  • wow.. doing their best? bullshit! greedy sons of bitches

  • This is America in ther best... all they do is robbing the poor.

  • @Wolfshamil

...but this was a British film.

    YA-HA!!!

  • They set up a trust fund for him when he turns 18 beacause you know if you give it to his parents now they would eith waste it of run off with it or lose it. You know thats the truth.

  • it was the indians (police-government-ministers...) who brought down the home, why blame boyle? ok i got it, because he made a movie called " Slumdog Millionaire"?

  • Comment removed

  • @BlowOff I don't think Boyle was or is the culprit, what was their deal i don't know but man i understand what your saying and if they had a deal like food for the next 10days then screw you then too bad that was just the deal. It's the country and its leaders to take the blame if there is slums in that country. Sincerely it is So Sad.

  • This is so sad.

  • Look at the faces of the suits that made the dough, then look at the faces of the exploited people. Same ol story. Use them for selfish gain then fuck em over-- so what else is new in whiteyland?

  • They exploited these poor children. Made money off them and probably gave them a crap deal. How heartbreaking to see that little boy cry.

  • Azharuddin and his mother have been living in a small flat for two years which is great, and yet Rubina's hut burned down in the Bandra. WTF?

  • i thought none of the actors in this movie are from the real slums

  • "Done their best?" Bullshit.

  • @SirSanje I KNOW RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! it gets me mad and upset, it's disgusting

  • you want a real look at india? this is it!

  • @Timic83amv no it's not. My friend is from india one part of it is rich in colleges and buildings (like New York) while the other part is like villages like this. It's sad because they're treated poorly by the indians that are wealthy.

  • @crazydestiny17 It's that old caste system mentality bullshit. People suck everywhere.

  • @skimskambone You're right. My friend wasn't the only Indian that went to my school, it was another one that came from a village in India. I notice how my friend would sort of be rude to him. It makes sense now.

  • @crazydestiny17 yeah people complain about oppression from outside then turn around & do it to themselves (each other). Meh.

  • @Timic83amv Not completely but this is the sad part of it.

  • omg this is so sad poor kid he did all that work in that movie and he did good to this is really messed up

  • OMG I cannot believe this! It is ridiculous T_T this totally made me cry to see that kid in tears flksadhjfljkdlhgsfsjafjgj!

  • MEET THE FACE OF FREE TRADE AND GLOBALIZATION AKA FASCISM

  • pourquoi le cinéaste n'a rien fait?????? il a engrangé des milliards , reçu des récompenses sur le dos de pauvre gosse c'est honteux

  • poor kid, thats so not right, hollywood f**king suck for treating these kids this way after they made them so much money off this damn movie and i wonder how much money is in those trust funds, probably not much cause their from the slums they think they can treat them any kind of way, these children were the main stars of this film and one the reasons it was such a success, it wouldn't even hurt their pockets to pay for these kids education, buy them a decent home, its really sad

  • FUCK RACISM AND PEOPLE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF POOR LITTLE BOYS WHO WERE 9 YEARS OLD WHEN THE MOVIE WAS MADE AND HE WAS IN IT! SO SICK! ALL OF YOU RACISTS PLEASE SEARCH YOUR HEART EVERYONE IS HUMAN AND THESE ARE JUST LITTLE CHILDREN. CHILDREN. THEY DID NOT CHOOSE TO BE BORN INDIAN OR BROWN NOT WHITE THEY DID NOT CHOOSE TO BE BORN EXTREMELY HEARTBREAKINGLY POOR IN THE THIRD WORLD INSTEAD OF POOR IN THE WESTERN WORLD/FIRST WORLD WHICH IS LIKE RICH THERE. HAVE A HEART. (AND I DO I LOVE THE FILM). LOVE.

  • @LalitaShaktas ritch is the man who has love and health poor is the man who craves wealth

  • @scanvalley1 Obviously the slum motto!

  • @LeMonte2fierce actually he did not pay them. he did set up trust funds for the equivalent of 1,000 american dollars that they can not access until they are 18. unfortunately they need it now, the oldest kid is like 11 and they are SO poor its unimaginable, if you had lived in those conditions maybe you would understand. they were indeed taken advantage of. great movie though, its my favorite- its just sad what is happening to the kids. i may go over there and do what i can, im writing Unicef...

