  • Now try it on the hardest setting where those dragons run at you super fast, stop playing the easy setting!

  • Wow nice quality for a 2007 video

  • it's basically skyrim without the shaders.

  • I remember this game, I used to play it around at my cousins house on holidays when I was younger, great game for the time, he had B17 bomber as well

  • I remember a cheat by passing through the top left of the screen and coming out the bottom right so you only have to 1 or 2 levels before your at the final dungeon. Finished it on hard only by luring the bosses out and then running back and taking the crown piece when he wasn't there. Kinda a cheap way to win I guess but still satisfying. One of the first games I ever finished since back in the day most games didn't end.

  • This game and Tron (the one you shoot the disc at your enemies) were my 2 absolute favorite games.

  • One of my all time favorite games. Thanks for the upload.

  • I loved this game so much when I was a kid, it was my fav!!! Thank you for posting this!! I remember the sounds so well... I have the intellivision at my mothers... have to get it back and play.

  • Great game. I still love the dramatic bass tone that plays when you reassemble the throne. As video game endings go, it's terse, but holy hell, does it feel good.

  • This is the first video game I ever played. It's still one of my favorites.

  • oh god i remeber this but i forgot the sounds until now.....i want this again

  • Wow this video brings back memories!

  • i'm really glad i was born when i was.

  • If you guys like D&D then you will definitely looove this webseries called Walking In Cirlces! Its an epic adventure about dragons n stuff! Check it out if you get some time! youtube/wictheseries

  • Thumbs up if Billy Tolley brought you here! (aka DJ Inferno) :)

  • Holy crap! I remember this game!

  • This is coming from a 90's kid...What the @#$% is going on in this game?!

  • What a great game! I loved this one almost as much as B-17 bomber with Intellivoice!

  • Does anyone remember an intellivision game where there was a dragon at the center of a dungeon, it was two player and you had to shoot arrows/spells at the dragon from a distance to defeat it. I KNOW this was an intellivision game but can't figure out what the name was anywhere!

  • @judebarnes Swords and Serpents, I think it was called. Arthur and Merlin were the characters...Overhead style game, Arthur just had a sword stuck out in front of him you poked enemies with, Merlin cast fireballs and "destroy walls" and such. I think it was an Activision title for the Intellivision, but I don't remember for sure. Saw the dragon at the end but never beat it.

  • @judebarnes my bad, it was actually an IMAGIC game for the Intellivision.

Google "swords and serpents","intellivision". There are some reviews up for it.

  • @judebarnes ROFL and I just found out why I never beat it. No one did, the designer admitted there was no way to win the game because he ran out of room on the cartridge. The reward was just finding the dragon and his initials were in the dragon's lair.

  • Love that game. Intellivision was the bomb back in the day. Brings back good memories.

  • I used to remember this as the best game ever made. I dont anymore. Thanks a lot you bastard!!! JK - it actually brings back a lot of memories of my childhood.

  • Diablo II is really just an embellished version of this game.

This is not a dud comment it's coming from a Diablo II player with a level 16 character.

  • best console ever

  • It looks good but I prefer tabletop good job with the game I give this a like

  • Not sure if it works in all versions, but you can sometimes go to the top left part of the screen, and hit diagonal up+left and warp to the bottom right. Not sure if they meant for that to be there but yeah... fun way to beat the game in minutes. *lol*

  • This is like some prehistoric nerd game just like Dark Tower.

  • This game is so realistic!!

  • I STILL REMEMBER GETTING TERRIFIED,WHEN THE CREEPY MUSIC LET ME KNOW THE DRAGON WAS NEAR

  • man i use to love this game

  • My neighbor had this game, I was in awe of it. The soundtrack is so spares, it heightens everything.

  • You can actually see how this game influenced later games. The randomly generated dungeons that reveal themselves as you walk forward is basically Diablo.

  • what a thing on the monday last week i found this game thogever wqith a nitendo sapper a genesis and some old home computers what luck

  • I could play for hours. My son found a cheat in the game...hehe! He was two.

