  • Agh...700

  • Dude, get a taller refrigerator...

  • Thank you for showing. Have a nice life there.

  • Did kon come with the apartment

  • I was kinda scared to look at the bathroom after looking at everything else!

  • Dude and i thought my room was small, ur living in a damn closet lol

  • That's amazing. Tiny!

  • was there no sing in the toilet room? T-T

  • I am confused, is this an apartment or just a fucking expensive storage unit? This can not be bigger than 15'x10'...

  • Kool, i seen miky-mouse at the end of the vid, 4:37- 4:42, soory for any bad spelling, lol :)

  • another 300 a month could get you a bigger place..

  • im a small person so i dont think this apartment is that small

  • it looked like you had a lot of unnecessary things taking up a lot of space in your living room, maybe you should think about throwing some stuff out?

  • japan is so expensive..uff -.-

  • @dollYukify i live in an apartment in Osaka for around $300. So, you can find places for pretty cheap.

  • @dollYukify Japan is cheap for foreigners!

  • I would show an empty house as small as that, and tell: "This is what you can get with 700 dollars, but I wouldn't show my unclean and messed up house with no space for anything, and say: "This is what you get with 700 dollars... what do you need all that space for anyway" O_O

It's your house, and I am not a guy to tell you clean up, because first of all I wouldn't care less, but I tell you: "Cleaning and throwing out useless stuff would make your house look much better and easy to live in."

  • wow its smaller than m dorm room :(

  • Ok the lesson is, don't eat any food cuz there's no room in the fridge anyway, and if you get fat you can't walk through the door.

  • My soul would die in there!!

  • @samasher Are you a ginger?????

  • @mjlover12345 do I look like a ginger?? Nope, not a ginger. LOL

  • wow even small apartments in Japan are expensive...

  • and yes it is an appartment

  • wow that's awful, i would never ever in my life consider to life in there

my father is from holland and lifes in South-Korea and has 3 rooms that are the size of your whole appartment and his livingroom is 3 times bigger than your whole appartement. he has 2 bathrooms that are both 2 times the size of yours and he pays $0 a month!

    his company pays everything

  • Nice tour man but you need to get rid of some of that junk.

  • And I thought my apartment was small...

  • a bleach fan i see.. good man!

  • I always wanted to come to japan but damn...... too small for living.... tooo small for moving breathing too many people in so tiny space

  • The Benjo sign made me laugh lol.

  • you need all that more space to hold all the junk you got laying around in every room :)

  • You live with too much clutter. Nice video thanks for showing, but you collect way too much crap.

  • that looks like some project homes lol

  • Why would you want to live in around Osaka? It's a terrible place. To top it off your 25 minutes from Osaka.

  • seems so small its making me crazy........i dont think i could live like that

  • what is the square footage of the place?

  • dude u have way too much shit for this apartment. what were u thinking?

  • Dude just move north and you can get a much better place for a fraction of the price.

  • perfect!!!! thats all i need!!!!!

  • ah japan hey if you hurt yourself how do you call the hospital. is it 911 like in america or something else

  • @Kyo1676 call 119

  • @YaffeAgape lol thanks hahahahahahah.

  • Not bad,.

  • u have to hang clothes above ur bed man thats sad.

  • no offense but sux to be you... itss veryyy small, i didnt thought that apartments in japan were expensive,,,

  • yeah i have no idea about economic standards there but is 700$ a month a lot there?

  • BLEACH I LOVE THE SHOW

  • dude seriously clean up , im 15 but I could make my house cleaner than that , buy some plastic shelves and baskets for gods sake

  • @xXDjDeMoXx the only reason you keep your room clean is because your mama would beat you with an extension cord...

    Merry Christmas

  • Nice bleach rock musical poster ^^

  • you should have cleaned up before filming, that place is a wreck

  • that's why there aren't fat people in japan...you couldn't fit inside the apartments there. sumos have to live in their own specialy built living facilities

  • ok i heared that japanese flats are expensive but woooh 700$ for this small flat??

i thinks its not logical that theres space for a bed over the entrance, which is a really goog idea, and on the other hand there a two rooms for toilet and shower.

    what a waste of room.

