woow, I thought you said I'm gonna teach you Hindi, but here you break into speaking Hindi and not explaining anything in English, I guess you were pulling a prank on us.
Your hindi is so "shuddh" i almost didnt understand you lol, aaj kal india mein aisi hindi koi nahi bolta hai saahab. Sab log modern hindi bolte hai, shuddh hindi bohot kam sunnay mein aati hai.
lol that guy thinks 37 dollars an hour is alot hahaha! Anyway i've always wanted to learn hindi because i think it is very romantic with words on love. it sounds soft and beautiful when an indian whispers it in your ear. I want to respond! lol
Hi! I don't speak Hindi at all, except "namaste" ;)
But I studied japanese, and I feel like the "he" at the end of nearly every sentence has a similar function as in japanese the word "desu". There is no similar word in european grammars, but it may be translated as something like "to be" in english and also has the fundtion of politement. Is my impression right? :)
This guy is mixing Hindi & Urdu. Indian film makers of Bolywood use Urdu in the films, resulting in Pakistani & rest of the worlds Urdu speaking think that Hindi is same as Urdu.
As Muslims use to rule India, so they had one common language for better communication 'Urdu' that was made out of Persian, Arabic & Turkish. When India was taken away by force from Muslims with propaganda of Brits, Jinah & Ghandi, they took the Urdu too and labeled it as Hindi as every one understood it.
Get your history right buddy! "India was taken away by force from Muslims".. what about the force that Muslims used against Hindus - destruction of great temples and lack of tolerence of other faiths ( that unfortunately exist even today in the muslim world) -- So, whoever has taken India from Muslim rulers ( even if they are Brits) I thank them - at least India remains as a secular country & not become like a basket case like Pakistan & Bangaldesh
All of you are retards. If you truly are an American citizen you would know that the more languages you know the more money you can make. I would learn chimpanzee if i could make more than 37.56 dollars an hour.
One thing I should point out. It's not true that only Indian languages possess extensive and specific words for different types of relations. English may not have these words, but many other languages in the world have just as rich an inventory of words for uncles, aunts, and the like.
This video looks quite interesting but unfortunately my Hindi vocabulary is too limited for this. I don't understand much of the technical vocabularly from Sanskrit, in the same way that I would have difficulty understanding an academic lecture in Urdu filled with Persian and Arabic words.
Hindi is the national language of India spoken by over 70% of the population of the country as a first or second language.
Gujarati is the native language of the western Indian state of Gujarat, spoken by 5% of the population of India. It uses a different script and is mutually unintelligible with Hindi.
Atention Italian and Portuguese is similiar of course but very diferent, but in oposition spanhish and portuguese is very similar and something very confusing about structures grammaticals tolls for example, but in vocabulary many words is the same.

With all your due respect fellow SEAHAWK4FIFE.
The matter here is not what language has been the most important in the world. The point is this, and with this I will break some good new to you, too. English my dear student, is the most studied language around this planet in order to, unfortunately talk to people at your level. Who would bother studying Hindi, or my fucking portuguese shitty language.
English is boring and ugly. And just speaking English doesn't get you anywhere. And who the hell would want to just limit themselves to one tongue? And Portuguese is beautiful!!! Way sexier than English.
@ WhiskeyyWoman: Wrong, just speaking English doesn't prevent you from getting anywhere. English being boring and ugly only a matter of opinion. Some people may think you are boring and ugly, but someone else may not.
@nos1lig: who would bother studying Hindi or portugese? I'll assume this is an implied insult, since it doesn't take much thought to answer these questions.
Iknow it doesn't prevent you from getting anywhere, but being at least bilingual opens up alot of doors - and when I travel to another country, I'd like to know what the hell they're saying.
And when I said "boring" and "ugly", I was just exaggerating. It's a great language to describe things with. I meant based on sound...it's alot uglier than most languages I've heard.
Based on sound, once again that's based on opinion and also the individuals own voice. It's like saying the piano sounds better than the saxaphone. Not everyone's English(or any language) speaking sounds (voice) are the same.
In my own personal experience - the way I hear it spoken by people in school is horrendous. I think you mistook me on my stance on English. It's the first language I learned and it's the language I think in and express myself the best in. I love words. I just hate the way it's spoken by most people around me. It turns me off. Way off.
@WhiskeyyWoman As I enjoy to speak any kind of language, to me every language in this world has something beautiful :) Of course I like some better than others (also portugese), but I would never consider one as "ugly". But it may be "boring" in a way that the english grammar is so simple. The problem I see is that most people, especially in the US, think that everyone can speak english, so they don't need to learn another language. That's very sad!!
You had 2 long lectures about Hindi before this video and then dived straight into sanskritized Hindi without subtitles. This wouldn't be easy for non-Hindi speakers.
bahut zaruri hai aapka pravachan. Mai bharatiy nahii huu, magar hindi sikhna chahtii hu. ThankYou for speaking so clearly and slowly. Aapka svabhaava accha hai. Good luck with Your work. Bhaarat Maata balaa karee.
Come on man. I´m brazilian, but I spent some years to learn English in order to communicate with the rest of the world. Why didn´t you put the subtitles in English on it.
Because I really wanted to understand it. Not that I love English, but I´ll break some good news for you. In this planet we speak English.

