dude this is damn helpful. any ideas why i am not able to install on mine. i bought mine in 2010 or 2009 i think. its says i have not enough disc space. is 60gb sufficient?
@wobblyjelly13 Most games take up between 3-8 GB of FREE Hard Drive Space. Some go as high as 30gb. If there are large programs you don't use, uninstall them. They are clogging up your system.
Hi. I recently bought arkham asylum through steam recently on my windows 7 partition on my mbp 13" but everytime i try to play it, it crashes after i press play. There was something in the display settings that was different in mine as i could not change the mult sample anti-aliasing and nvidia stereoscopic 3d setting, so i guessing windows is not picking up the nvidia 320m graphics card but idk how to fix it. Is there something i could do?
@JaymarkTech I tried the game with exactly same settings that you use and without nothing more than the game it ran like yours. The killing of the process is the amazing physx. It is sad to lose this but at least the game is running quite fast and quite beautiful. Anyways thank you!
Are you using some kind of software to overclock the GPU? Like afterburner or something to make the fans faster? Because I have the MBW with the same GPU and the game just runs totally ok in the low settings. Does the 2GB RAM makes a big difference?
@Roxxerr No I'm not making the fans any faster, but there is a way to do that thru the use of Lubbo's Macbook Fan Control. I'm not entirely sure if it will work on MBW. The extra 2GB makes a big difference for one reason: the Nvidia GPU on the MBW and 13" MBP are both integrated, meaning they share their memory with the system RAM. The more system RAM you have, the more it can allocate for the GPU memory. My MBP's GPU can use up to 2GB system memory for the GPU. It's overkill but not depleted.
@JaymarkTech That macbook pro can use more than just 256mb of gpu???, why i never heard about that???, thats really awesome, you should make a video showing that dude...
The specs listed are all standard witht he Macbook pro? And when you say "windows 7 running under bootcamp", is that a program needed to use Windows on a MAc, or do you jsut install Windows as per usual as you would on a PC on the Mac?
@dashw900i I doubt you'll notice any, really. Games are mostly handled by the graphic card and both 2010 MBP 13" versions have the same GeForce 320M. If you want to see a noticeable FPS boost, you'd have to get the 2010 15" version. If you plan to purchase this, please use the link in the video info.
@samm565 Actually I was playing Crysis mostly on High. Medium Shaders, Low Shadows, Blur off, Everything else on high. Shaders and shadow are the ones that give it the best graphic eyecandy but also what kills the fps. With my settings, it's usually a 25 average framerate.
@samm565 Still pretty impressive for an onboard GPU. Ran it almost as good as another laptop's Radeon Mobility HD 5650 1GB, though they are in the same notebookreview's "Class" range. My point is that it can run the game. Anyone looking to run this who's obsessed with framerates and high graphics quality, need not look at MBP13s, maybe the M11x by Alienware. With the settings I chose, the game still has that lush look.
@JaymarkTech it is pretty good for an intergrated GPU, its good enough i think for basic gaming, but in a year or two, games will not run on it anymore, and you cant upgrade the GPU or CPU
@samm565 True, but the beauty of a Mac is that the resell value is much higher than a similar-specced Windows laptop. A used 2008 MBP13 still sells for 800+ on auction sites. Not too shabby.
@samm565 Yeah but the rate of resell value is not proportional to the rate a Windows laptop is reduced by. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Mac fanatic. My other videos will prove that, as I reviewed and recommend Windows laptops as well. The only reason I would get a Mac now is because the Intel CPU allows BootCamp to be possible. But having a Mac after awhile really makes me appreciate the differences it has compared to Windows. I like both and prefer to benefit from each vs choosing one.
@JaymarkTech i prefer mac over windows, i think Windows is good for gaming and mac is good for everything else, also its alot harder to get viruses for mac because people dont make them as much, because windows is more popular, i think mac computers are made better, windows computers feel heavy and bulky, but macs are very nice looking, but the mac laptops have some overheating problems, which is the downside, if you look at specs though, you get a lot more for your dollar with windows computers
@samm565 Reminds me of an old analogy/joke I heard regarding Windows VS Mac security. Windows is an apartment with chains and locks in the bad part of the city, whereas Mac is an unlocked barn in the country. I agree that system horsepower isn't everything- some people want long battery life and an attractive and professional looking chassis, and some could care less and prefer the high-end chips in their system to get the most FPS for the same amount. MBPs create the balance for this dilemma.
i have the mbp early 2011 with intel hd 3000 ,8 gb ram core i5 2.3 ghz
can i run this game good?

1280x800. Go full screen, it doesn't look like high settings should because of resolution.

@ReaperXC Yes the specs listed are the standard MBP13, except for the [Added] 750GB hard drive (the standard size is 250GB).
BootCamp is a program that comes installed within OSX. You will need a Win7 DVD to install it. Watch my other video which shows how.

@JaymarkTech but blur, shaders and shadows are not on high or very high, low shadows=no shadows, unless you lower the resolution
