Most people only knew him from his movies...But if you wanted to see what a great guy he was, look at his racing. A great guy, and a helluva driver. I remember watching him at the '95 24 hrs of Daytona, and he was phenomenal.....He was also 70 years old! :)

I think Tom Hanks succeeded where Paul failed. Paul is more introspective, a little shy, and that's partly why he was so endearing. But Tom, though good looking in his own right, has really connected with people. When you see Tom, you feel like you kind of know him, and I think we do. With Paul, you don't, he has a sense of mystery to him.

I worked for Paul and Joanne 1 summer and they were hysterical.

Joanne was running late and I asked Mr. Newman if he would like to look at some samples. He said no that was Joannes

department and when it comes to picking colors she can be a real gorilla.

When Joanne arrived she apologized for being late and asked if I showed the colors to Mr. Newman. I said yes. She said what did he say. I told her he said it was her department and she can be a real gorilla.
