  • All you people need to get the Hell off your high horse. I have two Dobermans and one of them does the same thing. The other could care less. It just depends on the dog. Your dog is beautiful. Train her how you like and screw all these hippies who wish they owned a Doberman.

  • Mmm answer: this dogs were created to be workdogs, so being at the house makes them go nuts, conclussion: get a house dog

  • @MrGallito88 Yes, everyone should avoid getting the breed of dog they desire, just so they can be sure it wont have separation anxiety. Do you read what you type out ?

  • My Beagle used to that ALL THE TIME when he was a baby. Very heartbreaking to listen to everytime I left the house!

  • beautiful dog

  • thats so cute that she misses you so much you must really be a great owner she loves you .... how much does she weight and height she looks beautiful

  • lol she totally ignores the other dude who's filming.. I guess she adores you x)

  • how r u filming this and ur gone biking

  • Awwww how cute!!! So comical how they become kids! Like how dare you leave me! But really I hope she got better at that separation anxiety isn't so comfy for them!

  • AWWWWWW ;A;

  • he probly just had to go pee really bad.

  • yeah dobermans are so viscious....lol yeah right....great video

  • My dog used to cry like this when my dad left. :c He sobered up over time though. Now he just runs and sits at the window or, if the rest of us are home, under our desks. I remember one time he was howling. it was so sad ;___;

  • that is bad seperation anxiety and the best way to stop it, is to continue to do what he did, short outings and then come back and then leave again

  • thats not sa. she just wants to join him for a ride. they love running. so its frustration.

  • aawww she missed you....thats so stupid its cute lol

  • she just wants her daddy :*(

  • I think your little ritual of paying way too much attention to her saying goodbye as you leave probably has something to do with it. Just ignore her and walk out. Poor dog.

  • oh my god i have a dobbie hes like that he has to be on top of me at all times i will be reading the link

  • thats the cutest thing ever, how she runs around hoping to find him....so cute. but sad :(

  • lol my dobe does the same thing but hes figured out how to open the french doors

  • Damn! Not even 5 seconds and she already freakin' out!

  • hehehe my doberman is a boy and is in my room when he heard the doberman's voice he tought it was his Mom

  • poor baby girl. :( you have a beautiful dog though.

  • @LaurenC2313 Thanks, Stella is now four!

  • pobrecitaaa :(

  • close the door already! The bike is the biggest part i bet.

  • Gorgeous girl you have there.

  • Dobes are very loving and needy. They want to be with their pack, I think she will outgrow it, mine did but the first year was brutal, just awful and he had his sister at home with him, so he wasn't alone. Of course I felt bad.

  • give him a break. he just wants a hunk of owner to munch on for a while, the vicious beast

  • Dobermans are emotionaly inestable... but they are lovely

  • @avetis31 No. When you leave don't say anything for them and don't make a big deal over it. When you come home completely ignore the dog for 10 minutes once they've calmed down. Then you can give them a warm hello and a treat.

  • @avetis31 No. When you come home completely ignore the dog for 10 minutes once they've calmed down. Then you can give them a warm hello and a treat.

  • Thats actually anxiety with your beautiful dobe, Your lucky the dog doesn't have a high level of separation anxiety where they become so frantic that they work themselves up and vomit, defecate everywhere, and pull things off counters, or eat your couch...... things they would NEVER dream of doing when you're home.

  • @vettechick22 That is exactly what my dobe did when I got her at 6months old. Really bad... ate the couch and crap everywhere but no vomit that I recall. I would come home at lunch and cleanup and then again after work. It was a tough few months but she is 6yrs old now and great! Was worth it but I certainly wouldn't want to go through it again!

  • nice looking dog...trying to decide between getting a rottie or a doberman...btw did you ever take care of her separation anxiety and if so how do you take care of it?

  • @mysticnigga read the description for a link to solution to separation anxiety.

  • @mysticnigga Get a dobby, have had both and the dobbies are much smarter. Rottie's are couch potato's. If you like that.

  • I see that this video is from 3 years ago and am curious if you've had any success with the SA issues Stella has. I am a trainer/behavior consultant and also the momma of a former severe SA case. I see more a case of slight anxiety over the absence of a pack member more than an actual case of SA in this particular video and am curious to hear how things have gone since.

