  • Haha, thank you doctor and assistant.

  • it took me a whole lot of trial and error to finally find a way for me to screen print

  • No sirves para trabajar en este Jale compa

  • Neat. I print too!

  • lets see pete naked next time....

  • ALWAYS be quick with emulsion, and always put a lid on it. You can actually pour it back into the container and use it again if it doesn't get exposed.

  • I think it's hilarious that you all think he was being serious about the sun thing, and the French translations. Chill out, it's humor.

  • For awesome photos on canvas look at fetchthings.etsy.com

  • peter is quite attractive, just sayin.

  • PhotoEZ would be easier, and is great for DIY.

  • 4:14 transparency falls out of screen xD

  • That's why I love Etsy!

Not overly business like, they have fun with it XD

  • "The word 'squeegee' is French for movement."

    No, it's not.

  • "Wear goggles"

  • okay ppl...obviously this guy was JOKING! thinking he was being serious...well you know what they say about it taking one to know one.

  • 320 not 300

  • hahah this is perfect in texas! with the sun burning...

  • who's the dumb ASS?? DUSENT is spelled doesn't!

  • Hey guys! Enter a free tee shirt art contest and win custom printed shirts, hinge clamps and more. Visit my channel page to watch the video about all the details and how to enter!

  • Man I can’t get over this video. It’s fun to watch and gets so many views. Check out my videos for tutorials on screen printing and heat transferring tee shirts. Questions welcome.

  • inexpensive materials? this is very expensive....

  • @v0lquete

if you make your own and shop around it can work out cheap, i hear there are cheaper materials you an use for emulsion.

  • Funny and helpful,thanks!

  • Great How To Vid. Thanks.

  • bourgeoisink . com/shop

  • Excellent video! Expert advice! You should upload your video to Ewisdomtv

  • the sun rotates arounf the earth????

  • not funny faggot

  • That is a fun video. Matt is cool. The other video he has with the wolf shirt gets mad views. And tons of comments! Check out my videos for explanations of the screen printing process. Questions welcome.

  • Fail. The sun doesn't rotate around the Earth.

  • what you say at :46 ? photo emotion?

  • @LaLokPR photo emulsion

  • Hey you lost your transparency on the roof at 4:13

  • if your printing with plastisol inks cure at 320 not 300

  • Thanks guys. Great Job. post some more tips soon.

  • What is that music they play in the beginning? Its nice.

  • fucking dum ass the sun dusent rotate arown the earth 1:18

  • @XxxxXxxTOXICxxXxxxX :p You didn't spell "doesn't" correctly. And he's trying to teach people...

  • i know he is im just jk

  • @XxxxXxxTOXICxxXxxxX get your facts straight asshole because the sun does too rotate around us.

  • @neildavid go get an education.

  • @neildavid go to school dude, we rotate around the sun, not the other way around

  • @XxxxXxxTOXICxxXxxxX well, if you LOOK at it, it does. lol

  • @XxxxXxxTOXICxxXxxxX

    ever heard of sarcasm?

  • and 300 degrees F isn't 6000 degrees Kelvin either, which is what makes it FUNNY...

  • do you burn the image on the top (inside) or bottom (outside) of the screen? from this video it looks like it's the bottom but i'm not sure.

  • instead of using the unpredictable sun to burn you should have used a flood light. hell you have already splurged on getting all the crap you needed why not spend another 20-50 bucks for a reliable burner.

  • Great video taught me a lot i got my own stuff and gave it a shot but i had a rude awakening and found that it is a lit harder than it looks. I now have about $150 of stuff in the basement including a screen with a fist hole through it. I will still get back on the horse and try again. People be careful of what you are getting into if your not committed to this then don't even bother.

  • @mikedasgerman I like your style

  • This is a fun video to watch! Good stuff. Check out my videos for tutorials on screen printing and heat transferring tee shirts. Questions welcome.

  • THANK YOU so fuken MUCH!!! I've been looking around the net to find this kind of tutorial. This video is the first one I found.

  • lol helpul and funny..

but one thing i need to know be4 i attempt this...how do you get your design onto the transparent film in black?

  • Photo copy your template onto an overhead projector transparency.

  • you can just print it off of a printer using jet black, or if you could just draw on the transparencies with black or red marker (red actually works better, its completely opaque) or anything else you want to try to draw with, have fun, try new things : D

  • lol what a funny how to, 237th floor, 6000 deg kelvin, sun revolves around the earth. I wonder if many people caught that, plus i learned the basics of screen printing!

  • Ooh yeah, does it need to be glass or can I use plexiglass ?

