Common knowledge that as many as 3/4ths of those POWs subjected to torture talked. Something we learned in boot camp, 1989.
We were told that we were to withstand the torture to the best of our ability and that our actions would be reviewed after released. We were also told not to worry if we talked after actually having been tortured; most did. McCain himself was shown as an example of a man who was subjected to horrible torture and succumbed and was forgiven by senior officials.

I like the one person's comment on McCain breaking his arms when he was shot down. He doesn't understand what happens when your wing is shot off and your airspeed is 500 knots. He was lucky that the canopy cleared before the seat fired.

Also, if the CIA had these films, how are the snippets being released and once something is release, it is impossible now to retract. Are you one of those 9/11 truthers too?
This is almost as good as the story of the two POWs telling the same story about McCain and it turned out that one was never in the military and the other was never in Vietnam.

I really don't how to respond to this. Most conspiracy theories are products of Hollywood. Maybe you should do something to clear your mind and then use unbiased source for your information. In war, propaganda is just propaganda. I spent 8 years in the Marine Corps and 4 years as a DOD contractor and I have heard many of these stories that were just that. Compared to most politicians, McCain's life is an open book. You have a brain, learn to use it.

I was drafted in December 1967 and I went.... I remember back in late 1968 hearing broadcasts by John McCain. We referred to him as "Hanoi John" the admiral's kid. This bastard signed confessions, gave broadcasts, and appeared in films denouncing the USA. Hundreds of other POWs did not do this. WE REMEMBER, Hanoi John! Common knowledge that as many as 3/4ths of those POWs subjected to torture talked. Something we learned in boot camp, 1989.
We were told that we were to withstand the torture to the best of our ability and that our actions would be reviewed after released. We were also told not to worry if we talked after actually having been tortured; most did. McCain himself was shown as an example of a man who was subjected to horrible torture and succumbed and was forgiven by senior officials.

In any case, ADM Stockdale who was the Senior Officer Pres. during McCains stay clearly said that McCain held the faith.

When I was in the military - and that was very recently - we were instructed that if captured we were to provide NO information and to withstand whatever torture was conducted AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

Can someone check out the US.News 1973 about the interview where McCain claims he traded sensitive military info to the Vietnamese for medical records. The sensitive info that he released include package route which is the altitude of the plane, bombing target, air plane turns. If that is really true, then McCain is not a hero but a traitor. Those sensitive info led to more US airplanes being shot down.

What I find most interesting about this video is the comment about the "sealed" classified videos that McCain made. Maybe McCain was saying the truth in those videos. Maybe it's time that we demand that those videos be "declassified" and opened for all Americans to see.

Why is the individual making these comments not identified and his voice disguised? And why are the former POWs who "hate John McCain" for "being a trator" not identified by name?
And why are these instances of collaberation not documented?
If McCain really IS as horrible as alleged here, shouldn't these "famous POWs" who can document his giving statements to the North Vietnamese be identified- not for political gain, but for the good of the nation?

The only reason John McCain has given to oppose the GI bill is that people would leave to get a college education. Some of the most honorable veterans on Capital Hill, John Warner and Jim Webb, support the GI bill. There is no honor standing against this bill. To McCain this is class issue and he has made it clear that he only supports the "haves" and not the "have nots." McCain needs desperate "have nots" for his endless wars.

Excellent posting, Tess. I have an entire package sent by Task Force Omega which includeds copies of the actual articles where McCain was interviewed...with his own words. I also have copies of some declassified documents. I came upon these quite by accident. I had told a friend of mine last year that I was leaning towards John McCain. I can't quote his response but it wasn't pretty. I was so shocked by this, I asked him if he had any proof of these allegations. I got it, and then some!

If these politicians are going to run on their military service. Then they should release all documents relating to that service. While running for the same office, Dem. John Kerry did the same thing, not releasing records related to his service. If you are going to claime the title of "hero", then you should have some courage, to go along with it!
