i unpluged the senser bar and tryed it with 1/2 dead flashlights and it worked

Ermmm... you only need two lights separated like that for it to work.

The sensor bar is nothing but LED lights and it gives no information to the Wii console, the remote gives it. You have to plug it into the console simply to supply power to the LED lights.

So I don't see why this wouldn't work.
