30-06 puts about 25 foot-pounds into the shoulder. The .577 puts about 100. The 700, which is what the last guy fires, puts about 80 (because it's heavier).

The worst of the worst is probably the .950 JDJ, single shot bolt action. Look it up. Even weighing 100 lbs, and with a muzzle brake, it stills puts about 120 lbs into your shoulder. Without the brake, it would put 200 lbs into you and break your collarbone.

Except for the last man, they all make the common mistakes - They forget these basic rules:

1. Lean IN to the shot, not back.

2. Have the WHOLE heal of the rifle on the shoulder.

3. Stand with the "shooting shoulder" almost even with the other - NOT twisted sideways.

4. Keep FIRM contact with the rifle at the shoulder.