  • I rember playing this game for hours. I found a hack, I am not sure if others know about. If I remember right.... if you go into the upper corner and use the diagonal key a couple times it brings you into the middle of the map and you can bypass a few mountains.

  • Were the red mountains harder? And did those little black dots mean there was something near because and they were it's droppings? :D

The memories are so damn hazy....

  • This game scared me when i was little. i never dared to play it

  • @AegisKleais It's hard for new gamers to believe but the scare factor of the dragon after all the quietness was the thing that did it.I always though of it as a bear.

  • I am so glad I am not a gamer of that generation.

  • Very neat. Brings back a lot of childhood memories. Thanks!

  • Ah, memories. Always made me jump when the dragon would appear, even with the sound cue--never knew if he was right around the next reveal.

  • @AegisKleais You've led a full life.

  • WOW so cool! Where can i find a time machine and get this fast paced super cool graphics game?

  • well played, man. i remember i had no idea how to play this game right when I was a kid. 10 gold coins for you!

  • Awesome game. I wore many an Intellivsion pad out in the day on that game! (And that was way before I even knew what D&D really was.) Anyone else ever discover the corner "warp trick"? Ah... back in those innocent days when I'd gladly use a cheat code, and not feel that it spoiled the game....

  • This is an awesome game! I used to play this for hours!

  • Its a dude running around stroking his penis wtf

  • Hmmmm.... So it's kind of a precursor to zelda? Looks pretty cool!

  • Hello. I am going around posting comments on Youtube in reference to Kaillera Client. With certain emulators enabling it's support, it allows you to play classic/retro games like Atari 2600, Intellivision, Colecovision, NES, etc & even MAME (coin-op arcade games emulator), versus other players, while online. I am attempting to attract interest in the hope of getting together some classic/retro game loves, so we can play each other online. That's my goal, so, let me know if you're interested!

  • I spent so, so, so many hours on this game. I remember being so scared when I'd hear that snake sound.

  • @AegisKleais

Haha well I'm not out to prove to the world that I'm some sort of bad ass or anything. But I have been planing a review of the game that I've never got around to. And if I ever get to it, then it will of course have some footage of me beating the purple mountain.

  • God this fucking game scared the shit out of me when I was little

  • @AegisKleais

Yeah I know, I get a comment about that at least once a month lol. I have beat the game on all difficulties many of times.

  • i love that sound at the start man it brings me back this game is a classic

  • I used to play Treasure of Tarmin all the time when i was little, i still pick it up and play. ANYWAY, I just got this one and i really want to be able to play it but I dont have the manual or overlays... so if anyone could help, that'd be great :P

  • 2:26 penis??

  • @TeamMMH not even close.

  • What a great game.

  • did anyone else almost crap there pants when that man-bear-pig creature chases you in this game!?!?!

  • I remember this as a kid. The neighbors had it, used to watch them play all the time. I couldn't remember the title to save my life. Funny that it turned out to Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. Anyway, wasn't there supposed to a dragon in the last mountain? Or were you supposed to avoid it?

  • @jklockers

There's 2 dragons in the last mountain. I kill both of them in this video.

  • I wish they would make this game for wii... I freakin' LOVED IT as a kid. My friend had it and I would go over his house all the time and ask to play it as soon as I got there.

  • I was a dragon slaying mofo!!!!

  • wow this is the first video game i remember playing. i had this and tennis for intellivision..this was my fav though

  • i remember when i was like 5 years old trying to take a nap and my dumb brother would be playing this game with its dumb weird sounds keeping me up.

  • I'd like to see a video of beating this on hard if you can pull it off (or if somebody else has one).

  • One of my favorite Intellivision games. I love the sound effect at the very end when you beat it. I used to crank the volune to max.

  • @74brooklynboi

    If you watch

    watch?v=-m5v0JJSNyc

You will see that I actually made a video about the end noise :)

  • Geez.... I can't even think of all the hours I spent playing this. Takes me back to Living in Colorado in the 80's

  • This was one of my favorite intellivision games, I don't think I ever beat it though. I still have all my intellivision games and the intellivision console but you can't even press the buttons on the cheap controllers they had, my thumbs always got red and the those cards you put over the numbers either got lost or ripped apart.