  • @girlofgodscountry the SA is gone. Just like humans, maturity does wonders. Stella is now coming on four years of age and is a dream.

  • i have a question for you illnacord

i have a doberman also, he is a 6 month old male and i'm having the same problem. I just recently moved back into my parents house and he has to stay out back more than he is use to.

But i he starts crying hysterically after a minute and will not stop until he comes inside. Any suggestions??

  • awwwwwww!

  • @illnacord

This article could be very helpful: dogbreedinfo (dot) com /separationanziety (dothtm)

    It explains why:

    1. The number one cause of separation anxiety is a human’s lack of leadership.

    2. Separation anxiety can also be due to a lack of exercise.

Please read the entire article, and I hope it helps. Whatever you do, don't give up on your dog. I wish you, and your cute dog the best. Carol :)

  • @avetis31: Thanks for the tip. Here's the thing about dogs, they're like humans in that each is unique. In this sense, Stella has been trained to know when I go when I give her a treat BEFORE I go. She then knows its time to watch the house grounds and not wait by the door whining, etc. Each dog is different but through experience and the tips throughout the comments from dobie owners, communication must be introduced to the dog so they know you are not coming back for an extended time.

  • My dobie has separation issues as well. He's a rescue from an abuse situation, so I guess it's not unexpected. But instead of whining he barks incessantly, and loudly, for hours and paces until I get home. If it's long enough, he'll calm down eventually and sleep, or if someone is there to keep him occupied he'll be okay.

  • How cute! Her crying for you to come back actually worked. :)

  • ]= how sad

This is why a dog should always have another dog so it won't be so lonly :/ dogs work in pacs look @ wolves & hyenas, dingos etc

  • why is part of the video turned 90degrees to the left and then suddenly homeboy fixes it?

  • @evilwatermelon creative expression, because he can, because he did. All of the above.

  • @illnacord that doesnt strike you as somewhat odd? but then again lot of shit happens for no reason.

  • @evilwatermelon Because there was heavy paranormal activity in the house

  • you need to set the camera up with no one else in the house and see how she acts, lol.

I have a male dobe, but he has a cat for company lol who's the boss O.o...

But this was interesting as they don't let you move lol, he is my shadow and I rarely leave him, but that may change one day and I've no idea how he'd act.

Beautiful dog you have tho, wish they'd allow cropped ears here in Britain.

  • My friend's Doberman guide dog does this when he's too sick to be able to use the dog and he has to leave her home. Actually, this is tame compared to her.

Basically it's 'Um, haven't you forgotten someone? An adorable Doberman guide dog perhaps? Get back here! I'm supposed be coming with you! And that's not optional!'

  • We have found a good way to reduce the anxity is it start off by going in and out of the house many times in a short space of time and when we leave for to not make an issue of it and not evevn talk to or give eye contect to our Doberman. Worked a treat.

  • First off you need training. You should only have to give a command once. And if you tell the dog to stay.. she should hold that command intill you return is that really what you expect of her? To hold a sit until whenever you return.? You leaving has nothing to do with a dogs preydrive. This dog is stressed but the separation anxiety isnt too bad.

  • The Cutest thing of the month!!

  • so cute!

  • my girlfriend acts like that too, when i leave the house...she even farts before i leave...it's uncanny!

p.s. nice dog...dobermans are great...i've got one as well...very loyal pets

  • haha my labs get separation anxiety sometimes too! except they chew =p

  • First of all you make WAy to big of a fuss when you leave ... you've given the same "sit "command over 10 times. At that stages the dog is already under higher stress level because you , as his boss , are not clear and determinated.

secondly, you come in and praise her when she's still making all the noise , teaching her that making noise is what she needs to do if she wants to get you back ...

  • Didn't even last two seconds ;( Yeah, some dogs really hate it when their owners go away

  • 4) then go back inside, take your jacket off and put the keys down. ignore the dog for a while.

    5) when the dog has calmed down, praise it.

if you do this many times, the dog will learn that even though you leave the house, you will come back. ^__^

  • maybe you should try that thing i saw in "it's me or the dog"-episode.