  • All the film-makers have done for the poor kids is (i have been following this very closely for over a year now) 1. Buy them one year of books for school (that is, for those who are lucky enough to get to go to school) 2. Set up trust funds of the equivalent of 1,000 American dollars for each child that they can access when they turn 18. 3. Pay them nothing for the film just plane tickets for events related to the film (like the oscars). The film has made more than $326,000,000 in profit. Sick.

  • the movie made $326 000 000. the fucking ppl who made da movie could at least give each on of da stars 1 million. with 1 million in india they would be able to have a nice home and still have money for other stuff. fucking cheap bastards

  • that's very stupid. leave the slums alone.

  • once again the media milking it again.

  • All of the Slumdog kids were taken advantage of. I've been following this story for a year now and the people involved with the film have done nothing but purchase one year of school books for them. It's pathetic.

  • Setting up a trust get them their fair share of the money DICK HEADS.

  • Comment removed

  • @cdltpx they can't access it until they are 18 and the oldest kid is like 11 and need it now they are so so so desperately poor most can't even afford to go to school its really sad :( and i love the movie and i do think its good they will get 1,000 american dollars worth of money they can access when they turn 18 however something is wrong here...this film made $326,000,000 in profit. and its supposed to show how bad things are so people want to help which it does. im doing something to help!

  • @LalitaShaktas Our nation is rapidly headed in the direction that nation is in. 8 million MORE forclosures expected to turn soon that is on top of the already out there. We are headed toward being a 3rd world nation if we don't do something soon. We have the advantage of wealth even if you loose everything you own you have the wealth of a library card that alone will afford you unlimited magazine newspaper computer books encyclopedia you can even take a laptop and sip on their internet.

  • @cdltpx There are motels in Japan that rent out bunks stacked 3 high you get your privacy in your bunk but they at least have that for people there here we have motels that are for the poor they are too expensive for the truly poor. People would be happy to just have a space to pop a tent and be left alone. Here it is illegal to be poor if you are homeless you cant stay here dont have any money many places in the south you can be arrested for vagrancy that should be illegal.

  • fk off all of you... ur sick..

There ppl aswell you no... you should burn in hell and be destroyed

  • Fuck you and hope you burn in fucking hell.

  • For more information, pics. and cool stuff about Freida Pinto visit: freidapinto"co"uk

  • cmom just 400k

  • I was thinking about buying the movie...but if the kids aren't gettin the money i spent for the movie..., than idk.

  • the government is giving them apartments, this is in fact possibly a better prospect because there is at least a little oversight when the government can afford housing with some infrastructure that meets regulations rather than a shack built inside a slum by the family.

  • why didn't that fucking director give those poor kids a decent home or money what the fuck is that

  • @OACYLU Don't let your anger blinds your mind. Those kids do get paid to be in the movie, and the director set a trust fund for them, so nobody can steal it. What more do you want ? Don't be a double standard person. If you treat them better just because they are poor, that's just not right for those who are working hard. Hollywood did what they could. The problem is the indian authority just simply wants a piece of cake in that hollywood money. Blame the Corruption !

  • @swatus This film made more than $360,000,000 million American dollars in profit. These kids are SO poor its heartbreaking and not their fault. Read my other comments to learn more about the truth :( and i do love the movie. and you are wrong about Indians. Ha taking advantage of Hollywood? WHAT? that is ignorant. i mean to be polite but honestly ha who ever heard of that these little children were in the movie for crying out loud. Also it wasn't Hollywood who made the movie, its British guys.

  • @OACYLU because he wanted the whole money for himself. the british cunt.

  • @OACYLU Yea that guy made milions of dollars from them. "We have done our best" yea sure you have... sure you have.

  • @OACYLU its india lots of people get screwed in that country

  • @OACYLU

The kids all have educational trust funds.

If they were to give the money directly to the parents they would mess it up. The best way is to give the child means to succeed in the long term, rather than letting their parents squander their money.

  • @OACYLU Was very difficult just to do that.. they have money for the kids to spend when they reach 18-21..

money is there made for them for their education too.

  • they should have a new house!!!!

  • I'm sure the kids will get money, its that they are to young to get it all, and if all is given to them there parents would control it and the kids wouldn't have a say on what to use it on, but at least the producers did help them.