  • After I beat this game on all skills, I started playing it in "thief mode" where I didn't allow myself to fire any arrows, and just had to outrun all the monsters. It took me about 200 attempts, but I finally beat it that way on the hardest level. Took tons of luck, and sacrificing one life to pick up a boat and another to pick up the first half of the crown. (And getting the second half of the crown before being vaporized.) (You needed to get a lucky board where you didn't need an axe or key.)

  • one of my old favorites

  • looks very angband/rogue-ish

  • Water Works? :P

  • @sinistermoon INTELLIVISION DEFINITELY LIVES! Thanks for your funny reply, but it is I who must bow to your superior technical wisdom. While I can whip the purple mountain I have no idea how to record myself playing a video game and post it to YouTube. So, I think you rule.

  • Hey, fun to see this posted here, but you're playing the easier level. My bet is that you are as scared of the fast-moving hydra as most people are. I've got my original cartridge and Intellivision from when it was first released, but it took becoming an adult to beat the hardest level of this. Couldn't do it as a little kid. Definitely one of the top 10 video games of all times.

  • @tulipthehobbit

Your assumptions are incorrect. I have beat it in every mode several times. My bet, is that you get scared of the slow moving BLOBS! Haha no I'm just kidding. But you should totally make a video of you taking on the purple mountain! I believe in you oh great tulipthehobbit!

    INTELLIVISION LIVES!

  • I can't get over the fact that it look like he has a 3 foot boner

  • Wow, nice quality. Not a single artifact in quality! Awesome stuff~

  • I remember playing this game with my buds ages ago. Does this mean I'm old?

  • @ronofontario

No. Because then that would mean that I'm old lol.

  • @sinistermoon OK then we're both old. Those little wipper snappers... lol

  • @ronofontario absolutely, mate

  • Thanks for the memories man !!!

I played this all the time and night stalker baseball . Remember yeeeeer ooooouuuuut !!! Funny stuff .

  • This was the best Intellivision game back in the day. Brings back memories.

  • As a kid I never quite figured this game out. I didn't know what the fuck.

  • This game is actually VERY hard, I can't get past the first cave

  • World of Warcraft, eat your heart out!!

  • lol looks very gay

  • @doublin23

Try beating this game on the hardest setting. I assure you it will hand your ass to you.

  • @sinistermoon i didnt say it would be hard, i just said it looks gay lol

  • @doublin23

Well, if you can look at a game and think it looks gay while admitting that's it hard, then you just might be gay :)

Nah I'm just kidding. You're of course allowed to have an opinion. Doesn't mean you're correct though lol. I think it's an amazing game that you should try.

  • @sinistermoon haha, but i dont have an intellivision :(

  • @doublin23

You can pick one up for less than the price of a new game. Or of course you can just try it using an emulator like Bliss.

  • @sinistermoon hmmm i didnt think of an emulator, maybe ill try it sometime :D

  • @doublin23 You do realize that this system was made in 1980, yes? I suppose you play call of duty and bullshiz like that..

  • @wackyluke444 lol yes obviously i know its an old system, and yes i do play call of duty, but i dont know what i said before this comment so i cant really say anything else. haha

  • @wackyluke444 ah, i found what i said, and i still stand behind my comment, because 1.) its my own opinion. 2.) i dont have a problem with old school games, they just have to be fun, and this doesnt look all that fun to me. 3.) yeah it was made in 1980, but i mean come on mario was made around the same time (i think) and that is still a freaking classic to this day! i mean im no D&D fan, so i guess i wouldnt really "appreciate" this game

  • @doublin23 Fair enough, point made.

  • @wackyluke444 lol thank you. and im not saying that no one should like this, because theres an audience for every type of game, why do you think they made the wii. :P LOL!

  • LOL, I wonder what the budget for a game like this was in 1982, and what would it be today?