Aapki baat kuchh had tak sahi hai par Hindi ki aaj buri dashaa keval software development ke abhaav ke kaaran nahin balki Bharatiyon ke Hindi ke upar Angrezi ke adhiman ke kaaran hui hai.
Japani aur Chini bhashaon mein bhi software development Angrezi ke bahut baad aya tha, par vehe log apni bhasha ka samman karte hain, Bharat mein to jiski bhi Hindi mein vocabulary sau se adhik ho use bhondu mana jata hai.
kansamurai you should be ashamed of talking something like that being a son of same country. Shastri ji never said he is imposing or anything. You are free to learn if you are not open for new things. Feel free not to learn no one is holding your hands and making you learn some thing.
Thanx, That word 'Pessimism' aptly resounds the emotions of about "700+ million" peoples of this country who don't know a word of hindi, and How can you impose A language which has been openly opposed by various regions in our country like Tamilnadu,Punjab,Kashmir,Karnataka and more recently in Assam,Now don't you think you are silenty plotting to vandalize rich regional culture, language and folklore of india, through this imperfect language called hindi.
Whoa! Nobody's imposing any language on anyone over here, he's just trying to help anyone who maybe interested in learning the most widely spoken language in India.
And what's 'imperfect' about Hindi? I agree that India has a very flawed language policy but that doesn't mean that Hindi is a 'bad' language or that Hindi speakers are evil. Also, Hindi is spoken by over 650 million speakers as a first, second, or third language. Do some research before making such spiteful and vacuous comments.
my dear frnd,u hav asked me to do research, but thyself so immature that you don't know the FACT that THERE IS NOTHING LIKE SINGLE NATIONAL LANGUAGE IN INDIA.and hindi is just an communication language between union govt, and stae govt, for more info,go through VIII schedule of costitution.and i don't think that you must know hindi to call yourself as an INDIAN.
I never said you have to speak Hindi to call yourself Indian, India is a mosaic of different cultures and languages, and Hindi is no more or less 'Indian' a language as Tamil or Bangla. It just infuriated me that you found it appropriate to engage in linguistic politics and make spiteful comments about my language on a video quite innocently meant to help anyone trying to learn Hindi. Oh, and yes, that was a typo, I meant to write 'co-official'.
If you expect people to respect your own culture and language, the learn to respect theirs as well. Many Hindi speakers are snobs, I'll admit, but so are many Tamil speakers. That doesn't imply that either side is evil, neither does it make their language 'superior' or 'inferior' or their speakers 'cultured' or 'uncultured'. Tamil has a great history, Hindi has great poetry and pop culture, both languages are great, both deserve respect.
let me reiterate previously i was much interested to know an ugly language called hindi, I learnt it,mastered it and now i am requesting others not to do mistake that I did, your so called hindi can only be a major cause to divide this country in future, the signs and symptoms of which have started in some parts of the country,(look at northeast.)
laugh, laugh,,,,,,,you are right, how can hindi speakers can't be so cultures ? B'coz hindi speaking peoples only use jargons like "behan chodh",'de chodh',"bos***chodh","mad***rr chodh",as a common slang,(almost2\3 peoples,& very freequently)that too ladies, and at times refering or in presence of ladies, such peoples will teach others how to develop personality, holy shittttt.what a soft pleasant, personal language.?
Thanks for the comment. At least Hindi speaking people never use this kind of language that you have used. Therefore you should examine what is that makes the Hindi people so courteous

Yes, English might be the lingua franca of the world at the moment, but;
1. Does that not give people who belong to different groups to celebrate their own language?
2. I am a native English speaker from English, but study Hindi (as well as others.)
3. The whole world doesn't speak English, look at the numbers.
