music is perfect! Applause BitterSweetTxo.*****
You're showing a clip from STAGE DOOR where Oscar-nominated ANDREA LEEDS is going up the steps to jump off the roof; she commits suicide after losing a coveted role to Katharine Hepburn in that one.
Some of my friends just don't get "IT". I tell them "IT" is the mystery & the beautiful glamour that our classic faves possessed. And we will NEVER see it again.
LOVELY video and songs...THANKS:D
p.s. Im adding a few Sarah McLachlan's cds to my collection.
Joan Fontaine, Gene Tierney, Judy Garland, Hedy Lamarr, Ingrid Bergman, Olivia de Havilland, and Vivien Leigh, Joan Crawford, and Marilyn Monroe were my favorites! :)
That was a beautiful tribute. I kept trying to think of someone you might have forgotten, but it seems you had everyone of that era. It's a shame those days are gone. Sarah McLachlan was a perfect companion piece for the music. Bravo!
Aw, this video really shows how many wonderful and inimitable ladies of the silver screen there were, in a relatively short period in time (: Great job!
Don't feel bad. I have watched this like 80 times, it puts me in a great mood. I get the most excited when it comes to Ginger Rogers-she is the greatest in my opinion. Love Ava Gardner also.
Wow all of the actresses I love were included! Joan Fontaine, Gene Tierney, Judy Garland, Hedy Lamarr, Ingrid Bergman, Olivia de Havilland, and Vivien Leigh! The only actress I love that was left out is Judith Anderson, but she's often overlooked because she wasn'tr considered "cute" or "beautiful". Very talented actress, however. Especially as Mrs. Danvers in Rebecca!
great tribute!! and you included all my favorites - unforgettable irene dunne, ingrid bergman, grace kelly, greer garson, maureen o'hara and joan fontaine.. thank you!
Oh that was just gorgeous! You chose such stunning photos and included all my favourite actresses! I was amazed Miriam Hopkins got a mention! She is sadly looked over too many times. The photo you chose of Bette is my icon at the moment! Thank you so much, this is beautiful and going straight into my favourites!

#1. You don't have an order which is great because their all beautiful and you cannot say one is prettier than the other because they are all pretty!
#2. You included all of America's Favorite Ladies.
#3.The song sets a very swell mood.
#4.Its organized -You mentioned their name in order which is helpful.
#5. Very good quality!