    1) Do your usual going out- routine: put on your jacket, take the keys etc...

    2) Ignore the dog even if they are whining or crying. Just get out of the door.

    3) stay outside the door about 3 seconds.

  • She's like "If i sit good, will you pleasssse come back?"

  • that's sad :)

  • You have a beautiful dog.

  • Thank you. Stella is now over 3 years old. -illnacord

  • Aww poor Stella! I would want him to leave me either ; )

  • doberman r too big to have em inside an apartment. they need space

  • @j4lyoungeriyohan

ABOLUTELY AGREE...big dogs have no place and it's cruel to keep them in small apartments. They, ans other small breeds even, need to RUN RUN RUN!

  • No one lets their dogs run around in the house...if you want dogs to get exercise you bring them outside for a walk.

  • as long as they get their walks everyday, they're fine.

  • would you prefer he's another dog left and unloved and have to be put to sleep?

  • contrary to popular belief, turning the camera sideways is actually counter-helpful

  • LOLL I lovbe my Dobe.Such babies!

  • my doberman farts really badly so i cracked up when i heard you point it out also mine has some seperation anxiety

  • Diet has lots to do with the farts. I got rid of the milk from the diet and farts disappeared.

  • he has never had milk... strictly dog food

  • what was the point of taking the bike out he was gone for like a minute

  • Heh, because I was already on a bike ride when my friend busted out the camera to show how Stella behaved when I was gone.

  • @animefan7592 idk if he's a big bikerbut dogs recognizes cues of when their owners are about to leave. Jacket, keys, shoes. Whatever is your norm when you're about to leave they know.

  • This is very true. For Stella, it's the KEYS. Once those keys jingle, she's in tune be it outside or inside.

  • @illnacord has it gotten better? I just got a ttoodle a month ago(hes 3 moths now) and I can tell he has early SA. Im starting to get worried.

  • My Dobe would shake and tremble when ever I left and when ever he saw me again. That dog was the closest thing to a child I ever had. Dobe's act waaaayyyy too much like kids it is seriously scary at times.

  • i think you have to teach the dog not to be selfish and to want you all the time,

again its teaching the dog this, many owners sadly dont teach their dogs anything

  • True. She is selfish, a brat and very spoiled.

  • very normal for dobermans and puppies in general i hope its goten better.

  • It has, thanks.

  • The first mistake i see is that you dont break your dogs "stay" command. that should definitely be done. try tying your dog to the door. move away from the dog slowly with a command like "ill be back" stop at about 10 15 feet away, if he/she gets excited ignore it, when it calms down, go back and give a treat. if he gets excited on ur way back to him. stop and wait till he calms down. slowly increase the distance to a point where he cant see you. do this at home. dogs have no sence of time

  • what i learned is that this is normal behavior (a pack is supposed to stay together) rather than some sort of psychological problem.

in this case, i saw a pack leader who was not willing to put in the extra time required to put this dobe in a calm state of mind. this sort of thing can become a life long exercise if you don't put extra effort in while still young

  • Es preciosa!!!!

  • dewclaws rremoved..?????

  • Yes, I haven't yet met a Doberman with dewclaws. A lot of other large dogs also have the dewclaws removed at birth - one such example is the Great Dane's.

  • man u have a nice house

  • Lulu-how do you reccommend exercising high energy dogs like dobermans then? I have two dobergirls who would be OFF THE WALL if I never let them run..... And running, as far as my training tells me, is cardio...

  • Dog parks and open trails, ocean sandy beaches work great. Otherwise get a gentle leader and run your doberman, you can get exercise as well.

  • its bad habit to tell your dog to stay and then leave them with out releasing them from their stay.

  • I agree. Also, the repeated command over and over doesn't work . Once you say a command and the dog doesn't follow it you are telling the pet that it is an option for them to not be obedient. Repeating a command over and over to "really really" make sure they understand is frustrating to watch. This is exactly why the dog doesn't listen and saw no reason to stay seated for the owner.

  • Crate training is correct. When we left we'd give our Doberman carrots. The crate was a secure room for her. Although we did have another Dobie that knew how to get out of her no matter what we did. These dogs are sheer joy and the most elegant of all.