  • Hah. It's cute. Just to compare though.. I lived in a two bedroom apartment down in Alabama for $400 a month. That's two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, and living area with heating and cooling. About four times the size of that place?

  • Question: Is that 700 usd or 700 japanese yen? thanks.

  • @jaakizamazin 700 yen?

    BAHAHAHAHA. You total prat.

  • @jaakizamazin ...Think for a sec...700 Yen is a tad more then 7$ I doubt he can get a full apartment and internet for 7$...so it has to be 700$ USD

  • looks cousy to me

  • I am currently renting a room in a house for $750 i pay for internet and cable separate. So this is actually a way better deal.

  • I'm thinking about living in Japan when I get older. I kinda like the small simple houses and riding my bike to the store to get yakisoba noodles :)

Plus, I have a huge chance of meeting a famous japanese person. XD

  • Wow... Looks kinda comfy. Could get used to it.

  • im not discourage i like small places its simple and neat i hope to teach english there :]

  • lmfao @ the appliances

  • I have lost the will to live in japan,

for that I thank you my friend for warning me and preventing me from making a mistake I would regret forever

  • its a freaking box!!!.....WOW

  • Japanese bathing sounded very clean, until you mentioned the multiple use of bath water. That's a NO. But thanks for the tour, very interesting :)

  • OMG, I've wanted to live in Japan since I was like 10. I would sooo love to be there! Great video.

  • and people say NY is a rip-off!

  • @KatComixProductions

Japan is expensive. Tokyo is well known for being expensive. Much more expensive than NYC.

  • @CosmoHunter24

Hence My joke of a comment...I was well aware that Cities in Japan have a much higher cost of living then NYC when I made the comment.

  • @KatComixProductions you have a better chance getting shot in ny then japan

  • @KatComixProductions at least you a run for your money in tokyo

  • heheh , i guess you have to be thin to live in an apartment like that! LOL imagine what it would be like if you weight like 200 lbs... D:

  • Some of you people in here are just like the Mexicans taking jobs from Americans, but instead taking jobs from Asians from Asian countries and outsourcing them!.

  • Nice place but it's so small. Can't you find a bigger apartment?

  • What an informative video! I agree who needs all that space anyway. This apartment reminds me of a cruise ship's cabin haha! anyhoo I would love to see more about what day to day life is like over in Nihon :)

  • dang so small i want to live there but im scared cause im black O.O

  • Japanese are usually not too racist I think you get more racism in America or the UK or Australia than japan.

  • @kirarox012 at least you don't have blonde hair lol. Japanese hate Aussies.

  • @SanguineBullet667 do they? fu**!

  • @SanguineBullet667 wait japanese people hate blondes?!?!

  • Im 19yrsold and planning to move to japan within the next 5-10 years. This really help me get a idea of what it would be like.

  • 1200 is what I paid for something like this in America.

    This looks very nice!

  • Oh god... I don't think I wanna live in Japan anymore lol.

  • I could never live in an apartment so small. Not because I cant stand small spaces bu because my electric wheelchair would mangle the place lol assuming I could even enter the doorway. Do electric wheelchair friendly homes exist in Japan?

  • surely if there is 2 of you, you could combine wages to get a bigger place...alternatively get rid of some of your stuff, you seem to have lot of things when normally japanese people only have what they need...ive noticed though this is in 2007, ive seen and talked to people who went over recently and places seem to be bigger (you get more for your money)

  • Oh I've always wanted to live in Japan since I was four and this would be so amazing for me

  • Do it!!

  • @direngrey150 four, really?`dayum, myself ive only wanted to since i was 14 or so ;>

  • @Cptraktorn yup, four. and i've achieved it XD see where holding on to dreams gets you!

  • wow , no thanks , i think i'll stay in the US where I can get more comfy.

  • What are the average wages in Osaka? $700 seems a lot for a small apartment but the wages in Japan might be higher than US?

  • Man....a few years back I got a apartment with no bathroom or shower for 650. This has me pondering about going to Japan. I room like that is paradise compared to the room I lived in.

