The best? Well, IMO VH made their best music with DLR, whose singing style is much more appealing than that of SH. Sure, SH has a wider range, better control and a reasonable rock voice, but he's too polished and boring to really rock. DLR on the other hand is a great singer in his own right and his voice and attitude is perfect for the laid back, easy going, for-the-hell-of-it music that is VH's trademark!
Dave-advantages: Showman, better quality voice-reminds me a lot of Tom Jones, women like him more, strong sense of humor.
Disadvantages: Self-centered, egotistical, forgets lyrics, drunk on stage too often.
Sammy-advantages: No-nonsense SINGER, broader vocal RANGE, better suited to more serious songs (eg: Dreams, Love Walks In), got along better with the VH's.

Without Eddie Dave is a nothing. Sammy has his own thing going without Eddie before and after VH. He's also by far has a better voice. Plus hes great guitarist. Theres no question its "Sammy"

As to Yoko Hagar's guitar ability, it was redundant when you have one of the 10 greatest guitarists to ever live in the band. Unneeded.
