in your description, i would like to correct it. the 'arr. SIN @ 13:45 AM T3' it should be 01:45AM. 13:45 is a 24h clock and it is on PM. so if AM is 01:45. unless you typo. should be 13:45pm because it look bright and still have sun.. just correcting it :)
yeah its true and its sucks. I tried to book a flight to manila from london with a transit from singapore of course. It cost me £1700 and thats in february not a peak season.
It is actually one of the best cabin in the industry, especially for Economy class. nothing beats Singapore Airline. hence the endless awards for around 10 consecutive years.... :) if you been in it, you will never want to fly with other airline economy class....
Thanks for sharing. I remembered last May when I came back from my Switzerland business trip was really suffering. The moment when I step out of the airport. I can feel the hot air blowing on my face. And also the rude taxi driver. I miss the life there. Not so hot, right weather for me to stay there when I am old.
well it takes a lot and u will need up to 15 years of training starting at your local airport so u should call ur local airport and ask if they have a flight school
US Marine, can't tell you too much apart from that. Frame 03:18, you should be able to catch a glimpse of CNB on the right side, only a trained eye can tell. *hint*
the a380 has the same speed as a 744 (mach 0.85) so the flight would be the same length as others, i think a flight from LHR-SIN is around 11-12 hours?
yh 12 hours depending on air traffic at heathrow for how long you are on the ground for and i doubt there is much air traffic at singapore any was but you should fly singapore airlines a380 you will not regret it have a nice flight
i am not an airplane expert but, can someone please explain to me why the three aerilons towards the back of the wing (right after the "main flaps) sort of flap up and down constantly, it looks pretty cool... Is this to make the flight smoother? Look at 0:18 and you will see what i mean..
The ailerons control the roll of the aircraft. If the aileron(s) on the right wing go down, the lift on that wing increases and the plane banks to the right. If they go up, the lift decreases and the plane banks to the left.
The flapping up and down is common on approach and is simply as minor adjustments left and right are made to keep 'on course' with the runway.
Thanks! I thought this particular video wasn't good enough as the landing took longer than expected and I had to abandon the first part of the video. Plus, the windows on A380 were so thick that had made the shooting of taking off or landing somewhat difficult.
Its normal to start shooting a bit earlier, as u are not familiar with the approach and landmarks to this airport. Rest your elbow on the armrest and lean camera on the window pane, will get u stable frames. Good luck!
upper deck?

I've heard that the flights with A380 is more expensive than regular flights. To me it sounds like a lot off bull. But is it true?

Okay, it's big. But it's not the Concorde or anything.
I don't see the point in charging extra just because the plane is bigger than the other ones...
otoevst 2 years ago
exactly my point, LOL.
Tdoronila 2 years ago
£1700!!!??? Pounds? That's way over priced...
a380kik 2 years ago
@a380kik that's the one fault with Singapore Airlines.... the price, but the service is so good that it seems to make up for that

that is weird. the noise of the flaps retracting on the right side are less noticable then the left side compared to other A380 video.
oreoweb6 3 years ago
maybe because this video is taken from the upper deck, further away from the flap actuators?

mostly to keep the plane smooth. I think the a380 is the only plane with this feature.

Does Singapore Airlines use the A380 regularly?

SQ flies to SIN from SYD regularly, as well as SIN-LHR, SIN-NRT and most recently SIN-PEK during the Olympics.

I have some local information from regular SIA flights. You can visit Google Earth and read the markings at the touchdown end of runway. Try it!