  • Great video. The poor dear was so upset when you/he left. The house looks awesome. *likes architecture* Is there a video that gives us a tour of the house by chance? If not, that's fine. I understand. =)

By the way, my only complaint about this video is that the guy turns the camera sideways. Although I totally understand why people do it ( I get the urge to do it too ), it's really hard to watch.

  • Heh, only 6'2", 200lbs of a little asian man ;-)

  • Nicely handled the racist idiot troll, well done. You handle you dog well. Dogs are so great, loyal and wonderful companions. Don't let your dobbie get fat. As they get older. they get lazy and eat, gain weight. You should run that beautiful animal every day. Then they're tired and will sleep so you can do errands and leave, with out stressing the Dog out. Just a suggestion, ride the bike with the dog on a leash (not on street or side walk, like a track). You both get exercise. Cheers

  • You shouldn't exercise your dog by making it run with you or anything really cardio related. Especially with a dog as loyal as a doberman, who will risk hurting themselves for you. My friend used to go bike riding everyday with his doberman and when it was 9 it had a heart attack due to the routine of strenuous exercise (according to the vet). MY POINT IS, exercise is good, but never overdo it

  • If the dog is young, in shape exercise is good, even running along with a bike, with a few caveats. Ground soft/hard? temperature? We aren't talking about continuous long distance. As a dog gets older, scale back. 9 is too old. Watch them close. Running dogs is safe & good for them, but they need checkups, some dogs have joint issues etc. I get your point, but common sense prevails. The greyhound group uses a park in the morning to let them run free. Hounds & Dobies are lazy & pack on pounds.

  • the key to avoding this is proper crate trianing--when you raise them in the crate when they are not with you it teaches them to be content in their den. I have had several and none of them behaved in this manner becasue of this trick.

  • just saw this video and loved the fact that if your dog misses you that much means that you really look after him and respect him coming from a dog lover.

  • ooohh...! she is making me so sad when she cry!! give her a big kiss for me, she is so cute.

  • She is so funny, I have dobe too of 8 months now and she was screamin like that at 2 months hhehehe, not any more :D

  • Awe... I'll pet her :-).

  • Aww, my Dobie used to do this.

  • Stella is the best name for a dog. When she runs off, you can go "Stellaaaaaaaaaaa."

    lol.

  • Yep, the ladies be screaming like that all the time. Marlon Brando style.

  • @thefluffyshrimp rofl!!! ROFL ROFL ROFL!!

  • @thefluffyshrimp so weird, we just started reading street car named desire in class! ;D

  • yerp dude ur dog loves u alot

  • Aww that is too cute! Your dog must really love you =)

  • nothing to do with love. The dogs not balanced

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the tip.

  • would love to see a video of the new behavior!

  • my gawd.. call the dog whisperer!! this is too heartbreaking!!

  • Aaw...I have two Dobes myself. The older one used to cry whenever we left but now she's too lazy to. ;p The baby still cries when we take the older one out without her.

  • LOL. Yeah, age will mature the dog. Stella is now coming on three years and she has super chilled out and is much more wise. Yes, having a nice beef soup bone ready to go when you leave helps. She knows it's reward time and doesn't experience SA to this degree.

  • oh goodness she is breaking my heart

  • My 2 year old Feist (Blizzard) does the same thing, except he only does it when me or my dad leave. He also doesn't get along with my other dog. He's a rottweiler mixed with chow. Very cute and his name is Ace. Ace gets along with Blizzard just fine until Blizzard bites him. I really hope we can get these problems fixed.

  • my doberman takes my pillow off the bed he doesnt tear it uo he slobers on it and thats with other dogs i have as well

  • it's funny how similar the big dobermans behave like min-pins even though I've read that there is no relation between the two.

  • he left. suck it up!

  • awwh my baby boy cries like that too!! but hes a half pitt half lab

  • I think a Kong toy stuffed with all kinds of yummy treats of her liking will destract her from noticing you even left.

I'm getting a Pomeranian in May and I'm going to ty my hardest to not let that hapen because it can get annoying. D:

  • what crop does she have?

  • It's a middle crop. Best suggestion is to go to your vet with a picture of the you like. This way there is no confusion from your description and the vet's intrepretation.