  • god 700 a month is kinda epensive but i want to live there anyways

  • try 1200 lmao manhattan is friggin sky high w rent but we get by haha

  • o0 I just went to mu uncle's new appartment today....it has a bedroom, a decent sized kitchen, a bathroom two size's bigger then yours, a living room that is huge, and an extra room, for about £300 a month, I know we live in crappy England but my god! That's considerd okay?! How much money do you make?!

  • how do you talk to the japeness poeple there. do you know how to talk in japenness. or do you just speck engilsh to them

  • Japanese people can understand a little bit of English and sign language can help too.

  • wow thats small. But for the chance to live in Japan, id gladly live there.

  • I see it costs alot more to live in Japan, in comparison to the US, because my apartment is 780 and it's about 4 times the size of that, interesting video though, I like the wood floors.

  • grreat video! THANK You sooo much for showing us the apartment. very interesting video!

  • everything is so compact. I feel so at home if I lived there! oh and i don't get why Americans would wash themselves inside the tub, I mean wouldn't the water get dirty? I'm not Japanese but I'm Asian and that little space above your ceiling reminds me of my old bedroom in Vietnam ^^

  • so is it worth it. and what do you do for a living.thanks

  • thats not bad for 700

  • is it just me or did outside of his house look like a locker room ? thanks for the video

  • dude, entering your house is like walking into a locker! but i suppose places have gotta be small over there, there are so, so many people there wouldn't be any room for 'decent' sized places XD if you know what i'm sayin!

  • good info man. kinda wish i had gotten to film my first apt here too.

  • I live in canada and my bathroom is bigger than that apartment. I'd rather live outside in a tent.

  • one question, where is your underwear?

  • that apartment for $700 per month? It's ok. Wait to go and to rent an apartment in Copenhagen or Oslo.

    p.d.: a bit messy your house. :D

  • Actually $700 a month for an apartment that small would be considered a bit much in America. But since he's in Japan, that's their lifestyle. It's very common to have an (what we would think as too small for the price) apartment of that size. Plus taking into consideration of the easy accessibility to one of Japan's major cities, also increases the price of the living expense. Although it seems, even to me, impossible to be able to live in such small quarters, it's very normal to the Japanese.

  • Great video!

  • Comment removed

  • The guy in this video sounds like a retard using upper inflections at the end of every sentence.

  • Thank you , i've been looking for something like this. It seems really cosy by the way, just a bit expensive.

im a bleach fan to btw :P

  • You're poor if you think $700 is expensive.

  • Considering its about 70% of a normal salary. Stop watching friends and wake up.

  • considering you still say LOL like a little 14 year old i strongly doubt you earn as much as a swedish politian. stop being a ignorant american and start realise the facts. (20-80, if you have any clue what that is). i think i hear your favorite drama show starting, you better hurry or you might miss it. i

everyone likes to escape reality but its not good to do it 24/7...

  • $2000 a month isn't much sorry, not to mention you gotta pay 60% of that in to taxes. Japan is a much richer country than Sweden, that's why property is so cheap there. I'm sorry you don't understand basic economic principles and property values. By the way I know English, Spanish, and Chinese. Try again, poor boy.

  • Well, considering you have to pay for things such as health and dental care, the paychecks you receive in America will be higher. An ALT (assistant language teacher) earns up to 350,000 yen monthly. thats 3,692 USD, so Japan isn't really that much richer.

  • Lol Negative1111 im assuming by ''Marking Words'' You mean Quoting in which case your saying quoting some one is for kids? than your a dumbass. Your statement makes me think your a fucking child. And why should we learn a launguage other than english when every other country is learning english. Although I Speak English - Spanish - and japanese.

  • although i can make the best out of what i have (literally) so i might do fine (if i lived there)

  • what do you need all that space for? umm... TO BREATHE!

  • what a bloody eye opener!!!

  • holy tits

  • I love the cubbyhole too. Your place is really cluttered.

  • o_O no offense. but you shoulda shopped around. I've found places in the burb of Tokyo for less than $700 with more space.

  • @seamonkeywater

where is that? name some places xD

  • @seamonkeywater reelie?

  • I WANT THE CUBBY HOLE! =o

  • I understand that it is common to not have a dryer, but why not? I mean if you want one you can just buy it correct? They don't cost that much.

