  • I'd love if Lifehouse came out and had sucess.. it had everything to be

  • Excellent version!

  • i love the song, saw the who live in pontiac in 1979 .. but 1 and 1 do in fact make 2 ...truth is truth no matter what a person believes

  • @newname363 While I see the truth in your statement I will however state that our truths may be vastly different.

  • I adore him, he is so passionate ,consummate artist. . . . . keep creating Pete- <3

  • This sorely misses Moonie.

  • I saw this show the night they weren't filming. I made a poor bootleg - but this was my favorite song from the show. I remember Pete came out to the lobby and everyone, who wanted to, got a turn to say hello and thanks.

  • This was such an amazing concert!

  • It's pretty hard NOT to like a song when the music and lyrics are so strongly, equally matched.

"Can I be matched with you again?"

    Sorry, write artist, wrong song.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • Rather distracting with the background musicians fucking off like they are...........

  • Though Pete's voice flags a little and the overall effect of the arrangment is rather ethereal (miss Keith's thundering drums!), I still like this rendition on many levels.

  • WOW I can see why this man was such a driving force for so much good no great music.

  • @hillbby

WHO ARE YOU to tell Townshend what to write about and what his songs should mean? Talk about a clueless ahole with a political agenda.

  • @SuperWhofan1 Go gag on a cock!

Townsend wrote a song that he intended the public to hear and as a member of the music listening audience I have every fucking right to post or express what I think about his fucked up song to a hairy, non producing, non laboring bum like M Baba.

  • @hillbby Nobody is supressing your stupid opinion you dumb hillybilly ahole from your trailer park!

If you don't like The Who; FUCK OFF AND GO WATCH ANOTHER VIDEO WITH CHRISTIAN ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a total loser asshole you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SuperWhofan1 U Mad, Bro??

  • The best i ever haaaaaaaaaaaaaad

  • This is an awful version as well.

  • Ethereal song but it should be about love for someone else, I don't care what Pete Townsend says, it can not be about 'finding yourself' as per an Eastern mystic navel gazing unwashed doosh.Cannot be.

  • @hillbby I think what you want to hear is "you're right". Unfortunately, the evidence has me thinking that it is absolutely a tribute to finding oneself. Pete talks at length about this song. Additionally, the cover of his FIRST solo album was a photo of Mehar Baba's face.

  • @kentuckywhip I hate Mehar Baba. What good did he do Pete anyway, he remained such an egomaniac that he ended up downloading child porn?

  • @hillbby You have a right to your opinion but it's still offensive....

  • @hillbby Good music though, ey.

  • I never realized this song would song so good when played by an orchestra - man that sounds nice!

  • This is from the Who's best album I reckon. What a top group. The Who and the Stones make me ROCK all over. Just love these legends.

  • No ... the lead guitarist is not on camera while he is playing his solos. It's annoying, bad direction.

  • @bapyou Pete is the lead guitarist. Before he started this song at the show he explained that he would play along with his original lead recording, he then switched on the recording (taken from the original album track) and counted himself in.

  • That's not explained in this clip.

  • I guess you had to be there then :-)

  • @bapyou Take your point about bad direction. they should have left Pete's explanation in the film especially as it is key to the feel and historical importance of this track.

  • Great performance, but way to black out the lead guitarist.

  • @Tranchera

hey dude, awesome video.. but can you post the video from that concert of The Song is Over, please.. it's my favorite song of all time, and i've never seen it being performed..

    thanks dude

  • I'm sorry folks, but this is all a bit sad and pointless without Daltrey and co. An amazingly powerful song is neutered by its creator.

  • i agree. pete isn't a bad singer, but this song is one of the ones that really soared because of daltrey's power.

  • Comment removed

  • You gotta be kidding! The creator is this song. You have obviously have never written or sang a song or you would appreciate this!

  • youre crazy...townshend is awesome...

  • Whoever edited this show needs to be kicked. The lead guitarist is playing his ass off and never once is he shown!

  • What video is this from....I's gotts to haves this(sic.)!

Seriously...please someone tell me. I have internet, I have credit cards, I have the will. :)

  • why are they not touring any where at the moment are they macking a new album.