  • That really is so fucked up!!!

The fact is, in that slum, even 100K would have put him and his family in a far better place.

I know this is not the same thing, but this is the kind of thing that happens when government oversight is not in place!

  • cant believe after all the money they made from the movie they just let the kid return to the slums. I am utterly disgusted.

  • what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck.

the kid was in a movie that erned 8 oscars and they dodnt giv him a couple million dollars thats fucked and its not just disgusting but disturbing and sadistic

fucking brits fuck thos ugly british people they will burn in hell or just have a fucked life sooner or later

  • This kind of stuff happens to kids and people all over the world. It's sad and all but it makes me wonder if this would have been reported if it wasn't the main kid from Slumdog millionaire getting the shaft.

  • FUCK THE FILM MAKERS !!

they don't the best ma assssssssssss

  • that is bull crap! he's a f****** celebrity

  • poor kid

  • Perhaps, the Indian Government needs to stop making nuclear submarines and put THAT money into social and infrastructure reform.

    Howwever...

As a nuclear power, and an emerging world economic power, India is STILL a poverty striken, 3rd world nation.

This video is proof that any government in any country, only cares about its military build up, and not about it's own people.

  • you should run for office

  • damn thats sad...but wouldnt that kid get paid a shit load of money for acting in the movie?

  • nope

  • sentimental value i suppose

  • bullshit! they havnt done shit for those children except exploit them for profit!

    fuckin greenback-fundalmentalists!

     burn hollywood burn!

  • How is this possible? Why weren't these children from the movie taken care of after the movie made over 300 million? Wow that is just sad!

  • Poor kid, what f*cking good is a trust fund, these kids might not even make it to 16, and I can't believe the father of the girl who plays little Latika actually tried to sell her for $400, 000. Sickening.

  • I fear for the rest of the peoples of this slum. With such corruption, they too could find their own homes demolished without warning. Aren't their lives hard enough without the "police" barging in with bulldozers? Why crush this child's home? Who were the police mad at? Its all so sad...

  • with all the corruption going on in india, it boggles me why people go after the poor. Illegally built?!?! its a slum for crying out loud. As it is they have nothing and the cops do this shit. Someone should have paid them 1000 rupees then it wouldn't have happened.

  • WTF

  • poor kid

  • @josie768 - poor director

  • man i love dat lil boy...i almost cried.. dats sad man

  • im gonna fucking kill u u ass hole how could u say tht

  • cool i think he lives in new Mexio

  • Is posting mindless crap on this page your new hobby?

  • FAKE!!

  • Boyle & Colson really let everybody down.

  • how do u compare new Orleans to mumbai 13 million people live in Mumbai half the population live in the slums. The 04 indian ocean earthquake had 229,866 casualties ur sayin new orleans is still fucked upover in india hundreds of thousands of people are still homeless.Mumbai has terroristsrunning around .Hundreds of people dieeach year in mumbai because of monsoonbecause the governement dont give a fuck bout cleaning the clogged drains. Atleast America has a gov' t that caresabout kids wellfare

  • suffering is suffering. it doesn't matter if 10 people lose their lives or 20,000. American gov't cares about kids? Ever read up on education cuts or health funding for kids? we have a long way to go still. this country's WAAAY more obsessed with Jon & Kate's affairs, Kelly Clarkson's fat, Susan Boyle's voice and American Idol's runner ups than it is about the vital resource of kids, and how important it is to provide a world for them to grow in. let the PARENTS save their own kids

  • Hey! Here's an idea! Let's go live in the slums with a trust fund! Asshole film makers.

  • D: that's so sad =S

  • So give only these kids homes when there's just over 2 million others in poverty in India and China alone?

  • because the more we see people that say that, the less we feel like helping

  • There is no excuse for their living conditions, none. But what can I say , there is no excuse for the living conditions of the children and families in America. A trust fund? that's so American.. If they survive they'll be well off but if not. Oh well .. Man we need to pray for this world.

  • Why aren't there laws governing the welfare of children who are actors? Ther maybe for American children but probably not. It saddens me to see this. I'm an advocate for children and this really breaks my heart. I'm thinking if I was a parent living in impoverished conditions and my child was offered the part in a film How would I handle it. I wouldn't be to greedy to negotiate the contract because there is a child next door with the same conditions whom they can choose. The filmmakers know that

  • Why don't you shut your mouth before I smack it? Didn't see that coming did you?