  • use the same water for three or four people without changing it thats fucking nasty

  • its to save water and money

  • Many cultures still practice this. Up until 60 or so years ago, Americans did too.

  • That bath water is NOT used for bathing, but for soaking AFTER you shower off. You have to take a shower first, and THEN you get into the hot water and relax. Just do not pee in it! ;-)

  • oh internet?

    whats it like eh?

  • Sheit, that bathroom ain't big!!

  • japanese are small

  • Sometimes you make it sound worse than it is...like when you say there is no dryer you don't mention that it would be strange to have one. Same with an oven. Also, people shop for their food each day pretty much so a small fridge is perfectly fine for there.

Besides that yeah that looks pretty standard to me. My place was about twice as big and utils/net/etc paid for for about the same price(I think?), but I lived in fukuoka so it's not comparable. But so people know there are cheaper cities.

  • Wow i hate that apartment

  • No wonder Asians are extra skinny. Imagine a fat American living in that apartment..hahaha

  • HAHA i was thinking the exact same thing.

  • I can see how a large person could feel, just.. alittle too big for that place. I was also hope'n that he would say that Japan pays more here.. well.. I would not pay 700 U.S dollars on that. srry. I know a ton of people who pay more or less than $600 for an apartment that you could actually throw a 40 person party in(thats including room for people to narrowly get people somewhat comfortibly by eachother of course).

  • wow super small

  • you should move to bigger place, go online, I've seen some and can really get a good living space for your buck ^_^

  • american standarts are not the way to go whuahaha!

  • i dont know why ppl compl . its better then new york . i would love to live in japan .

  • that apartment is meant for one person - that is why it seems so compact. you can definitely find bigger and cheaper in osaka.

  • True. I wasn't even allowed to live with somebody else when I rented an apartment like that.

  • It's great living in Japan ,, But the greatest thing is to learn their language...:)

I think it's better to take some of your stuff to the Us.. because it's really crowded :)

  • ...Wow, and I actually want to live in Japan for a year or so after college...How are the jobs out there pugdaddyd? Also, is it relatively easy to find apartments around that size & price range?

  • what was the bleach poster with real people on it?

  • does osaka have alot of earthqueks,So how much

    is a 1000 yen,so is it nice there,because i

want to study in japan to become a vet?Nice vid by the way.

  • ... I would go nuts.

  • great video...it was very detailed and like the bleach poster lol...but i do have 1 question about the currency....what is the difference between yen and sen?

  • ooh! i see a bleach poster! haha i want to sleep on top!! it looks really fun to live there... but you need to get rid of some stuff.. looks to me its really cramped.. no offence.

  • u pay a lot of that apartment considering its osaka

  • I love Japan. It's a great city. I mean, that's a great deal for $700.

  • I mean country. Sorry.

  • thanx for uploading this video on youtube it was pretty helpful since im palnning on moving to japan the second i turn 18! can you please upload videos of the neighborhood? thanx!

  • Wow! Cool place! It's pretty roomy for a place that's $700 a month in Japan, actually. A nice bargain there for Osaka. The same price would land you just a studio apartment in LA.

  • I though you were walking into a wardrobe!

  • how many square feet is your apartment?

  • Its weird, for some reason this was the exact answer to a question I had the other day.

Great video; can you do one on about the neighborhood next?

  • you must have alot of money

  • I really enjoyed this. Thanks for making it.

  • thanks

  • Who cares about size in Japan? That's a pretty nice place, wouldn't mind living there... if it was just me, that is. XD

  • Pretty informative, thanks for all the extra details about customs in Japan!

  • interesting, thanks to share. I never saw what life in japan is like. thanks

  • Try cleaning up.

  • Pretty small but cozy. I'm used to living in cramped spaces.

  • its a very nice apatment even though its small.

    1. Are you studying japanese or how did u learn japanese, and why did u live in japan :)

  • Wow. And I though my dorm room was cramped 0_o

  • oh no!i also live here in osaka japan..in izumisano..near from you..i'm a filipina..14 yrs old..nice 2 meet you.

  • i would like to sleep above everybody

  • I spotted Kon!