  • Amazing! The Who is the best ever!

  • the best i've ever HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEARDDDD

  • Townsend kinda reminds me of Robbie Robertson. They're both the guitarist and main songwriter for their respective bands, but because they don't sing they go somewhat unnoticed.

  • Unnoticed!!!!

    Pete Townshend???

    You're having a giraffe!

Pete could never be considered as the quite guy in the corner who plays guitar and writes the songs - The Who Is Pete Townshend and The Who was the viehicle that drove his music.

  • Its hard to smash guitars in a corner haha

  • Where's Keith? Hahah I'm Joking! We love you Keith! And you too Pete

  • This is actually Baba O'Riley.

  • No dear this is Bargain

  • Hi 'dear',

bit of sarcasm there ... if you look at his Teenage Wasteland video it was full of comments like mine :P I was just having a leg pull with Tranchera, my nephew.

We're seeing the Who in April!

  • When is the next WHO tour? and where?

  • They're touring New Zealand and Australia from March 20th to April 4th. Not sure about anywhere else.

  • hey buddy.....if you didnt know....the real name to "Teenage Wasteland" is "Baba O'Riley" this song is called "Bargain"

  • Don't be silly, this is Magic Bus.

PS. See Tranchera's upload of "Teenage Wasteland" (the long, Pete Townshend version of Baba O'Riley) for why I made my original comment.

He gets a lot of idiots telling him he's misnamed it!

  • The video I've put up as Teenage Wasteland is not Baba O'Riley.

  • I was reading a review of this DVD, and it says that Love Ain't For Keeping is on it. Do you think you could upload that one please? It is my favourite song.

  • It probably is, but I don't have the DVD. :/

Most likely I have the audio of Love Ain't For Keeping... except from memory it's not even Pete singing, just the backups.

  • hmmm - it would still be nice to hear.

It is alright if you don't put it up though, no biggy

  • best music in the world!

  • absolute class !!!!!!!!! pete townshend is GOD

  • Pete,

I wish I could have been there on stage singing back ground with you, but thats the way it goes.

  • Christ!! Pete sings goood

  • Gawd, I love PETE!!! The most AMAZING musician EVER!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, all those douchebags clapping and smiling while he's performing messes up the clip for me.

  • Pete is amazing. Sometimes I think he makes things so complicated in his head. But when you cut through it, he's simply great.

  • PT is great...from the gentle thoughtful ballads, to fingernail removing windmills! If you have it, please post the version of Pure and Easy he talks about after playing Bargain. The Who forever!

  • Pete Townshend doesn't deserve praises.

    He deserves a damn monument!

  • he deserves more than a monument- no fucker is half as -interesting/musical/cool/songwriter/guitarist/prophet/timeless/ probably loads more-

so far in the history of music

  • 5/15!!!

    HAPPY WHO DAY!!!

  • Peter us the best!!!!

  • An aboslutely brilliant song!

I first heard this thanks to The Rez band, and it rocks in any version of it!

  • I don't think they are distracted, I think they're just having fun, which is great to see! Thanks for this vid.

  • those people behind him arent respecting the music they seem distracted..unfocused... i dont like it petes a titan

  • great performance

  • great clip! keith RIP

  • RIP Abe Lincoln.

One of the other few people who also wasn't in this video.

  • Keith was there at :46 lol

  • yea i see him

    XD

  • Nothing missing. Masterpiece.

  • You are F'n kidding me. Pete Rocks!

    This is amazing.

  • Did Pete use vibrato on his voice at the 2:15-2:16 point? I like it, it's different.

  • Yeah, great song ! But without Keith on the drums, there is something missing.

  • I was thinking the same. The song is still good but I miss Keith's rumbling like a steam engine on the drums.

  • Great performance- shame about the lack of percussion.

  • This is not Yokohama. This is a performance at Sadler's Wells where Pete performed all the music from Lifehouse.

  • Where's Rog when you need a good scream?

  • I dunno, I think Pete did a pretty good job of it.

  • Love this song...thnx for the great upload! Post more!

  • Those are the only two I downloaded from that performance.

  • Well, stick it to the man Tranchera...oh and keep posting these Who videos.