  • wow... ur cool

  • so.....are the parents' hands tied? they've lived there FIFTEEN years. FIFTEEN. that's a choice, folks, not a haphazard circumstance. wanna make a difference? then BOYCOTT buying shit magazines like "star" and "us" and "people" , which make quadrillions off stories like this, and even more, boycott the FILM if a sequal is made. Oh and by the way - while everyone's crying over kids in India - howz about checking New Orleans. Katrina victims are stll f***ed, folks. wake up

  • This is not about how we can change the world and make it a better place. This is about kids who deserve more, for what they did.

  • and they did...what, exactly? got paid to be in a film and went to the Oscars? and why SHOULDn't it be about making the world better? i guarantee you that very few people are sitting at home googling needy kids in Calcutta to help. the only reason this even made the airwaves is because the U.S. is obsessed with celebrity and because the kids were in a film. Like theyr'e the only kids on their block? Help 'em ALL

  • OK, lets get off this thing about helping people in general. This youtube video is about the kids who made that movie what it is. These kids played a BIG part in getting 300+Millions for the film. Why should they have to continue living in the slums? don't you think they deserve more?

  • Comment removed

  • didnt Danny Boyle buy them homes?

  • oh my..

  • That's so messed up. I'm sure they took advantage of these kids and their parents for not knowing about contracts or whatever, and not knowing how much money they should really get. There's NO WAY they should be homeless, they didn't splurge on any expensive crap. They can't even keep their 3rd world house (actually hut) up with that check they MIGHT HAVE gotten from a movie that made $326,000,000. And why knock down their houses? In the middle of a slum, because of some stupid regulation?

  • So what are we supposed to support them? What about the other millions of people that were affected? Hollywood should give 1000$ per actor or so and then at least there would be some help.Where are all these humanitarian groups(Jolie, Clooney) now?

  • Even if he does buy him a house its gonna be a shitty house.

he will never fully give what those kids deserved.

  • The Jai Ho Trust bought Azhar's family a 250 square foot flat. Not exactly moving in next door to Oprah, huh? You called it right.

  • i lol'd,

    FAVORITED!!!

  • I'll bet the gov was mad, that the movie showed the slums.

  • This is too sad... and the movie did so good... that's just too sad.... and wrong...

  • wtf?! the police are just cruel... this is sad... i hope they are okaii....

  • this is just sad and cruel. the movie did so well.

  • i agree

  • All bullshit, Hollywood could given some of that 320 million to some of the kids that bust their ass to make this movie and that just shows how dam greedy people are in life and they real don't give a shit about anyone else but themselfs, dam shame that the world is that, they are only kids and in the USA kids got it made here, but they don't see that and they cry & bitch about wanting more, what about India or other nations that don't have what we have.

  • You are forgetting that these kids have a trust fund worth millions. They don't get it until they are 18 because of logistical reasons. If they got it now, they would have hardly any say in how it is used. Their parents would take it for themselves.

  • You have no clue how a trust fund works. Courts in the US have set up trust funds for many years, now, in a way that the beneficiaries (kids) don't have to wait until age18 to benefit, & the money is still protected from the parents taking it. Danny Boyle doesn't want to pay out any more than public pressure forces him to pay out.

  • i just found out this is a publicity stunt for the upcoming sequel, so everybody please chill.

  • So, what was your source of info? How is this publicity stunt so important that the children should spend even 1 more day living in the odor of human shit?

  • wtf no its not -_-

  • what? ..weren't they paid a lot of money?? what the hell is this??..this makes me sick about humankind..we should be wiped out from the face of the earth you know...

  • I'm wondering the same thing. The movie did so well, I thought that he'd get a good amount of money so that his family could move out of the slums

  • I'd usually say "that's life", considering so many other people have it worse. (Not saying that isn't horrible as well, mind you)

But he's a star on a movie. He shouldn't have to be living somewhere like that after he made such a good movie that everyone in USA and other parts of the world watched. Did he get any compensation for being in that movie?!

  • man that's messed up

  • Hollywood is EVIL!!!!!!

