My plants are real but I made the video just after I had put in new plants fresh from the shop. Those did look good for a while but now they don't anymore. I still use the orignal light but I find it too strong. Maybe to much UV in it. I have lots of algae growing. So I put floating plants on to reduce the light. That got rid of the algea but the other plants are still not doing too well. They might need CO2 or so. The hatchets and the SAE and the bristlenose have moved to another tank now.
that's a really good idea, i would have thought the filter would have destroyed them. i will have to give that a go! i certainly do have quite an algae problem myself, i'm thinking about getting an ottocinclus or two. hope the tank turns out okay with the plants. in the vid it really does look beautiful. good luck :)
I got about 30W now but I usually have like 2 13W bulbs in my 10G tanks.
Anyways you can't have live plants without algae. Your best bet is to release a tolerable breed of pest snails in your tank and let them take care of the algae. If you have hair algae you MUST USE ALGAE DESTROYER! THAT IS THE SECRET!!!
Nobody wants to admit it...
Also make sure NOT to add phosphorous but DO add potash!!! Your plants will benefit from this!
how beautiful ^^ your tank is the same as mine. at the moment i have 4 male guppies and some live plants (going to get a betta and some neons once the guppies go), but the live plants aren't doing so well. are your plants real? if so, are you still using the original light? i would lvoe to hear how the tank is going and what fish you have in there now days. i really love your tank :)
what's the name of the plants at 0.52 sec???
