Had I not seen her perform here and been blown away by that beautiful woman with a powerful voice....I wouldn't have went on youtube that same night and looked for videos of her to hear her sing some more, her and her sisters. @babyluv013 It's not even that, honestly. He has a rare voice type, a very strong one. He's like me, except mine is even worse. And so here I am with decades worth of skill and talent in singing/vocals all buried away by my voice type. If you want to hear Kirk at his best singing, you will need to find him singing when he was younger, because his voice type has gotten stronger with age which is normal for everyone. Therefore he does not even position himself as a "singer". Neither do I anymore
Kim Burrell wins this one...her precision is on point. No offense to Karen or Yolanda but I just get tired of all that screeching and growling. Kim's voice is distinct and her ear is just not on this planet

What I appreciate is that these artist find no need to change their vocal styling just because they are on BET. the thing that people fail to realize, is that Karen is a soprano, and has like a 4 octave voice, of course you would hear her over manypeople she sing with, it dont mean that she is tring to compete, and this song built to a climax, so was she suppose to sit there and just whispers...lol some of the people sound dumb, that is why kim started it out, and ended it, becuase she does not have power, but karen has power, runs, growls....etc

@khalon patti 5 octaves?? no chance! mariah has those whistle notes, but patti's highest note was like f6, so even if she could go as low as c3, it gives us 3.5 octaves. i know she said 5 octaves when she broke this glass but it ain't true

@pune37tAnG, Karen CLEARLY has and has had more range than Whitney ever had. I think Whitney had 4 and Karen and Mariah 5. Karen can hit notes mariah whistled in full voice. Let's not count out that fact that Karen doesn't really use her falsetto much and we haven't heard her do whistle notes. But ok gotcha!

It simply means that Karen is able to go a few notes higher in natural voice, which is all the same anyways seeing as how she naturally is a pure Soprano, while Whitney is not!! Remeber the sum total of range is not depended on one particular register-High-or-Low..it's all inclusive!!

What I appreciate is that these artist find no need to change their vocal styling just because they are on BET. Karen gave you Karen-riffs and all, Kim gave you Kim-runs and all and etc. When Ludacris, Lady Gaga or them get on stage you KNOW what you are about to get. I would like to say thank you to these artist(Karen, Marvin, Kim etc.) As Karen would say sing like it's your last time!!! BUST IT WIDE OPEN.

there was no battle in this at all....even when karen backs off...(like she clearly did in this ), her gift still seems to intimidate other singer's fans for some reason....everybody clearly got their shine on...karen has almost, unmatched range...so of course that will stand out whenever she delivers

I read on Richard Smallwoods twitter page sunday nite where he stated to the people to stop knit-picking and be thankful for platform God gave to the gospel artist this night. Just enjoy the vid or move on. These artist do have great respect for one another. They did a great job!!!

Karen barely sung at all in this performance. She sung her part at the beginning and then at the end. While the others were alibiing throughout the performance.

@Eddtv1 negative!!! there is no battle in this at all. maybe you should go to my channel and see the clear version. yolanda was stuggling to get notes out. karen was back in the cut not doing much at all. she did what was necessary for her part then backed off.... besides there is no battle between karen and yolanda. karen clearly has that summed up.