  • Yes you can use Plexiglas it is only to hold your film in place glass is use mostly because it is heavier

  • I prefer digital printing to screen printing.

  • oh! I didn't know you could just expose it to the sun. i did a screenprinting workshop where there was the whole dark room and uv light machine thingy. didn't realise I could achieve the same thing from home!..

  • Best is a hallogeenlamp of uv light

so expose is alwas same and than you can make it yourself with a couple of uv lamps in a box an than simpley place the screen above it, or with a lamp obove you screen

  • Amazing video! I'm not sure i get it, what is the heat of the sun (4:11) doing to the emulsion actually? How is it possilble the part which was covered can be cleaned with water?

  • kornelk - the emulsion is cured by the sun the dark ink of the design blocks the sun and the emulsion doesn't harden allowing it to be washed away

  • pretty cool video, easy to follow and straight to the point, cheers! x

  • what a cute video. :)

  • I like the intro... very Kermit the frog News Flashy. Talking and "not knowing" the camera was already rolling. LOL.

  • I have a state of the art Dark Room he he he....

  • can i do this on a hoodie?

  • You can screen print on anything so long as it can't move

  • the sun doesn't rotate around the earth, the earth rotates around the sun. GREAT VIDEO THOUGH!

  • Lol... I caught that too

  • lol great video!!! Thanks!! I LOVE ETSY!!!

  • Good video and tutorial.:)

  • ahaha "This may take a second cos it's goopy like a caramel" made me giggle way too much

  • OHH HI i didnt see you standing there.

  • can you make multiple prints with out having to wash the screen?

  • Yes, as long as you use the same color. If you want to change colors then you have to rinse the screen with water before changing ink colors.

  • can you reuse the screen to create a new design?

  • After you settle the emulsion, you can purchase emulsion remover but it can be pretty difficult sometimes to get it perfectly clean for the next design to go on.

  • I think there's emulsion remover that you can buy to do that.

  • Thanks for the advice and helpful/entertaining video, but I should inform you the earth actually revolves around the sun, not vise versa.

  • Thats pretty cool. Nice video. Check out my videos for tutorials on screen printing tee shirts. Questions welcome.

  • nice way of presentation...huhu

  • Ha - genius vid... same question as below - I think you can use 'pregasol' to rinse off the emulsion is this correct?

  • Quick question:

Can you re-use the mesh screen?

  • love it!

  • silly silly silly, squeegee isn't french for "movement" OR "checkmate"

  • This has kind of a Wes Anderson vibe to it. Did I mention I love Wes Anderson? Especially Rushmore. Now I want to watch Rushmore.

  • somthings wrong with me i didnt get it...

  • Foolish sinners! do you not know that the Earth is the center of the universe? lol! We learned that in the second semester at my Amish home school. Lol! Everybody knows that! lol! I can't stop L(ing)OL!

  • nice, very helpful and entertaining

and everyone, we all know the earth rotates around the sun; he was joking for goodness sake

  • lol 3:11

  • i dont have that last thing......

hmmmm i think my father told me well be getting one for my birthday

    lol

  • good video. the sun definitely doesn't revolve around earth though

  • nuh uh

  • i dont know about these dumbass people trying to argu on the little things that the guys is saying, but the video explain more better then the other videos. in the other vids you have to watch like 8 vids jus to understand

  • he meant don't tell your wife that you're taking off the shower head, not that you're screenprinting...

  • You have no brain. You have completely missed the point that the ASSUMPTION is that YOU the viewer of the video is MALE. Which YOU obviously are.

  • you need to calm down. i am not a male, and you are taking this video and analyzing it to death. he is goofing off, it's a tutorial. calm down.

  • If the area where you live is cloudy. You can get a UV lamp.

  • yo dumbass earth rotates around the sun .

  • greaat stff i learned a lot.

  • good stuff here thanks

  • Yeah you can just make a lightbox or just shine light directly onto it, it has to be high UV (i.e. not your everyday lamp)

  • Sorry retard, literally, there is nothing wrong with both the aforementioned sentences. (Yours and that of the video)

    Unless you meant Orbit?

  • a realy brit light sroce, like intesn uv lights

  • love love love.

  • haha this is too funny, thankyou etsy!!

  • This is really cool, but you lost me at "that big ball of fire in the sky." I live in Seattle, we don't have one of those.

  • most helpful video on screen printing i've seen!

  • heh. the sun doesnt go around the earth.

  • heretic.

  • I lol'd

  • u can use any mesh for shirts not just 110

  • Ok and so if printing onto shirts with textile inks can you then wash ein shirts?

and i'm guessing that you pour the leftover emulsfier and ink after? thanks oh and finally where can i purchase an assistant?