  • It still is intense.

  • The bat doesn't hurt you but would mask the sound of any other monsters

  • This game used to scare the crap out of me!

  • @bassage13

Lmao !!! same here, i used to turn the lights out and the sound up....ahhh memories.

  • @bassage13 same here. You'd hear that dragon breathing and stomping around and it was only a matter of time until he jumped out and ate your ass. Those things were fast and nasty. lol. I'd practically piss myself trying to get away from it. lol

  • @bassage13 me too! the basic structure is genius: discover the unknown, anything might happen

  • @bassage13 Oh my god, me too!!! I'd hear that noise the dragon makes and I'd have to hide my face!!

I was 3 or 4, it's one of my most vivid memories at that age!

  • @bassage13 HAHAHA me too :D I didn't even remember this but seeing this video brought it all back. Amazing. It was so damn scary when you couldn't know what you were going to stumble upon.

    Just wow... so legendary :)

  • Awesome game, this and Treasure of Tarmin. Brought back memories for me too. Thanks for posting!

  • Impressive for the era and the console, I had this game, but I was too young to appreciate it! :)

  • Intellivision rules! just got my new one off ebay after my dad threw the old system out with over 45 games 10 years back! tut tut it was a crime against humaninty! anyway cant wait to get my hands on this gem. credit for posting, id just like to add i now have all working the intellivision a master system, NES, super NES, N64, PS2, xbox and a broken xbox 360 anybody see the pattern??? they just dont make 'em like they used too!!

  • Thanks for posting. This brought back a lot of good memories.

  • The pixels... it burns.... IT BURNS!

  • Graphics may be terrible, but you'll never experience the era of video games with no boundaries.

Now you've gave jump 'n run, and first person shooter and that's about it. You live in a boring age for video games.

  • GAWD I love this game! Hell Intellevision is the system I still play the most lol (I have Wii that explains that) This game though is so exciting! The anticipation of what's in the dark! Not sure why they'd stamp the D&D label on it, all you get is a bow and arrow. Too simple to be D&D but whatever.

  • Holy shit! This takes me back!

Loved this game! Had an Intellivision -2 with the voice module foe B-17 Bomber, Space Spartans and Bomb-Squad!

You got to admit us gamers of the 80's (not you little goofy pukes that play online for 30 hours) started this movement! If I still had mine intact, I'd hook this up before I'd add a Playstation!!

  • awesome game, i used to make my dad play it when i was 5 so i could watch. i was too freaked out to play it myself :) how can such a simple game instill so much suspence? when i hear the soft growl of the dragon, somewhere in the blank green of unexplored maze i still feel that same fear of 25 years ago! bravo for uploading!

  • What an awesome game! I remember playing this as a kid. It would take me ages to finish. It's kinda funny but back then it felt so atmospheric, so scary. First the eerie sounds then creature kinda jumps out at you from around the next corner! Exciting stuff (back in the day) and good memories! Thanks for the vid!

  • you're so right. The suspense that was built from the animal tracks and sound effects and how the beasts just pop up when you open another pod was kinda scary.

I'm sure those are watching this who didn't grow up in the 80's are laughing at how we were entertained by this but damn, this was about as much action you can pull off on a console back then.

  • Kinda funny this game has more freedom than FFXIII

  • It's easy to mock now, but I remember seeing this running on a c64 in WhSmiths (UK store) circa 1984 and being completely blown away by the graphics and sound. Actually, even now I think the sound design is pretty good. Also I think this was about £35 when this came out. In the 1980s! And people bitch about games prices now..

  • Oh, I used to love this game!!! Brings back great memories. Anyone know of anything similar to it nowadays for PS3 or the Wii?

  • Not sure if its on PS3 but the PSP has D&D: Tactics. Its a little slow to play but i really enjoyed it.

  • should have insert pinball wizard ~ ohhh babe ~

  • ugh ppl duno what dnd is

  • This kinda contradicts the idea that gameplay was better back in the days.

