even if leehom can sing better than jay, jay still make more money than leehom by his album sales (this is fact). and i think jay's voice is more unique than leehom (this is what i think, it maybe biased).
So what if jay makes more money? Does that give anyone a reason to idolise him anymore than another who does not make as much money? If money is the thing jay is concerned about, i can tell you money is, was and will never (be)leehom's concern. Leehom said once I am a musician or artiste, not a business man so he devotes himself to music and other non profit stuff like charity.
Unique just means different from rest, does not mean it is better but for leehom, his voice is unique and the best.
Erm i did say money is not leehom's main concern but that doesn't mean he should not try to make money whenever opportunity comes in his way. After all, he needs money to do charity and performances but theres a limit to how greedy he is for all this money. I agree with beteast. Total opposite of wot u said. Read Leehoms lyrics! Hes an ABC .. which is why his lyrics are so simple. Plus he puts random english words in his songs which make it look like he couldnt think how to express it in chinese. Read jays lyrics and you'll see theyre more meaningful.
That's because Jay has a professional lyricist Vincent Fang write his lyrics, so obviously they are going to sound more "meaningful." Both of these artists are both extremely talented, so why is there a need to compare? Can't we just say both are great and leave it at that?

They are both very acclaimed singers and composers. As for me, I cannot compare Jay Chou and Wang Lee Hom overall. After all, their songs are not that similar in comparison, and their styles of singing are different. Let's just say that they create and interpret songs the way they want them to be created and interpreted. I mean that each has his own style of conveying his songs. And it is because of this that both singers and their songs are very well-loved by the people. :D

Leehom was not the first to have combined east/west together. He admits this himself. But he is the first Artist to have used this PROFESSIONALLY. When you listen to his chinked-out music, there is actually a historical background to the elements, not just some random Chinese instruments incorporated in the song. Jay Chou has been using Chinese elements in his songs for a while, but you couldn't tell if it was Beijing Opera or Kunqu, or anything else. But for Leehom, it can.
exactly. a lot of ppl mix that up when they discuss chinked out. these elements are much more formalized in the gai shi ying xiong album. And the Xin Zhong De Ri Yue album used actual tribal melodies/instruments from Tibet that aren't heard as often, as say, erhu. Other than that, Jay and lee hom did good covers of eachother. Though I think what everybody really wanted was a duet lol.
I like both leehom and jay songs and musics.. both of them are hot.. and we can hear that from the songs they sang, wei yi and hei se you mo, the vocal range of leehom is much more wider.. to my opinion, no offence, i feel that leehom sing better than jay and he more nice looking than jay!! I agree, just because you go to school doesn't mean you can achieve Leehom's level. Obviously you need hard work and perservernce, and I think it's unfair to discredit Leehom's work just because he went to Williams musical school. I don't think it's a level playing field to compare the 2 - Lee Hom is American and he's had the luxury of the best access to Hip Hop/R&B. Simply by growing up in the US, you have a certain style that's hipper. Jay has had to worker harder and create a style from scratch. Actually, Lee Hom's R&B is pretty mediocre for American standards (old songs/traditional beats + rap = old formula, But Jay's music is rather unique in the US.
I dont think that Jay's music is fully R&B or Hip Hop most of it're just like pop ballad with rapping. In contrast Leehom's music in the 2 latest album are fully R&B and Hip Hop . And i dont have any comment on Jay's style but Is it Leehom the one who worked sooooo hard to create a Chinese Hip Hop call "Chinked-out" that was followed by Jay in the song Fearless so i guess his Hip hop songs must be more unique . And dont get me wrong i'm dont hate Jay he's really a talented male artist.
I agree that Chinked-out was long overdue and I was really happy when it came out. I like both and I really liked how hot Jay looked in his fearless vid - hehe. NE who, I guess it's just become so common in the US for rappers to just rap to older popular songs. No denying both are talented. :)

我觉得两位天王各有长处，周杰伦的歌曲的曲风虽然较受大众喜欢，但是当中也有少许失水准的歌曲。王力宏的歌曲虽好听，却在曲风受欢迎的程度上稍处下风，但是他每首歌曲都是水准之上的歌曲，几乎首首都是佳作。所以两位天王在创作方面可说是旗鼓相当。赞同的按赞。。

i prefer leehom over jay...leehom's songs are more meaningful and creative, whereas jay's songs are simply and the lyrics are easy to memorize. i think thats why jay is popular...

I agree with beteast. Total opposite of wot u said. Read Leehoms lyrics! Hes an ABC .. which is why his lyrics are so simple. Plus he puts random english words in his songs which make it look like he couldnt think how to express it in chinese. Read jays lyrics and you'll see theyre more meaningful.

That's because Jay has a professional lyricist Vincent Fang write his lyrics, so obviously they are going to sound more "meaningful." Both of these artists are both extremely talented, so why is there a need to compare? Can't we just say both are great and leave it at that?
Jay and Leehom obviously respect each other, so why can't their fans do the same?

