Ok, this is what I really don't get about this scene: The aliens seem to have super-advanced technology, but

1. Their main weapon is a plasma cannon that takes 5 minutes to fire, and hours to set up, while our bombs took a few minutes to set up, and seconds to set off.

2. Their cannon is so fragile that simply ramming a plane into it causes the whole carrier to explode.

3. They have no firewall to protect from viruses, even though they hacked our satellites.
