  • Great tribute to a great person! Check out my tribute to Bill

  • The awful music ruined the video. :(

  • pleeeezeeee this MUSIC FUCKIN BLOWSSSSSS cant hear BILL!!!!!

    Fucks

  • I'm not wanting to piss off Hick's fans... but who picked the fuck'n music?

Bill would be turning in his grave, lol

  • Agnetha Fältskog - What Now My Love

  • Bill Hicks reincarnated into Alex Jones...

    it's just a ride...enjoy

  • @Kunundrum

    That´s blaphemy.

jones is a pig disinformationalist and hicks is a class guy.

  • Great clip and culminating in what he believed in with regards the ride!!!

  • Bill would be rolling in his grave if he saw his greatness paired with this lame ass music...

  • Clearly the 16 people who "disliked" this video are the demons of this world Bill was talking of.

  • bill,

you saved me when i was tripping on shrooms. i thought when i was peaking that i was losing my mind and it wasnt coming back, then i recalled what you said.

    'ITS ALL JUST A RIDE"

thank you mate, cant wait to meet you on the otherside.

  • Not sure if you knew or not, Bill Hicks does not need background music.

  • @bweazel although Hicks Himself used it extensively in his albums.

  • Which albums? I've seen plenty of Hicks stuff, never have I heard a continuous soundtrack going on behind him. Maybe introduction music or exit music, but not background.

What albums are these you speak of?

  • @bweazel Well Hicks was exaggerating a bit when he said that "Arizona Bay" and "Rant in E-Minor" were his "Dark Sid of the Moon's" there are quite a few background songs throughout each album, and there's even a full song at the end of "Relentless". Look up "Living God", and "Love List" for a couple examples.

Maybe if he had lived longer, we'd could've heard a full soundtrack.

  • what's the song in the beginning of the video. does anyone know?

  • happy bday...rip bill!

  • Only comedian that even REMOTELY resembles Hicks in terms of dialouge is Doug Stanhope...

  • We need Bill back to sort out the fucking x-factor generation, the crappy governments fighting their imagined wars and the corporate sluts that caused this global recession.

  • Comment removed

  • You are just as relevant today as you were fifteen years ago. Rest in peace Bill.

  • even more relevant today

    RIP Bill

  • @sweepily

    wise words mate...

    cheers to you.

  • We need more bob marleys, john lennos and bill hicks is this world that is quickly falling a part.

  • or...

YOU could try and make a difference instead of depending on others.

I'm not trying to take a shot at you, I'm just hoping you'll realize that no one's going to do the work for us. WE have to be the change we want to see.

  • All our heroes are reflections of ourselves. We have a little bit of all them in us. We are one. Its only this place in time do we see this individual duality in life.

  • Sir, what makes you think that the world is quickly falling apart? I don't see it. Bill Hicks = awesome!

  • My hero. I discovered him when I was sixteen... A good time to be properly educated.

  • in a world where bill hicks is dead and carrot top, lee evans russell brand, jonathan ross live on, there can be no greater argument for a godless universe.

Hicks was a true comedian, one that would not sit back and make an easy buck but used his intellect to speak a series of profound truths in a comic way to those who are not afraid to open their eyes.

  • @u2atomicbomb

The universe is what you make it with what you know is inside(nature has it too of course),what exactly to you beelive to be the truth if not the truth.

    Now,what is the truth?

    That is THE question.

  • @CheckinGagaiNagain Hicks spoke his own truth,, unfetter by social consideration, never shying from saying what he believed he had to. Wherther that truth reflects your truth or my truth is immaterial. The fact that he was one of very, very few individuals to say precisely what he felt inside is reason enough to praise him.

  • @u2atomicbomb

Did i ever say the contrary(that he said a lie?()?

I actually appreciate Bill Hicks(he is someone that would speak honestly when facing you(meaning no hypocrite).

Take care NOT to put words into other people mouth that aren't theirs..

Life has an interesting way of giving back.

Creation hasn't change nor will it.

  • @CheckinGagaiNagain

I did not put words into your mouth. I answered your question regarding "what is the truth?" with the greatest degree of sincerity I might add.

