the highest PSI recorded for a pit bull is 235, this is lower than both Rottweilers and German Shepards. the average domestic dog has about 320 PSI

Beautiful Bulldog! The breed is not a killer. It is one of the most loyal breeds out there. Just like anything, there are good ones and bad ones. I know of many ill-tempered Cocker Spaniels that biite somewhat regularly. They just don't have the jaws of a Bulldog. Ban BSL, not the breed.

What the gentleman with the beard is saying is absolutely WRONG...a Pit Bulls jaw does not lock...the Pit Bull's Jaw the same as other canines. Their bite force is the same as other similar sized breeds. One thing he has said is correct...the Pit Bull is a dog and he is muscled..the fact of the matter is that Pit Bulls are dogs...wonderful dogs.

You can find a National Geographic vid on Youtube testing bite pressure of 3 dogs. The Pit Bull was beaten by 2 larger dogs. As for killing without warning - never happens. Some will lick the face of their owner & turn around & attack another animal without blinking an eye. But Pit Bulls are working Bulldogs, they've fought animals (not humans) for hundreds of years. Every owner should be aware of their dog's history if they own a functional working breed, it's a part of responsible ownership.

Also if its jaws can detach like this guy says, then the apbt would be a completly new species of dog. However,it is classed as a canine because structurally, its exaclty the same as another canine. some bones might be longer or shorter but there is nothing that makes the apbt drastically different from any other dog.
