I'll take the electronics and reliability of a Chevy over a BMW or Merc any day. I have a Suburban and a Corvette and the only thing that goes wrong occasionally are the stupid tires which you must replace when they wear out.
There German that invented the iDrive system in Beemers should be shot at dawn for it is the most unitelligible system in the history of the automobile. Oh, and how much does a simple service cost on your precious cars? Probably a months payment for a Corvette.

@FlatoutProject I really enjoyed watching!!:) Historically, the American road trip as I know it; consists of a bunch of friends (in the same car) cruising around the country, getting to know each other, doing ridiculous shit, experiencing the vastness, meeting interesting ppl along the way. Being in separate cars must have been kind of boring. Me and my friends like to make music for half the trip, play pranks on each other for some, and even breaking down can be an interesting experience!!
dunno why so many people hate on the corvette although its one of the best sports\super cars ever made it has the whole package for a performance car the only thing thats is ugly about a vette is the interior
das verstehe ich nicht grade die deutschen Autos sind doch in Thema Elektrik am schlimmsten ich sag nur allein BMW M6 versuch mall das auto einzustellen da sag ich nur viel spass und das sind da nur Spielereien
u got to hand it to the camaro, it's really a good looking and fast car, although on a personal note i prefer japanese cars, u got to hand it to american cars, they are damn fast.
I find it interesting that there are a bunch of European shows, where they get together and bash on American cars (the Corvette in particular). Americans don't have shows that rip on European cars. Is it because they're clearly superior? No. It's because we're not intimidated. We don't care.
I rarely lose to Japanese or European cars, in the real world.
I know plenty of people who have electronic problems with their Audis, BMWs & Benz's (mine included).
@BobaVette Hi, generally you're right, all modern cars suffer from this electronic overkill and related annoying problems.
But, on the other hand, wait till part 5 to see if we really dislike those cars. Btw., we also made a special feature about the Camaro, which I really loved. A great Car!!
@BobaVette- There isn't an American show that rips yet because if an American TV show told the truth there would be lawsuits lining up at the door. It's not because we don't care, although, some of us clearly don't, it's because American TV execs are way too worried about their pockets to allow good showings to come through. I'll try to take care of that for you as soon as I can though.... :)
@BobaVette Dont forget on Top Gear, in the end Jeremy Clarkson praised the ZR-1, James May loved the CTS-V, and Richard Hammond is a confessed muscle-car lover. The obvious cultural differences are apparent in vehicle styling and American cars tend to be louder visually, drawing more criticisms when they fail to perform. Ultimately their argument comes down the fact that American cars are fast in a straight line, and offer little handling performance when compared to the Europeans or Japanese.
@abax84 Your comment makes no sense if you don't hold the records for the fastest car's in the world, yeah you made the Aero but that's the 4th fastest. Even us Brit's who don't make the greatest car's are in 2nd place in that race. shall we talk about 0-60mph next? With all the power you put into your car's you might hold that one..... oh no you don't. ok let's talk about track racing car's....ok let's not!
@fresky74 I think my comment made perfect sense.. in fact your reply, which at first made no sense to me says basically the same thing I did. Honestly my comment made perfect sense. Try again
@abax84 Oh yeah sorry i miss read your comment i thought you wrote that your car's have the fastest acceleration an straight line spee, not sure where i got that from rereading your comment.
@BobaVette i know what you are saying here, and clearly you are right about that! me i'm german and i'm tired of that kind of clichè-based bashing myself, sadly it seems to be an exclusive german/european thing to down-talk and badmouth things, as like you also said correctly, i have never seen anything similar done by americans on this side of the atlantic, yet almost all of those who bash the most, still secretly enjoy things pioneered in america.
@BobaVette Actually, the Toyota's arent actually that bad, if you know a lot about your car, and can take good care f it, there is no problem. I had a Toyota Hilux - Double Cabin, and Grand Mark II Saloon. And they were pretty good, never had a problem with them, no electrical problems, no engine problems, and no breaking down. My family, we really rely, and trust on Toyota vehicles, cause we know how to handle them. But now Toyota changed some of the looks of the cars, and I don't like it.
No, I don't really think so. Europe is not intimidated buy the US car industry. Our is better, that just how it is.
With that said: I think American cars have a big dose of charm. Big simple engines and more often than not, stunning design. Both the Camaro and corvette looks great!
german cars have the best quality but they are sometimes too expensive the corvette is fast and simple and not too expensive anyways the best spots car for the money is the gt-r not porche, lambo or amercan.less than 30.000$ mustang is the best for the money
I feel like the 0-60-0 test was a bit one-sided. Naturally, a Corvette with a lighter mass than a Camaro would be able to accelerate up to 60 and break back to 0. It's a simple law of momentum (momentum = mass x velocity), which means a lighter object can accelerate and slow down more quickly than a heavier one.
I could bring inertia into this, but that goes hand-to-hand with momentum.
Hi, right, laws of physics are not very fortunate for the heavier car. But, also with heavy weight, one can have some surprises, as in Pt 3. Best regards, Kai
@AreYouFoolingMe- There is something you're leaving out... Grip. The heavier car has more mass pressing the tyres into the tarmac for more grip-per-inch of contact patch. This means there will be less interference from the ABS computer, and may very well stop sooner. The lighter car may accelerate faster, but that doesn't necessarily equate to quicker stopping time.
I have a question, why hasn't Top Gear reviewed the new Camaro yet? They reviewed the Z06 and ZR1 Vettes, the Dodge Challenger and several Mustangs. Why are they not showing any respect for the Camaro? It even out-sold the Mustang in October. Why are they refusing to review the Camaro?
Why do the Europeans always go to the worst parts of America? I mean, Top Gear went to Alabama. Try the northern states next. A lot less dull, and boring.
And, btw, we also liked California, Arizona and Nevada a lot. As I liked new England, NY, New Orleans, Miami, San Francisco. All those regions are great. Best regards, Kai
Ah, that's great to hear! There a lot of open roads in Nevada, which is pretty cool sometimes. Chicago is pretty cool place too, if you haven't been there.
Well I wonder why. hmm possibly because Alabama has the best race course in America called Barber Motorsports. I would know being that I live about 5 miles away from it.
Go back to making German goo or animal bukake films!

With more weight can bring more traction. It's not to one-sided.
DwnNvr 2 years ago
@AreYouFoolingMe
Haha what are you trying to say and why are you bringing physics equations into it?
Correct, the big camaro has more inertia and thats why its slower at acceleration and braking...
But how is an accleration/braking test being 'one sided'?
The reason people buy these cars is for performance, it would be a pretty stupid video if they didn't test acceleration.