  • glass? can plastic work too?

  • was that assistant hot or what?!

  • AAAHHHH! Pete, catch the transparency...

  • hello nice vid .... so how does the disign get from off of the transperecy onto the mesh ? plzz reply

  • its burned into it

  • brilliant vid! will be giving this a try for sure

  • this video is so well done i am starting my screen printing hobby thanks guys you made it so easy!

  • LIKE THE WIND! hahahaha

  • what size mesh would i need if i was printing onto wood like a skateboard?

  • probably the same as paper, 180

  • alright i guess ill give it a try... wish me luck

  • Matthew is the best screenprinter EVER!

  • I have been watching all the etsy how to's and I would just like to say thank you to the etsy people for bringing such entertaining and informative um information to me.

  • Where can you buy emulsion?

  • online shop i guess..

  • Excellent!

  • this is a shit method to screen print...

  • oh and you have a better method..

  • Matt looks like my french kicks lead singer / boyfriend.

  • i think that everytime he said something that was wrong was a joke like the sun thing and the squeegee thing lol i liked this video

  • true the earth does revolve around the sun, but that's his problem he said it wrong. It's not your position to call him retarted.

  • great video but i noticed a small trivial error at 0.53 seconds you say squegee ('scuse the spelling)means movement and at 6.25 you said it means checkmate but its a great video anyway.

  • and at 21 sec ... the earth rotates around the sun not the other way around lol

  • oh i forgot to ask, if i wanted to use a new image on the screen printer do i just wash off the emulsion if so with what, water??

  • No, you want to remove it with a photo emulusion remover. I haven't been able to locate this at craft shops, but have been able to locate it rather cheaply online. Just search "photo emulsion remover"

  • LOL!! Cool where is the cheapest place to find all these tools?

  • your trusty assistant is cute. =) haha Thank you for the vid. Can I get all of these things at a Michael's?

  • dang it looks like an awful lot of work.

  • I ran across information that says to make flexible solar panels you can use screen printing.

Does anybody even know where I would get the reflective film from and where to get conductive ink?

I also heard they can be printed on a home printer so I don't know why anyone would screen print when they can use a printer. Cupric oxide looks just like the powder in my laser printer. All I need is the material, print out 4000 sheets, encase them, wire them together and I am my own power company

  • i love this video, it's so funny! but if it's for first-time users, you should mention that the emulsion will need to be mixed with an activator. (i've just gone through four attempts with no luck because i didn't realize the emulsion needed to be mixed!)

thanks, and great video once again!

    -emily

  • I love these guys. They're so funny.

  • duh hurrrrrrrrrr, hello thar. i didn't see you come in, duhhhhhhrrrrrrr

  • nuh uh

  • i made a shirt with a printer kind of thing that puts the pattern in the screen... i didnt know u could use the sun and do everything yourself, thats so interesting! :)

  • Awesome. I never knew how to do this, but I'm going to try it out! It'd be perfect on my bags (:

  • coll where can I get the screen?

  • Comedy with a capital Hilarious!

    Loved it!

  • great i get it thnx for this video i can start my business now hehehe can you pls do a video of how to print in silk screen a two color photo or image

  • i didnt know the sun revolved around the earth.

  • Uff da! That assistant is a HOTTIE!

  • this is my squeegy...thats french for checkmate.... rofl

  • I don't get it ... care to explain?

  • THIS IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

    this guy is my hero..

I searched for so long to screenprint at home, and he explains it very clear. I'm gonna get that stuff.

  • The last line was Awesome. I loved the video.

  • hahah the sun thats rotating around the earth

  • Great vid, but how thick should the emulsion be? I'm thinking there's something wrong with mine...it seems thin.

  • Thanks! It seems to require a slightly different technique when printing on shirts versus paper however.

  • That's only one color

  • Yeah, you can get in emulsion in an art store, and yeah, you can also sensitize the emulsion in the sun, or under lights for a shorter time even. i started screen printing in my basement and its the easiest shit ever, first time trial round, now every shirt turns out hella tight and good.

  • i loved that!! great how-to vid.

  • Big globe of fire rotating around the Earth! Wow...I learn something new on YouTube everyday. Thanks for the excellent tutorial.

  • nice! if you wanna make another t-shirt or something with the same design or re-use the screen what do you do? repeat the entire process?

  • If you clean the ink off the screen after you run your edition, then the screen can be kept for later use.

  • hahahaha... you rock!!!

  • it's closer to 600Kelvins...

  • Fabulous! Very helpful. :)
