  • I used to go skating at Streatham rink in early 60's, on a Saturday evening when they often had a live group, seen many top 60's groups perform there, resturant upstairs

really packed everywhere, I used to go on for the 10 mins ladies speed skating session, the place to be :))

  • I skated at Streatham nearly 30 years ago, & I skate at Streatham now with my kids. It's a crime that this place is closing down - and it seems less and less likely that Tesco are going to keep their promise to replace it.

  • How sad to hear that Streatham is under threat and will probably close down. I watched both my brothers Tommy Loughran and Eddie Loughran speed skate here in the 60s and early 70s. It was indeed as Diane and Roland said, a beautiful lively place to be. I would get up at stupid o'clock to go with Tommy on the back of his pushbike to skate on a sunday morning. Instead of losing this wonderful piece of history we should be restoring it for future generations to enjoy. If i ever win the lottery.....