  • My Doberman does this too, it is so annoying.

  • It gets better with maturity and the tips many youtube members have posted below. Good luck!

  • Oh, this is NOTHING compared to my Westie when I put him in his crate and get my car keys. He sounds like he's getting murdered.

  • Tell me about it. There are lots of comments below that describe hints on how to combat S.A. Also check out the link in the description. Good luck!

  • stella sit. stay.. STAY.... HEY! sit... stay... stay.... no STAY!..... sit! good girl.... stay... STAY!... sit! heyyy.. HEY!.. sit.. stayyyyyy..

just try walking out the door not saying a single word.. dont even look at her..

  • good shit man lmao

  • lol my doberman does the same thing with my mom

  • This owner needs some training himself. Owner should not be talking to the dog like that instead learn how to train the dog to get over her anxiety.

  • i know what hes going through my doberman puppy does the same thing go too my page and click on puppy gets camera shy

  • wow.... you could tell she didn't like being left alone one bit.....

  • reminds me of my giant schnauzer

  • my schnauzer has this same problem but instead of running around he has a high pitch howl kinda thing its annoying but hes getting better..

  • you can fix that easy by Not making it a big deal when you leave,Just walk out the door.. and when you get home, give her pets, but dont make it a big deal either. I am also a dobe owner

  • i just adopted a small dog. have had s female dobe for 5 years. new dog has serious SA & hates the crate but must be crated when Im not home for now. He barks his fool head off and from video footage I see my dobe is starting that barking now too. this is BAD news! my dobe NEVER had SA behaviors. Is there a "fix" for SA? Need to fix the little dog and the dammage rubbed off on my dobe thus far.

  • thats unbelievable, i read they dont like to be left alone, but i didnt think it would happen so soon like that.

  • wow that was instantaneous.

  • You did a good job training your dobie then!

  • I found it is way more comfortable for the dobie if you have two, so I have two ,very little anxiety when we leave. Best breed ever!!!

  • my neck hurts

  • Ok so, its clear that a dob cant be left alone, but i was wondering, if i owned a doberman which is my dream would the dob be okey left "alone"(and by that i meant without me) but having as company a german shepherd?

  • Much better. This video shows what SA is, just be aware of it and train from the get-go with that in mind.

  • 2 dobermans are best

    or doberman and chiwawa

    Doberman and Mastiff maybe?

    or Doberman and Great dane

getting two is much better than one just imagine what they must feel like when your gone for long

but i guess u could make it up by giving them a long walk or let them off the lead in a big open field :P

  • Why are you making such a fuss when you leave the dog? No wonder the dog has such bad anxiety. Perhaps trying to ignore him when you leave and not make a fuss of him when you return.

  • =) Thanks. Information for the Doberman Pinscher enthusiasts and curious.

  • You leaving is an event... of course she will be anxious. You must not make this an event. Cesar Milan's method could help you alot.

  • Thanks for the tip.

  • my min pin does that too

  • my sister`s siberian husky does that when she leaves him alone whining, barking, everything

  • Omg, that was so sad. Your doberman is really cute.

  • Thanks. Stella is 2 years old now, filled out, lean!

  • Is it separation anxiety or she is just upset because she has to stay at home? I didn't know dogs got separation anxiety.

  • It has to do with the particular breed - doberman pinscher was bred to be close to its owner - a one owner dog.

  • No It's not a flaw in the breed even though they are 'velcro' dogs they can be trained to deal with seperation anxiety any breed will do this.

  • Wow, no wonder your dog is neurotic. First, you put her in a sit... which has NO RELEASE. Teach her a real "stay," one where you don't have to repeat yourself 20 times, and teach her to HOLD IT until released.

Next, stop making such a drama of you leaving the house. You're ENCOURAGING her behavior by making you leaving the most dramatic part of her day.

Your dog needs to learn to RESPECT you, not be DEPENDENT on you... and you need to stop reinforcing her bad behaviors.

  • Thanks.

  • poor thing :(

  • It is easy to solve I did it with my german shepherd - you have to leave him behind the door and then come back quick to show him that you will always be back. then each time you increase the time span of leaving him alone.

do 3-4 time per session and after 1 week anxiety is gone