  • @u2atomicbomb

    Didn't mean to offend.

  • @u2atomicbomb

Only a proper early death can carve a legend. There is a point in life where physical death comes as a blessing. And the timing is perfect for everyone. Meanwhile enjoy the ride!

  • bill was and still is a prophet who lives on in all who he touched ... and keeps touching shine on bill we love you

  • Really nicely done, a great tribute.

  • Beautiful compilation!!

  • My hero, the only true comedian. Very inspirational.

  • Its just a rideeee

  • Legend, Rest In Peace, Bill Hicks,

  • I love bill soooooooooooooo fucking much!!!!!!!!!! man am i glad we are all one so i can have him with me at all times ;)

  • this dude was a legend . no one can compare...

  • he is good, but you are wrong about no one being able to compare as he was influenced by many including carlin who is hands down one of the greatest (and considered the greatest by many reviewers) stand-up comedians. saying that no one can compare is even illogical as HE considered his role models/influences to be better than him and that is why he chose to do similar material.

  • BILL HICKS American Fucking Hero!

  • God bless Bill HIcks! RIP

  • we're all evil kill you\r selves...lol...seriously though kill your selves :/

  • some of dennis leary stuff sounds just like bill...

  • he stole it, Leary is a hack thats why his album was no cure for cancer cuz he won the material without an angry comedian exposing him,Cuz bill died of cancer

  • Yeah I know, it was a joke. some of learys stuff is almost verbatim HIcks

  • "I have a scoop for you. I stole his act. I camouflaged it with punchlines, and to really throw people off, I did it before he did." - Bill Hicks

  • Leary is Hicks's evil twin

  • Leary's a spineless little turd who's rode to fame on the backs of comedians like Hicks. Carlin and Hicks are the two comedians i would give centre stage, above all others.

    ...perhaps Connolly.

  • please any body answer my question!!!???

  • its not satin that hes signing, its rock 'n roll, he played from his heart...

  • why he make at 1:13 this satanic sign???

  • that's not a satanic sign.... and even if it were, it does not matter because there is no satan... there are, however, evil results to the actions of misunderstood ideas....

  • this is satanic or metal no matter its just a ride!!!

  • It has nothing to do with satan. It's just the metal sign.

You know Bill used to open for Tool, right?

  • "Can you guys help me find my contact lens?" that was too funny when he got a bunch of people at a show to start looking for a contact lens!

  • ahahah you crak me up dude!!!

  • "Fear and love must go together; always fear, always love, to your dying day." -- John Henry Newman

  • beautiful, i've just found out about his stuff, he's great

  • And thank you for this vid.

  • Definitely an incredible man with hilarious jokes and great philosophy/outlook on life. It will be quite some time before the world sees someone like this again.

  • One thing I know for sure... Bill Hicks is in heaven, rocking out.

  • naw hes surfing the flames of hell rocking out... unlike this crappy music. Hicks was a metal head

  • i think he was more anti corporate whores like nsuck, backstreet bums, speared brit. since he talks about lennon who was no metal head i think he liked musicians who oppose corporate control and metal was that type for his era.

  • well music was a big influence on hicks, he would bring up lennon, judas priest.. just watch the play from your fucking heart vid

  • Huh? I've never heard that before... I know he was a huge Dylan fan, The Stones, Hendrix, etc. He made music himself and that was rock as well. Didn't he tell this joke about some Judas Priest fans who killed themselves? Anyway he basically said they are worthless anyway... so it wasn't a huge loss. I know it's just a joke though. And yes, he is in heaven.

  • Bill Hicks was a great man. Not only was he funny as hell, but his views on life was phenomenal. If only half the world would open their eyes to what he said, then perhaps things would be much better. Remember folks, it's just as ride.

  • -_-

Since I hate typos more than Hicks hated pro-life people, I feel I must fix that last sentence. Remember folks, it's just a ride.

  • Since you hate typos so much, I though I would point out that there should be no apostrophe in "its". You may think It's = It is, but that is not the case. "It's" denotes ownership in this case, so you would simply write out the word as its.

  • Man, I just had to let that pass, didn't I? :P

Well, I can always blame it on me being Norwegian.

