i am a BIG fan of disturbed. if you dont't like the band keep your bad commens, but know this. we use musik as a weapon to tell you pop fans that we love this musik and you can keep yours !!
aright ya we all know it. this pretty much sucked but the idea is great. I support covers, but of course they aren't always good. I don't like disturbed but Avarice and a few others off ten thousand fists and indestructible were sweet, but the rest are boring and in the rare cases of land of confusion and down with the sickness I absolutely can't stand them. DWtS was ok up till the ouch mommy that hurts part. anyway BFMV and Black tide cover Metallica well and disturbed was better than Kid Rock
@jennifertarbutton89 Then you must an emo girl who likes to cut herselft lol you shoudnt be even speaking to me retard of a child metalica fan boy cant appriciate anything but metalica
@jennifertarbutton89 a cover isnt an attempt at out doing the original, they cover it out of respect and because they enjoy the song, i personally prefer this one because his voice is better than james' voice IMO
bro fuck this shit i like disturbed but there stealing a song from my favorite band this doesent even sound any better. you cant beat the originals. fuck this the singing doesent even sound right. its not my problem if there running out of ides just to take from an old song is just fucked the must br really getting depsparate.
bro fuck this shit i like disturbed but there stealing a song from my favorite band this doesent even sound any better. you cant beat the originals. fuck this the singing doesent even sound right.
some bands do covers or tributes and slaughter it so bad it makes me cringe.. this however was awesome.. maybe if it wasn't so cheesy they could do a covers album.
there is also something called "youtube downloader". it is amazing. u can download any vid off youtube and convert it to mp3 or w/e! hope this is useful to u.
disturbed is one of the bands that makes kick ass covers and im sure you could agree i mean who dosent love this song coverd by disturbed but of course metallica does a better version just i like David hes got a hell of a voice
I would like this song better if it was studio. They could clean up the sound and do other things that would just make it sound better. If they did it again recently, they could probably do the guitar solo due to the fact that their guitarist has improved exponentially. They still did a good job on it though. The Metallica version is better however. Unless Disturbed did a more recent version. Then I wouldn't be sure.
From an objective point of view it´s this song sounds good. But it still remains a coverversion - too short to assess - I like Disturbed - but Metallicas original "Fade to black" is the one and only - the real one.
I don´t think that this cover comes up to the original - and James is live as good (sometimes even better) as on vinyl/cd. So I can´t accept excuses like "sounded a bit false sometimes, but it´s live so what can you do?"
I think this version is much better than Metallica's, really. And I say this not only because I'm a Disturbed fan, it's because I think they actually did it better (sounded a bit false sometimes, but it's live so what can they do?). And this is what I think, everyone doesn't need to like it just because I do.
Real good cover! land of confusion & shout are also great covers from disturbed. it shows their talent to do other stuff than just their own and make it sound just as good if not better than the original but with their own unuiqe twist to it. 5* Great song!!!!
i may not even have a decade of experience with music but im only 16 so am i expected to have alot of experience? i know enough about music considering my age. and seriously "gramps" shows how much you know.
dude they did good. though i dont like that they cut out the solo its pretty good i love metallica and disturbed and i say they did a great job covering this song
OH MY GOD!!! I found an intelligent person ^_^ I like you. I agree to disagree cuz thats what civilized people do. Im so happy youre not like 90% of the people who just sit there and whine like a broken record.
i agree, metallica and distubed are some of my fav bands, disturbed did a great job, too bad the end is cut out ay, but other then that its the best cover of this song ive heard
I love Disturbed but....I lose a LOT of respect for them when I heard this. The most powerful part of the song is simply left out...not good enough to play it perhaps?
this is a good song and a good cover my only problem with it is that they didnt include the hevyer part at the end. the song just isnt finished without it
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
its a weaker version of the original with softer guitars, a diminished bass line and mostly flat delivery in the singing missing the edgy nuances Hatfield puts in the original. this is a song of true anguish and despair not an emo ballad sung to your sister. also, where is the rest of the song? they end just when it gets heavy. hmmm.
definitely dont see how they made it their own. it's virtually identical in every way.
lol its funny how u think u kno so much...yet you cant even spell HETFIELD right....its just the fact its disturbed doing it...so if you dont like it then dont listen to it...simple
my two favorite bands doing one favorite song gotta love it! diturbed did an awsome job too who knew his voice was that good! I'm used to him screaming...lol
Disturbed is awesome with taking an older song and making it sound like theirs. Take Shout 2000 and Land of Confusion for instance. They both sound better than the original!
I don't need to. I own Dawn of the Dead, and have seen it at least a dozen times. The version they play during the movie is not an original Down with the Sickness, and Disturbed's version was most likely released much earlier, being officially released on The Sickness in 2000.

@CheeriosMcNally Bands play other artist stuff all the time.
Metallica themselves plays a shit load of diamond head and other bands. Look at their cover album "Garage inc."
Anthrax covers metallica all the time. Its showing appreciation to their influences.
