Whatever its called, this instrument is really a great thing! I am a hospice nurse and I have seen this instrument in the hands of many patients, and seen their faces light up when "even they" can play music. It is awesome to see someone so sick who can create such beautiful sounds.

It is not like a harp, it is like a zither or large psaltery or other instruments of its type.

Please change the name of your product. It is not a harp in any way. It is a gross misuse of the word. You have made a type of lyre, kantela, guitar, etc. It is side-strung, which means it cannot be called a harp. However nice it is, you must change the name.

I agree that our Reverie Harp is not a real harp. We registered the name with the US Patent and Trademark Office, clearly identifying it as a psaltery in our application.

We use the word "harp" in the name primarily because strumming the strings of our instrument sounds like playing a glissando on a real harp. The soothing impact of this "heavenly" sound is similar to the effects of real harp music. The advantage of our design is that you need not be an expert to play it. Jerry Brown

I suggest you sit with our Reverie Harp sometime and relax with it. You can close your eyes and play the strings at random. I think you will find that the similarities of our instrument to a real harp outweigh the differences you'll find in the following list of erroneous uses of the word "harp", some of which are also registered trademark names:

This is so cool. I am a volunteer musician at Fairview University (mandolin) and I've often tried to form a chord and let the patient play it. It doesn't work real well. This, however, from what I see, could have some real potential. If I could have a patient strum it, and maybe lay a little mando line on top of what the patient comes up with---hmmm.  Might have to tell my wife to get me one!