  • Actually, NapaSales150, "It's" is a contraction of "it is" or "it has". The third person possessive is always "its". It isn't intuitive, but it's the way that the English language operates. Check out some of the grammar guides online

  • touche

  • Hicks will never die!

I like the tribute, thanks man.

  • is he dead?

  • ¬_¬

  • Fuck Ill drive you to Kenny Rogers house!

  • It was bill's drug use and bad health that ,made him the man he was. Damn right it would be selfish to ask him :-p

  • what is the title of the song in the video.....?

    ....thanks

  • my uncle died of pancreatic cancer , aged 59

THEY DONT KNOW WHAT CAUSES IT.

    its just a lottery.

  • You bringing what must be some personal anti-smoking sentiment into a video about Bill Hicks makes me want to throw up. Its not about elongating life. Its about making the life we have better. Its about making a better ride. Our priorities shouldn't be telling people what to do. It should be "Feeding, clothing, and educating the world." And that education is not pushing your own personal doctrines. Education is giving people the opportunity to think for themselves.

  • I agree with you that what he was talking about has to do with general livelihood of general populous. My posting, however, was just pointing out how an otherwise good information get trivialized by unverified nor verifiable comments, made by either the champions of change or their disciples.

  • well put spikeyue.

Life is just a ride, I love/miss him although I've never met him, something I've never said before.

This man was real. ordinary, but witty. Someone who challenged me to dig a deep further. and for that I thank people like Mr. Bill Hicks

  • The utilatarian thing to do, for Bill, would be to live longer, he then would have mad all our 'rides' alot more fun, so, by his lifestyle (if it attributed negitively to his health) he has make alot of peoples lives sad, not just from his death, but dull, due to the loss of his humor.

  • yea but you cant just live you life for other people. to say bill should have lived a healthier longer life for use is crazy! and it would be selfish for us to ask that of him.

  • We dont ask to be born.

    We don't ask to die.

He diden't want to die, he had an importian message to share with the world and now that someone with his humor cant re-iterate it many people will live for their cars, job and money.

  • Hicks Died of Pancreatic Cancer, not a cancer caused by the use of nicotine or smoking gets your facts straight before making absurd claims any layman can discredit.

  • True. I don't know causes of his cancer, but the last thing I would entertain is some concorted conspirancy theory that he was "killed" by his nemesis when he died of cancer. That's a fallacy that lovers of social politics like me can not overlook. About smoking and pancreatic cancer, check this out:Only about 10 percent of pancreatic cancers result from an inherited tendency. A greater number are caused by environmental or lifestyle factors, such as smoking, diet and chemical exposure.

  • well, what facts do you have to prove it was caused by smoking?

  • dude even bill knew smoking was killing him, he just enjoyed it, as it was part of his ride. we all take our little pleasure in the ride, be it food, drink, smoking, art, music etc. besides people who shine as bright as him where not ment to be with us long!

  • What the fuck?

Think about the rationality you make once you put together your words, because it's in the negitive.

  • my rationality is that even though smoking is damaging, many people actualy enjoy it for many reasons! bill often talked about how he loved smoking, for him it was one of the best parts of his ride. many people have a vice they would not want to live life without, regardless of there damaging effects.

  • He's not telling you what to call from your memory when he appoints to real-life facts in the manner most jolly, it comes from your inside, what you can produce from what you know and feel, possibly there is not much oncerning these sort of feelings

  • This guy would be such a leader in todays controlled world, exposing the evils to all the closed mind people using comedy as a strategy.

But "they always kill these good guys" don't they?

Bill Hicks, Aarron Russo, cancer viruses, coincidence- Bullshit

  • Hicks! You're the MAN! 'Give em hell' up there with your bright sunshine and messages of PEACE. They'll love you at the wedding!

  • Thanks for posting. Saint Bill Hicks ~ RIP Meet you on the other side (for a better ride.

  • Man I love this guy, the 'just a ride' bit chokes me up every time.

I don't even care anymore that leary stole half his set from him, he missed the point so badly it's like saying Billy Ray Cyrus stole from John Lennon cos he used the word 'the' in his songs.

