There are other LB's who had twice the tackles and sacks he did, and they played in tougher districts, and weren't given a better ranking. Christian Jones played where it's tougher, and so did Jeff Luc..They had much better stats..Jeff Luc was given a four star lol WOW but this guy is fast, and he should fit right in.

Doesn't matter about the past 12 years. Meyer has won 2 NCs since 06 and only lost 2 games. Brown's salary has nothing to do with him being the best coach or whatever. I know Texas is a big state, but to say that they would rarely go out of state for recruiting is hard for me to believe. We (buckeyes) do it all the time and so does Florida, Alabama, USC and many other schools. As with any college, most of their rosters are probably in-state guys, but damn, don't have too much pride. Mark Ingram grew up watching the Big 10. He's from Flint, MI. You can't get any more mid western than that.

Texas has 6 guys from out of state on our entire (current) roster of 98. Thats 94% from in state, none of the schools you listed are even close to that number, they're at like 60% at best from in state.
Texas is the HS football hotbed of the nation, we rarely see a reason to recruit out of state.

Maybe one of the more explosive linebackers we have seen in the last two classes. Hicks generates striking speed and velocity in the short-area and plays the game with an intense motor. Has ideal size with his good height and longer, thicker frame that still has room to add 10-15 pounds of quality muscle. Reads the play quickly. Can beat blockers to the point of attack with speed or blow up the cutoff with outstanding short-area power. Shows great initial quicks and burst filling downhill.

"Right now"? Are you forgetting which 2 teams played in the National Championship? Mack Brown has had the winningest program over the past 12 seasons winning 130+ while only losing 27. He's the highest paid coach in CFB right now for a reason. Right now, Mack Brown has made Texas the most stable and successful program in CFB, and has led them to 2 NC appearances, with a NC. You guys buy into the Meyer/Florida bullshit, not the rest of the world.

Doesn't matter about the past 12 years. Meyer has won 2 NCs since 06 and only lost 2 games. Brown's salary has nothing to do with him being the best coach or whatever. Universities can pay their coaches whatever they want. I do remember who played for the NC and you guys got stomped, just like the Big 12 did last year during bowl season. I'll be real surprised if Hicks goes to UT other than of course if he has some sort of significant family connection.

I know Texas is a big state, but to say that they would rarely go out of state for recruiting is hard for me to believe. We (buckeyes) do it all the time and so does Florida, Alabama, USC and many other schools. As with any college, most of their rosters are probably in-state guys, but damn, don't have too much pride. Mark Ingram grew up watching the Big 10. He's from Flint, MI. You can't get any more mid western than that.

Texas has 6 guys from out of state on our entire (current) roster of 98. Thats 94% from in state, none of the schools you listed are even close to that number, they're at like 60% at best from in state.
Texas is the HS football hotbed of the nation, we rarely see a reason to recruit out of state.

Alright, I've gotten a lot of comments this past week, but I haven't responded. For one, perhaps I'm being misunderstood. Although UT may not recruit out of state much, it's ridiculous to think that they wouldn't ever want to. Texas is a giant state so I'd imagine you would find far more instate players than out of state. Peraps more than other schools. USC is probably the same way cuz California is a giant state as well.

Maybe one of the more explosive linebackers we have seen in the last two classes. Hicks generates striking speed and velocity in the short-area and plays the game with an intense motor. Has ideal size with his good height and longer, thicker frame that still has room to add 10-15 pounds of quality muscle. Reads the play quickly. Can beat blockers to the point of attack with speed or blow up the cutoff with outstanding short-area power. Shows great initial quicks and burst filling downhill.
