it looked like you had a lot of unnecessary things taking up a lot of space in your living room, maybe you should think about throwing some stuff out?
I would show an empty house as small as that, and tell: "This is what you can get with 700 dollars, but I wouldn't show my unclean and messed up house with no space for anything, and say: "This is what you get with 700 dollars... what do you need all that space for anyway" O_O
It's your house, and I am not a guy to tell you clean up, because first of all I wouldn't care less, but I tell you: "Cleaning and throwing out useless stuff would make your house look much better and easy to live in."
wow that's awful, i would never ever in my life consider to life in there
my father is from holland and lifes in South-Korea and has 3 rooms that are the size of your whole appartment and his livingroom is 3 times bigger than your whole appartement. he has 2 bathrooms that are both 2 times the size of yours and he pays $0 a month!
that's why there aren't fat people in japan...you couldn't fit inside the apartments there. sumos have to live in their own specialy built living facilities
ok i heared that japanese flats are expensive but woooh 700$ for this small flat??
i thinks its not logical that theres space for a bed over the entrance, which is a really goog idea, and on the other hand there a two rooms for toilet and shower.
Hah. It's cute. Just to compare though.. I lived in a two bedroom apartment down in Alabama for $400 a month. That's two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, and living area with heating and cooling. About four times the size of that place?
Some of you people in here are just like the Mexicans taking jobs from Americans, but instead taking jobs from Asians from Asian countries and outsourcing them!.
What an informative video! I agree who needs all that space anyway. This apartment reminds me of a cruise ship's cabin haha! anyhoo I would love to see more about what day to day life is like over in Nihon :)
I could never live in an apartment so small. Not because I cant stand small spaces bu because my electric wheelchair would mangle the place lol assuming I could even enter the doorway. Do electric wheelchair friendly homes exist in Japan?
surely if there is 2 of you, you could combine wages to get a bigger place...alternatively get rid of some of your stuff, you seem to have lot of things when normally japanese people only have what they need...ive noticed though this is in 2007, ive seen and talked to people who went over recently and places seem to be bigger (you get more for your money)
Man....a few years back I got a apartment with no bathroom or shower for 650. This has me pondering about going to Japan. I room like that is paradise compared to the room I lived in.
o0 I just went to mu uncle's new appartment today....it has a bedroom, a decent sized kitchen, a bathroom two size's bigger then yours, a living room that is huge, and an extra room, for about £300 a month, I know we live in crappy England but my god! That's considerd okay?! How much money do you make?!
I see it costs alot more to live in Japan, in comparison to the US, because my apartment is 780 and it's about 4 times the size of that, interesting video though, I like the wood floors.
everything is so compact. I feel so at home if I lived there! oh and i don't get why Americans would wash themselves inside the tub, I mean wouldn't the water get dirty? I'm not Japanese but I'm Asian and that little space above your ceiling reminds me of my old bedroom in Vietnam ^^
dude, entering your house is like walking into a locker! but i suppose places have gotta be small over there, there are so, so many people there wouldn't be any room for 'decent' sized places XD if you know what i'm sayin!
Actually $700 a month for an apartment that small would be considered a bit much in America. But since he's in Japan, that's their lifestyle. It's very common to have an (what we would think as too small for the price) apartment of that size. Plus taking into consideration of the easy accessibility to one of Japan's major cities, also increases the price of the living expense. Although it seems, even to me, impossible to be able to live in such small quarters, it's very normal to the Japanese.

Lol I don't know anyone who makes only $1000 a month holy shit. Maybe you live in a poor part of the US where living expenses are lower, but I make over six figures so don't give me that bullshit poor boy.

i was talking about monthly salary, ignorant american.
Earning 1000-2000 $/month is regular in sweden.
The rich people earn 5000 $/month. The REALLY rich earn 10 000 $/month. Considering Sweden is an industrial/rich country, 700 $/month is alot. You get a two floor appartment with like 10 rooms for that.
Marking words is for kids. (i would like to see you speak any other language than english, ignorant american.)
$2000 a month isn't much sorry, not to mention you gotta pay 60% of that in to taxes. Japan is a much richer country than Sweden, that's why property is so cheap there. I'm sorry you don't understand basic economic principles and property values. By the way I know English, Spanish, and Chinese. Try again, poor boy.
Well, considering you have to pay for things such as health and dental care, the paychecks you receive in America will be higher. An ALT (assistant language teacher) earns up to 350,000 yen monthly. thats 3,692 USD, so Japan isn't really that much richer.
Lol Negative1111 im assuming by ''Marking Words'' You mean Quoting in which case your saying quoting some one is for kids? than your a dumbass. Your statement makes me think your a fucking child. And why should we learn a launguage other than english when every other country is learning english. Although I Speak English - Spanish - and japanese.
That bath water is NOT used for bathing, but for soaking AFTER you shower off. You have to take a shower first, and THEN you get into the hot water and relax. Just do not pee in it! ;-)
Sometimes you make it sound worse than it is...like when you say there is no dryer you don't mention that it would be strange to have one. Same with an oven. Also, people shop for their food each day pretty much so a small fridge is perfectly fine for there.
Besides that yeah that looks pretty standard to me. My place was about twice as big and utils/net/etc paid for for about the same price(I think?), but I lived in fukuoka so it's not comparable. But so people know there are cheaper cities.
I can see how a large person could feel, just.. alittle too big for that place. I was also hope'n that he would say that Japan pays more here.. well.. I would not pay 700 U.S dollars on that. srry. I know a ton of people who pay more or less than $600 for an apartment that you could actually throw a 40 person party in(thats including room for people to narrowly get people somewhat comfortibly by eachother of course).
...Wow, and I actually want to live in Japan for a year or so after college...How are the jobs out there pugdaddyd? Also, is it relatively easy to find apartments around that size & price range?
great video...it was very detailed and like the bleach poster lol...but i do have 1 question about the currency....what is the difference between yen and sen?
ooh! i see a bleach poster! haha i want to sleep on top!! it looks really fun to live there... but you need to get rid of some stuff.. looks to me its really cramped.. no offence.

that apartment is meant for one person - that is why it seems so compact. you can definitely find bigger and cheaper in osaka.

True. I wasn't even allowed to live with somebody else when I rented an apartment like that.

It's great living in Japan ,, But the greatest thing is to learn their language...:)
I think it's better to take some of your stuff to the Us.. because it's really crowded :)

Wow! Cool place! It's pretty roomy for a place that's $700 a month in Japan, actually. A nice bargain there for Osaka. The same price would land you just a studio apartment in LA.