  • heartful tribute to good ol' bill.

I would have put the beatles 'a day in the life' as the music though.

  • R.I.P. Bill Hicks, ill see ya on the other side. Hope the other side is a better ride than this.

  • If you genuinley feel this great man was a visionary then try and do something today, tomorrow and the next day that will enhance your life and that of those around you.

  • theres no way they are going to win...we got the power sooner or later will take it all over again...hicks was a visionary, a great man...very genuine...

    open your mind

    free your mind

  • very very good, well done.

  • well done man

  • The last Bill Hicks quote at the end of Zeitgeist is the best part whoever brought up Zeitgeist.

  • Yeah man.

  • KEEP SPREADING! ALL AROUND!

    peace

  • beautiful

  • there are people telling the truth out there. Just listen. search for zeitgeistmovie

  • GLAD THE WORD HAS SPREAD! KEEP SPREADING! peace

  • Hicks was one of the best! Rest in peace Bill. Save me a seat!

  • hey snid, if Bill is burning hell, I'll burn right beside hime. Shut ur mouth and crank up ur Avril Lavigne box set you tool.

  • Snid, people like you who call themselves "Christians" are the worst kind of frauds. If your Jesus ever does come back, he'd be disgusted by how you've twisted his message of love and unity into one of hate and segregation. If there is a god and he did give is free will, i'm sure he regrets ever creating you with that in mind.

  • Amen brother.

  • damn. you fuckin owned him.

  • Well said, 9r9; Some of the most mean-spirited ppl I've ever met call themselves 'Christians' and some, who've rarely stepped inside a church, are the most loving, giving and compassionate ppl I've ever met...

  • hey snid, bill was closer to jesus than you ever were. most of all he practiced what jesus did. he came off as cruel but was indeed trying to help us all by warning us of what truly is evil. if you really love jesus, you should stop pretending he's going keep a warm place for your soul. that's presumptious. instead, listen to his words practice understanding while you're on this planet.

  • stop hating on the song. I think it fits pretty good. Jus coz Bill Hicks wouldn't like that music doesn't mean you have to hate it too. Think for your self dammit.

  • what the fuck is with that song? should have put Alice cooper or something on it something Bill liked.

  • Ill join the Bill Hicks Revolution!!

    RIP Bill

  • If people followed the options of bills hick, our third eye would indeed be suidgied, and we as a rare explore outta space and be at peace with god, earth, and each other. R.I.P Mr hicks, until we meet again

  • Bill Hicks was awesome.

  • wouldnt the world be better with bill as their leader?

  • FUCK MAN LETS DO THIS PEOPLE LETS START A REVOLUTION UNDER THE GENIUS INFLUENCE OF BILL HICKS!!! Together we can restore Earth to its Natural state and let Mother Earth know we're still one being!!! CMONNN!!!

  • how?

  • saw tool last night and listen to bill hicks on the trip to the concert...now my third eye is squidgy clean!!!

  • This is shit leave bill alone.

  • I didnt know God did stand up comedy

  • Who cares about what song someone uses on a youtube tribute seriously! I don't think Bill would really care as long as people remember his philosophy and his comedy. As long as we do that then his spirit will live on :)

  • More people need to speak out like this man. Lets do it

  • ironic he talked about great men being taken too soon. he is added to the list. love you bill

  • This would have been a good video if the gay background music was eliminated.

  • Bill was the greatest comidian that ever lived, even today his shits so relevent i mean 911 (america did that)i would love to see hes stuff on that no one else has the balls cos there all about moeny

. most comidians now are one liners he had talent to draw his jokes out and on the most serious of topics

  • David Cross is the closest thing we have to a Bill Hicks..you should check out his album 'Shut Up You Fucking Baby!'.

  • Good point....but what about Doug Stanhope? Stanhope in '08!!

  • we could use another Bob Dylan as well

  • So long. We wish you well. You told us how you weren't afraid to die. Well then, so long. Don't cry. Or feel too down. Not all martyrs see divinity. But at least you tried. Standing above the crowd, He had a voice that was strong and loud. We'll miss him. Yeah when I'm "slamming" someone I always say how much we'll all miss him. -.-
  • You have got to be kidding me, please read the full lyrics before you continue you're argument. You look like a dipshit

  • True! Finally someone who gets it. Eulogy is a good riddance to Hubbard and not a eulogy for Hicks. But by God we will miss him!

