Some cultural understading for non-latin viewers:

1. the cinema depicted is in Argentina not in Italy. As the author stated many argentinians understand italian well cause of their heritage.

2. The italian of the the "basterds" of course is terrible and also Landa has a very laughable accent.

2. people start to laugh around 0:30 cause of the gestures, totally out of context. In particular DeCocco's gesture in italian means something i could translate in "WTF?".

A lot of people in Argentina are of Italian origin, but I have a good friend who's from Argentina, and his Great-Grandfather was from Italy--his grandfather and father didn't speak one word of Italian. I think the generation that spoke Italian is long gone by now.

I think Tarantino did a good job to show a little how humane are everyone including Nazi. They are not 100% evil monsters like in some movies. They have a life, have parents and want to live a normal life. Yet you have these Basterds who are supposed to be good guys killing every Nazi they met, regardless of whose children they will end up behind. Well that's the horror of war. They will always be lots of losers.

supergirl yes, in the italian version brad pitt and the second italian speaks sicilian dialect (like godfather), instead the third speaks the dialect of Naples city. I prefer the original version too ;)
