@loopyprincessyo123 You can use the triple crochet when you are working in rows. The stitches will be taller but they will still be the same width. The time that you will need to make adjustments will be if you are working in rounds and then decide to use the triple crochet.
I didnt know it was british...its called double treble pleasure....It doesnt seem to be any different than american directions except for the double treble, it says ch 5 at beg of row, and yo 3 times....the rest of the scarf is all single crochet...the dbl treble is one row ....
I made my first baby blanket that consisted of only double and triple crochets and for some reason the blanket came out skinnier and wider throughout the blanket. I made 3 chains for the triple crochet rows and 2 chains for the double crochet rows, but it still came out very unsquare like. lol. Any advice why?
If you are a new crocheter, it has to do with your tension. Tension is something that you develop through practice. Do you have the exact amount of stitches in each row? There could be more stitches in one row and less in the other row. It is very important to count or you will lose track. I have to count stitches with all my projects.
You can cover up your uneven edges by adding an outer edging. I did that with my first baby afghan 26 years ago. I would suggest a round of single crochet covering the end stitches, then you can do a reverse single crochet or shell to the edge.
The front post is worked on the front of your stitch. The back post is worked on the back of your stitch. I have a video tutorial showing front post and back post stitches.
There are two loops you will see at the top of your triple crochet. When you start a new row, you crochet your new stitch through the loops. It is where you place your hook through, put the yarn over the hook and then pull it through the two loops.
what i think she means when u wrap around twice then ''go through two'' it means when u look on top, it looks like a roof. its kinda hard to explain for me. but when u '' go through two'' make sure u see two loops on the hook but they look kinda connected thats the best i could explain hope i helped some
I've been gone a while! I got 7 crochet hooks for Christmas! I made a scarf, but it's BAD! I needed to know the triple stitch and this video came just in time! :)
This is so clear compared to the other videos.

can you start triple crocheting after a few rows of single crochet, or will it mess it up?

This stitch is a triple crochet with the yarn wrapped around the hook twice.

Hi! I love all your videos! I was wondering, what is the difference between a Front Post triple crochet, and a Back Post triple crochet?
Treina 3 years ago
The front post is worked on the front of your stitch. The back post is worked on the back of your stitch. I have a video tutorial showing front post and back post stitches.
tjw1963 3 years ago
Ah yes, I fount it. Thanks much!

What did you mean when you said, "I'll go through both of them"?
It was at the start of a new row...
I don't understand.

If you pause the video at time code 2:36, you will see the two loops I am talking about.
tjw1963 3 years ago
Ok... I see now. Do you go through both every stitch?
((Thank you for these tutorials by the way. They're very helpful as I just learned how to crochet from them yesterday.))