    And OutaSynch, i'm no pommie.

  • Then you must be an Aussie. Yeah, we got the religiously insane, you got the criminally insane. I think you all got the better deal.

  • I just found out about Bill Hicks last week and just now found out he died. Where has he been? Why hasn't been more on national TV or movies?

  • Because a large portion of you fuckin yanks are ignorant right wing christian fundamentals paid for by corporate america. Dissident is not allowed.

  • Unfortunately we inherited those fanatics from you Brits when you all shipped your puritans out on the Mayflower. Nice gift from you all that keeps on giving! At least we got a few of your semi-religious intellectuals who became our founding fathers. But most of your exports were Victorian prigs.

  • um.. u just answered your own question....

Why hasn't been more on national TV or movies?

    Answer: hes dead.

    oh yea.. also.. 'national' pfffff

  • 'Eulogy' is about Bill, why couldn't you pick that =O, A lot of Tool songs are influenced by him 'cause he's just that great, as is Tool. This is a really good video besides the music hehe =]

Not all martyrs see divinity ... but at least you tried

  • actually no- Eulogy is a slam on L Ron Hubbard. Listen to the words again. "Come down.

    Get off your fuckin cross.

We need the fuckin space to nail the next fool martyr."

Hicks was a big inspiration to Maynard, but Eulogy is most definitely NOT a tribute to him.

  • Bill in my eyes was just not a comedian... he was a teacher to us all :)

  • So true, so true. I learned alot from watching my dad's Bill Hicks dvd. XD

  • It's...just a ride. Never forget that.

  • loved it, I personally found the music beautiful and very moving, good work and thanks, luv G

  • "and we... kill those people hehe"

yep cant believe bush got in the office when you have such a great comedian putting it down so clear

  • The elections were rigged, didn't you know?

  • Lessons still unlearned

    mj

  • oh my god, its just a ride...brilliant

hicks was a genius, but he'd be turning in his grave that you put that music over him. or maybe he'd love the irony.

  • it's always the good ones that go early...

  • Change the music to some Hendrix, then it would be perfect.

  • Nice video, shame about the song

  • "Then forgive me." Brilliant. A genius. Good tribute.

  • bill is the greatest standup of all time he's a fuckin profit !

  • bill is my hero... but I don't think he'd dig this music.

  • We love you Bush! Every fact points that you're a lying corporate puppet devil cocksucking facist, not one fact to the opposite- gee lets put him on Mount Rushmore. Really, how far up your ass does this guys dick have to go before you realize he's fucking you? People are like "I love Bush. He's patriotic, strong and a good Christian war president...oh hold it, wait a sec...somethings slapping my ass... OH MY GOD HE'S FUCKING ME!!

  • i liked it very much.

Bill is one of my heroes.

  • "i've been doing comedy for ten years now, bear with me while i plough through this shit one more time" haha, don't think he was joking at that point anymore tho...

  • *wipes eyes*

That last bit always has the tears jerking ;_; he's my hero, and it was only after watching his routines that I started to see beyond all this shit and begin to enjoy life.

  • damn guys just let this guy do his tribute and let bill enjoy the cosmos

  • worst song ever man..

you didn't get the point at all

  • Gay.

  • yeah..i,was,thinking,that,myself...truely,disgusting.

    p.s,,,my,space,bar,is,broken.

  • why the shitty song?

  • Music, when combined with imagery, is always one of the most powerful messages you can deliver... done well, of course. This video made me feel good, espcecially the end part. Nice job!

  • bill hicks would turn in his fucking grave if he saw what you've done to him, you moron! .. that was gut spewing awful. let him rest in peace. May god forgive you for that disgusting musical tribute.

  • lmao how would you know what he would think of this?

  • Wish i could have seen him live. Only the demons left..

  • truely spoke the words many were too afraid to think in that day and age...hell, in this day and age.

May you rest in peace till the end of our days.