  • Hey, Dirtbag Danny! Will the kids be returning from Hong Kong to their new flats? Or back to the slum? You made promises. Deliver. You want to keep everything from Slumdog Millionaire except your promises to the kids.

  • I HATE INDIAN PEOPLE! WHY IS THAT THIS KID IS STILL POOR?! damn corrupt asses

  • Interesting...how can you blame Indian people? I think the real issue is that these young kids should have earned so much money that they can provide for their families a new life and a new home for the rest of their lives...so why are they still living in slums? The child is right, I , too blame the corrupt movie producers who clearly have not provided for these actors who they hired. Putting money in trust funds is great, but it doesn't help them survive now.

  • ???? why danny boyle didn't pay enough that kid? that is the question to ask. Indians havn't made this movie

  • are u kidding me? They did the best they could tp help the young stars? WTF?! With all the money they grossed in the least they could fucking do would be to give them a proper home. With millions of dollares you cant afford to give your workers (yeah technically those actors were the producers workers-they worked for him) anything better than a tin hut!?

    My God....

  • Well said Boochus, my thoughts exactly!!!

  • Gee you resorted to profanity..how mature..

I just stated how it was a great movie and why it deserved an oscar.

I guess your just a fan of movies that revolve around materialism...

  • Its all about the money everyone else gets fked

  • pmoneey

  • poor kids

  • Didn't Dirtbag Danny fly to Mumbai over a week ago to get homes for the kids as promised? Rafiq made a good point that if Danny Boyle were willing to spend the money, he could buy a home in 2 days. Danny is crying for the media to leave the kids alone. Good suggestion. Leave the kids alone, & stay on Boyle like shit on a diaper until he delivers.

  • the movie was a waste of 3 hours

  • I guess it's shit for showing the reality of slums in India yet giving off the elements for another genre..

    Nice logic.

  • The producers of Slumdog Millionaire have already compensated these kids well beyond SAG guidelines. Bottom line, Mumbai doesn't adequately take care of its own people. I had a garment & a shoe industry lined up to locate in Mumbai. Gone, now. Mumbai government, businesses, & private individuals need to reply to their letters & emails. Slums exist because India ignores any help, & does little or nothing about the problem. At least answer your damn mail!

  • what a shame the producers are sitting there rich as fuck living in there fancy mansions well the actors of this great movie suffer in poverty....If i every see the producers there getting more then just there picture taken.....bastards!!!!

  • I like that movie

    Slum Dog Millionare

Its A good movie action, humor, voilence, AWESOME

  • LOL so funny

  • Why doesn't the kid KILL the people who teared down that house?

  • Wait... are these child stars millionaires now or are they still very poor? Where did all that money go from the movie?

  • The producers should buy a home with furniture and appliances/fully furnished 100% paid and put the home in the child actor's name. End of story.

  • I don't think they'll see any of the money for a while because they are so young. I don't know how much they were promised, or how much they received, but I do know that the local government is largely to blame here. This is not the appropriate response to an illegal shack. This only perpetuates poverty and is a short term solution, if it could even be called a solution.

    Shameful.

  • I bet they picked random kids and gave them a shitty offer that they kid of course would have found to be a good offer since they are living in the slums.

  • Aint the world a wonderful place ... Everyone hates everyone else. Everyone is trying to con everyone else. Every culture hates every other culture. Religion cons us into believing bullshit. Where can anyone go in the world to be simply left alone ?? and most of the youth on YouTube are bottom feeders who love to insult and have potty mouths. The need for attention is a drug for them .

  • I don't believe anyone is trying to help these kids....that is a shame.

  • aww man i wish i could do something

  • STFU SLUMBALLS! MY wittle HOUSEY

  • why can't they just donate a relatively measly three million for the kids&&community.

    326 million it made?

  • "You think I Chinese!! I am Korean!! Do I look Chinese?"

  • I'm glad I paid to watch slumdog. Now i want the directors to give 10 million to each of the children.

    Thanks.

  • Those kids have been given a raw deal in life.

  • India Shining.

  • karma's gonna bite you in the ass, buddy

  • You just posted your statement to piss people off huh?

  • wtf man...

  • I'm sorry to say this but they should put birth control in the water supply......