  • @DroidLife Actually it doesn't; this was a game on the Intellivision and it utilized the game to the best of its ability. It's one of the first games to use hit points, random dungeons, inventory, specialized monsters and to actually have an ending. It's the first one that did it all in one game to my knowledge.

  • LOL that must have been created in DOS 1.0 for PC. IF I have wrong? Well give me the corect new know info history.

  • @scannercicret

You have wrong. To get the better of the know to be the future, perhaps, the purpose to be of you can is possible to be of the know to learn ENGLISH!

  • No Ads yet.

  • No ads as yet, but...favorited! Do what I can to help a fellow get paid.

  • No ads... I wonder if it would help if I click refresh all day? lol

  • No ads here.

  • Better than World of Warcraft. :D

  • Holy blast from the past. We had nearly every game as kids (over 50). My little brother really liked this one. It's hard to believe that 1982 was almost 28 years ago.

  • This looks like fun too bad we never owned it. We have most of the other good ones though.

  • not down yet!

tell me if you get it through...

  • Dolla dolla bill yall! Dolla dolla Bill!

  • Not yet.

  • Love this game. I like counting arrows :-)

  • One of Intellivision's best.. by far.

  • If I had this as a kid I would have loved it.

  • use to rock the hell out of this game..my dad actually had the intelivision with a bunch of games, but i would hijack it at night..there is a end to this game, with a dragon" i think " when you beat himyou get a crown, when you touch it theirs a long "DOOOONNNN" and the game freezes...RAD

  • This game is out of control.

  • why isnt this game on "Intellvision lives" for the ps2 & xobx?

  • Do the bats not harm you at all?

  • No they do not harm you. But they make noise and that can prevent you from hearing anything that maybe nearby.

  • Ah, OK. I knew there was some sort of trade-off. I like the design of this game a lot, I just sorta wish it had a visual arrow indicator :) Even if you had to go into the quiver to count the arrows.

  • I've always been curious about this game but never got to see it played. Thanks for posting!

  • I can play it on every mode, pussy.

  • i learned how to add and subtract by playing this game (counting the arrows i picked up)

do you have mouse trap? could you post that? i long to hear it's monotonous sound track.

  • Does this have stats, inventory, levelling, that sort of thing?

  • I owned and played this a lot as a kid. It's one of those games that are good and bad at the same time.

NES came along and blew it away.

  • brings me back i loved this game

im going to dowload the intellivision pack

    for my xbox360 today

  • This has to be the best of the "vision" games.

  • wooooow!! did this bring back memories. I used to come home late at night in high school, then play this till 2am. I used to love the sound of getting the crown.

  • Gotta play the fast speed!

  • I still love the sound effects in this . . . the big "whoosh" as you enter each stage, the snake hiss, the dragon growling, the terrible noise when your man gets hit, and the commanding tone when you pick up the last part of the crown and beat the game.

Loved this as a kid and it's still really cool.

  • Thanks for showing the ending...and congrats on getting the crown!

  • still better graphics then runescape

  • Awesome. Thanks for posting. I used to play this. I believe this was my first VG.

  • Man, I swear I used to play this on my old Commodore Vic 20 computer in the 80's. It was this game, but it did not come on a floppy disk or cartridge. It was loaded from a cassette tape player!! It must have been a pirated version or something cause I had tons of games on that 1 cassette tape. Weird!

  • omg i remember my dad playing this for hours when i was a kid!

  • Okay I am a computer idiot (I am so mad!)

I tried the bliss thing and looked up roms,I tried to download them and my computer says it doesn't recognize the file and has to find something to open it with.I literally don't know how to make this game run.I need someone to hold my hand and guide me through or something.

    Can you help

  • Is there any download for the PC out there for this game?

This was my favorite all time game back in the day!

If there is no download how can I play once again?

  • Yeah look up Bliss Intellivision emulator and then Intellivision roms and you should be good.

  • what do i need to hook my intellivision up? I have the original console and i have a radio shack game RF thing with the 75 ohm input that i got for it. I just ne
