The melanin pigment in our skin gives us our color,and so basically anyone with dark skin could be considered negroid. So technically you are but I am using negroid as defined above. The melanin pigment in our skin gives us our color,and so basically anyone with dark skin could be considered negroid. So technically you are but I am using negroid as defined above. Somalis are pure homo sapiens just like all other Africans as determined by geneticist. They are not mixed. They're not the only one with that facial feature in Africa. The fulanis, tutsis, turkanas, and of course the Ethiopians all share those features. All those people I mention are all haplotype E1b. The African designator. Other non-Africans have 1-4% Neanderthals DNA as per geneticist. Thus, Africans are the only pure humans on this planet.

That’s how the some small percentage of Arabs just decided to stay there and they married Somali people. Although Somalia has been colonized by the French/Italian and British, Majority of us don’t have any European blood in us. When I say Majority I mean 99 %. Finally at the end of the day, Somalis are proud East African people. Despite whatever our ancestors mixed with, we are Africans, not white or Arabs but East Africans.

@wishywashygirl19 , To answer your quastion , if we take genetic make up of somalis , they are genetically related to those in horn of africa and North African berbers as dna studies proved ... but racially ,we somalis see ouserlfs as somali,cushitic ,afroasiatic people ..black and white labels is created by white man .. and somalis dont call themselfs sucha way.. somalis are more related to egytians ethiopians,eritreans and north africans than to those of West africans and other black africans

@keysi07 Give as A break.. just swahilis by a different name,different language..a mixture of Africans and Indos,and arabs..found along the whole stretch of North to upper South East coast Africa... Fyi all in African are related in one way or another..true black/white label is a white person creation... and so are labels /creations,such as haplo-groups,subclades..divide and rule

@wachaushenzi , are you saying genetic and dna is not telling truth ... if thers some one we somalis related to its our Eritrean ,Ethiopian and Berber brothers who got same our genetical make up as ... by the way theres is diffrince between somali and swahili ..swahilis is mix of arabic and bantu , somalis are pure ancient nomadic , cushitic(afroasiatic speaking) people , who genetically diffrent than swahilis. please do your research.