They are both very acclaimed singers and composers. As for me, I cannot compare Jay Chou and Wang Lee Hom overall. After all, their songs are not that similar in comparison, and their styles of singing are different. Let's just say that they create and interpret songs the way they want them to be created and interpreted. I mean that each has his own style of conveying his songs. And it is because of this that both singers and their songs are very well-loved by the people. :D

I would hate to compare the two because they are both great artists and are 2 of my 3 favourites. But to me, I feel that basically Leehom is more skilled at singing and Jay has more creativity. To me, Jay is my favourite because I like his style more.

Leehom was not the first to have combined east/west together. He admits this himself. But he is the first Artist to have used this PROFESSIONALLY. When you listen to his chinked-out music, there is actually a historical background to the elements, not just some random Chinese instruments incorporated in the song. Jay Chou has been using Chinese elements in his songs for a while, but you couldn't tell if it was Beijing Opera or Kunqu, or anything else. But for Leehom, it can.

exactly. a lot of ppl mix that up when they discuss chinked out. these elements are much more formalized in the gai shi ying xiong album. And the Xin Zhong De Ri Yue album used actual tribal melodies/instruments from Tibet that aren't heard as often, as say, erhu. Other than that, Jay and lee hom did good covers of eachother. Though I think what everybody really wanted was a duet lol.

I like both leehom and jay songs and musics.. both of them are hot.. and we can hear that from the songs they sang, wei yi and hei se you mo, the vocal range of leehom is much more wider.. to my opinion, no offence, i feel that leehom sing better than jay and he more nice looking than jay!! And i prefer leehom!!!

They are different in their own way, and we should respect that. I have to give credit to both for of their talents. Lee's cute and adorable/hawt with i think more talent. I heard he speaks French, English And Chinese (maybe more) ;; and he play many instruments!

not really on the mic. Mic adjustments is dependant on the singer's singing volume...Like when leehom switch to a head voice, the singing volume decreses and he hv to shift the mic nearer to his mouth

Too bad I missed this debate while the heat was still on! Honestly, I don't think Jay is ugly at all. I'm mixed and find Azn guys with almond shaped eyes more attractive by far. Besides, beauty is in the eye of the beholder - talent and passion makes a person that much more charming!

Hmm...i tink its realli unfair to say tat leehom's music is all on skills and comparing it to jay chou.I tink music you need to have the passion and talent in it also.Not alot of pple can achieve the ability like WLH to play so many different kind of instruments and besides, he's depth of knowledge in music is also much deeper than most pple.Both r talented in their own ways and have their own styles to suit different people who listen to their music.
But i prefer leehom.

I agree. I mean, I've been into music since I was little, and I'm still not as good as Leehom or Jay. Although Leehom had more exposure to music when he was younger, if you don't have the natural talent, I doubt you can get any more than just composing several simple songs.

I agree, just because you go to school doesn't mean you can achieve Leehom's level. Obviously you need hard work and perservernce, and I think it's unfair to discredit Leehom's work just because he went to Williams musical school. I mean he had to work to get into the school, you can't just sit around and expect to get into Williams.

These 2 guys are the top male singers in asia and I admire them both very much. Both are very talented and have their own styles of music. Although I do prefer Jay over Lee hom anyday. Ppl out there saying Jay's ugly, please look in the mirror! And also, music is music, it has got absoulutely nothing to do with appearance. I believe that people out there are more in love with Jay's talent and his music rather than his looks.

jay has a kind of natural talent, whereas leehom acquired most of his musical skills through school...also, large part of leehom's success is due to his appearance. on the other hand, jay, who many deem ugly, is extremely successful solely because of his composition/songs. jay is better in my opinion :D:D:D

I don't think it's a level playing field to compare the 2 - Lee Hom is American and he's had the luxury of the best access to Hip Hop/R&B. Simply by growing up in the US, you have a certain style that's hipper. Jay has had to worker harder and create a style from scratch. Actually, Lee Hom's R&B is pretty mediocre for American standards (old songs/traditional beats + rap = old formula, But Jay's music is rather unique in the US.

I dont think that Jay's music is fully R&B or Hip Hop most of it're just like pop ballad with rapping. In contrast Leehom's music in the 2 latest album are fully R&B and Hip Hop . And i dont have any comment on Jay's style but Is it Leehom the one who worked sooooo hard to create a Chinese Hip Hop call "Chinked-out" that was followed by Jay in the song Fearless so i guess his Hip hop songs must be more unique . And dont get me wrong i'm dont hate Jay he's really a talented male artist.

I agree that Chinked-out was long overdue and I was really happy when it came out. I like both and I really liked how hot Jay looked in his fearless vid - hehe. NE who, I guess it's just become so common in the US for rappers to just rap to older popular songs. No denying both are talented. :)
