Im just glad no humain got hurt.Who in Bathurst city would expect a Moose to jump in front of your car like that specialy at that location of the street..I think the Police should of Stop the traffic to guide the lost animal out of the way but you cant just walk up to a moose and asked him..Excuse me dear moose,,would u be kind enouff to leave this area please.,, people, STOP this blame game.it was an accident, we all saw the same video.Come on Now..FESTIVAL WEEK Soon ,,HeeHaw,
the person who hit the moose "BY ACCIDENT" had no idea there was a moose on the loose, they were going 30kms, does not even own a cell phone, is bilingual and proud of it, they did pull over, and they are absolutely crushed by the incident and broken hearted. As a matter of fact the person in question has rescued many domestic and wild animals in the past, volunteers and donates for the SPCA and has never hunted in thier lives, couldn't bear it, let they who cast the 1st stone......
@MsTracey43 theres two lawns right there that were much higher than the moose pluse there were cars turning in and stopping plus a dog went toward them on a leash at them causing to bolt and were at full speed when they ran out,hes lucky the rear of the moose didnt go into the windshield like so many do!,i saw everything as i was holding the camera free hand and was not looking at the screen!
Just to let people know, I was t the scene and from what I`ve heard, both mooses were put down with tranquilizers and they will try to save the leg of the one that got hit.
@drc35ca those 2 have been around for a least a month now and they have been everywhere around the city,thier becoming a hazard and ive seen them at least 20 times just in the west area in backyards,graveyards and walking trails and right down the train tracks past the station.

What kind of jerk was behind the wheel ? There were tow Mosse running around, many people watching the scene, and yet he/she manages to somehow speed up and hit the animal.

@AVoiceofSanity there where cars in the corner and on the main rd ,she was in the outside lane and moose travel fast and came from a blind area! not her fault!
@drc35ca well sorry but when you hear it on the news and was pretty much the talk of the town for a few hours, and police there, and crowd of people, you should try to put two and two together and be a tad more cautious. Did the police handle it wrong hummm maybe could of easily stopped traffic on top and bottom of hill and get the moose off the road since it was plane to see there was enough of them there. just does not surprise me at all.
@kinkybynature71 I dont think ive seen a similar situation except once about 25 years ago when a bull moose ran down main and just stayed out in the harbour eating grass and moss for 2 or 3 days but the whole town just about stopped for this,not much anyone could do?
@drc35ca Thank you, voice of sanity, The person this happened to is absolutely crushed that this happened, and very saddened, the judgemental comments are ignorant, and really hurt that person who wouldn't purposfully ever hurt a soul. People can be so quick to judge and condemn, they seem to love sensationalism just like the news people, no matter who the hurt or the facts, it's a sad comment on mankind to accuse so harshly...
