I bought this game through the Playstation Store and installed it on my PSP. I think it runs faster that way.

@bbsshawn Yup, it runs off the Memory Stick so its faster....if he had CFW on his PSP, he could dump the UMD onto his MS (or just download it, but i am sure he prefers to buy this stuff....)...ISO Tool (i think its called) allows u tot dump pretty much all PSP games right to your Memory Stic

I have buy this game again, just for the MK. mk on he go is must. i just wish umk3 was ported on here. but thats when you have homebrew psp and homwbrew emos. MKT and mk4! only thing is the sidestep feuture for mk4 takes some tricky conifguration.

@MARCES47LETIFER It doesn't matter, you should download the game on eboot and the popsloader and emulate it on the PSP. PSP can emulate PSone games, so you should be able to play MKT, MK4 and MKM:SZ (I odn't think you would like to play MK:SF, lol)

his review is just fine. don't dis this game i just bought it. u have ur own opinion, but Midway has a lot of MK fans, and they were just trying to adapt to the next gen handheld to give mk lovers a portable arcade mk experience. a few minor inconveniences but no big deal. it plays great. cut them some slack, at least they tried and they did what they could.

I think its ur stick control thats kind of bustet. It starts by locking down but when you jiggle it it works fine,,, so i think your stick is bustet and thats why it does that. If my theory is correct, it will do that down lock on all your psp games right?

When's the last time that you did an update on your PSP? I hate the PSP for my own reasons, but maybe it has to do with you using an older version of the PSP's software. That's part of what I hate so much about PSP: You get a different game play experience on certain games if you have a different software version. Nothing beats waiting for fucking software to update when all you really wanna do is play a damn game.

And I just can't find a way to hold the PSP comfortably. I hate that thing.

go to gamestop and get the Playstation Sticks/Holder for Psp. you slide your psp into it and you get the grips for the ps2. so it's like a portable ps2, because you have that controller feeling and it is more comfortable.

TMK I suggest try hacking your psp and then way you can just disable the analog...also theres way to get MKT on psp...

Downloading the PSOne version , or using Saturn emulator. The bad thing is that my favorite port is the N64 version , and n64 emulation on PSP sucks donkey balls , do you know if MKT N64 plays well emulated on PSP??

No, it's very slow. Use PSX version, it plays perfectly.

To fix the down thing, just move the analogue stick up and back, and voilá.

Flawlessly. The graphics are crystal-clear, and I think it even runs more smoothly than the arcade version, apart from the minor loading times mentioned in the review.

Or would you have to re-enter the code to play as Smoke everytime you wish to play MK3 for instance? Speaking of Smoke, I take it that the MKII cheat to fight him that involves the start button doesn't work on the PSP either for the same reason it didn't work on the PS2 version?

I notice something in the Rooftop stage in MK3, one of the skyscraper is on fire. In the Killer Instinct 2 arcade game, on T.J. Combo stage, when fighting, there is a backdrop of a ruin city with a skyscraper on fire similar to this. Since Midway produced both arcade games, I am unsure if both backdrops are the same.

classic mk games suck on psp. mk1 is the same as ps2 version - no palace gates music, slowdowns and etc. mk2 and mk3 have the horrible loading times, missing frames and music/sound issues. all of them are faster than the original arcade.

i have mat:ep and it sucks badly when it comes to the mk games.

I bought the game too, because I love Mortal Kombat... but I hated the loading times. If it were arcade perfect, there'd be no loading times, so thats why I ISO'd mine as well. Its also good for back up in case the original UMD gets trashed... like my Tekken game -_-.

How is it piracy, if I bought the disc and made my own ISO for my exclusive use, then it's not piracy.

Did you know that MK2 and 3 on the psp are not and I can't stress this enough.But they are not the actual roms but more of a port.Roms do not load like that and I know that for a fact.So other then the loading and a few other issues like morphing and some fatalites that stop and go black,this is a good on the go MK for the psp.Also,I do believe MK1 is the actual rom but I am not sure.I know MK2-3 are not.

I can tell you right now that it IS the actual Arcade roms. I know because I have looked through the code for the games and found all the service menu attributes mentioned...those are not used on any other versions except arcade. The things you are mentioning like load times are all the PSPs fault...using a CD media is slower then you have software emulating the original code...things like that cause delays and sometimes glitches.

lol I have MK2 on PSX and it plays nothing like that! For a start the music on MK2 PSX is MIDI format, this is ADPCM wave audio. Like I said I have looked through the games coding and found lines of arcade rom code most notably from the service menu. It and other than the slight loading issues, audio glitches it plays exactly like the Arcade version.
