  • I really don't have a problem with auto tune, I just don't like how they make thier voices like robots.

  • You talk too much with little interest and no result.

You should have stayed working at Wall Mart.

  • What do you use this plugin with?

  • @92JamzC fruity loops studio, or cubase or any other sort of music creation software

  • WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO YOU MAN?!!! HAHAHA YOU SHARED HOW TO USE THE AUTOTUNE AND NOW LOOK PEOPLE USED THIS AND GOT MORE POPULAR THAN YOU. YOU GUYS ARE SHAME BECAUSE THESE THINGS ARE TOOLS WHICH WE ARE NOT TO SHOW TO THE WORLD!!!!

  • It doesn't work with Ableton 8.

  • Gsnap actually works fairly well. Actually, most all of the GVST plugins are cool... ggrain, gchorus, ggate, etc...

  • you rock dude... at least it isnt that antares 10 day trial shit.

  • this your boy dg n dam the dillie bass gonn i need that

  • I have all kinds of auto tune vsts. I keep forgeting to use them . I guess I have good pitch. I would use it maby for effect.

  • so your saying artists cant sing or hold a note ?, well your wrong! EVERY SINGLE released song with vocals in today uses Autotune even by the best singers in the world,, beacuse studio time is very expensive and this saves a lot of time and achives 100% perfection, the standards are so high in production nowerdays it is essential every note is pitch perfect, and its also used as an effect to make certain vocals sound more interesting,, you guys complaning have probably never been in a studio!

  • @Rockysbeats ^^that comment is for the complaners not the user^^

  • Seriously if there would be autotune there wouldnt be much singers in the world

  • NO MORE AUTOTUNE PEOPLE...#THEPANDEMIC IS COMING...SPREAD THE WORD!

  • @ThePandemicVEVO lmfao!

  • I have tried it but I cant seem to get it right, its got settings like detection: mini freq max freq, gate, speed. correction: Threshold, amount, attack and release. midi: Pitch bend, vibrato, vib speed, and calibrate. have not a clue what to set these to, but I will do some test and see what I can find

  • does mixcraft only work on mac, infact does the autotune effect only work on mac

  • @KazCrud no

  • @kretinlavar ok thanks

  • All the comments are about you all arguing about your fucking oppions. I wanted to get feed back about the website. The comments have nothing to do with the base of the video which was the free... again FREE...Vst plug-in. How can anyone be mad at technology that makes you better at what you do? If you dont like it dont listen and dont use it. But for me doing productions, its just another weapon in the arsenal.

  • everyone has the right to make themselves the person they want to be, thats why this is america you know? so if you need an autotune or any other type of device to make yourself sound better, thats fine by me! just because we cant be born with a beautiful voice doesnt mean we cant ever sing!

  • @Dannyb1022 tru dat

  • @Dannyb1022 I don't mind autotune for a little bit of pitch correction here and there, but it's used extremely excessively by most pop artists. It's just ridiculous, and frankly I find it disturbing that most people don't see why this is a problem.

  • @ryanmshepard92 everything gets overused when it first comes out... think about it... autotune is just another fad that will eventually be replaced by the next big thing

  • @Dannyb1022 Maybe, but the purpose of autotune is pitch correction. I don't think it's just a "fad" like Silly Bandz, it's technological progress. Eventually, it will be replaced by even better technology, so you do have a point.

But my complaint with autotune is that people use it so frequently, it completely removes all of the talent in their voice. Nowadays, a lot people don't write, play, or even sing their own music because of this technology. And yet they make millions. Sickening.

  • @ryanmshepard92 My whole point though is that anyone can do it now. You dont have to be born with the voice, you can now create the voice thats pleasing to ears that some people are born with. Music doesnt have to be limited now to only good-great singers, any average joe can make a hit song if they please. And THAT is the american dream, to do anything you want to do.

  • @Dannyb1022 i agree, but only if it's to give your voice an awesome effect! lol, trying to pretend you can sing without actually being able to is wrong. >~< but autotune rocks for nu-metal stuff.

  • @Dannyb1022

but that's the point of the ability to sing >.> autotune is a cheat. That's like saying people who cant jump high and have a spring like device to make them jump high so now they can play basket ball, or a small person can use steroids so they can keep up with naturally stronger people. I agree not everyone is born with a angelic voice, but that's what hard work and dedication is for. Auto tune is crap. Its cheating real singers of a talent.

  • @Choukorabu you can practice baseball and pump iron and actually have a chance to be a pro baseball player... but you cant practice singing and use some kind of vocal strengthening device to sound as good as some professional singers are, the best you can do is become slightly better

but anyway, music is not a contest of who can sing the best, its about what group can play the best. autotune is just simply an enhancement to a song... like using different types of golf clubs to get better shots

  • @Dannyb1022

Actually, that's not how singing works. To sing well is a matter of control. Its how the air flows through your body. Most people have an average ability to sing, and if mastered the technique of singing, it's not that difficult to be an above average vocalist. I can say this with confidence because I'm a music major with emphasis on vocals. And to the club comparison, yes its enhancement, but clubs doesn't make give the ability to play golf. You still have to practice.

  • @Choukorabu

I agree, the way autotune is used nowa-days is CRAP... I thought it was ok when T-pain first came out with that "sprong" song but now it seems like non-talented people and their desire to make "music" has destroy Radio (pop/hiphop). But what people don't know nor care to understand is that autotune is a plug-in that is and has been used in most cd's just not set so drastically, when most people think of autotune they think of Tpain it's not like that, it's NOT ALWAY a bad thing

  • @Dsynthsounds

Agreed. I know music editing has been used for years and auto tune was in use before Tpain popularized that, but you already adressed my qualm. Autotune should be used for an effect, not a crutch for lack of singing ability. Which is what recent artist use it these days. I don't have a problem with autotune by itself. I admit its a cool tool. Its just been abused by too many people >.>

  • does anyone kno how to install any of those effects from that website? help plz

  • @Dannyb1022 People like you make me want to eat a koala bear. THIS IS NOT AMERICA, you fucking retard. This is the internet, the internet is not America.

Why waste valuable bandwidth on things like "the internet is america we r impurtant hurr"

  • @RageQuitProDuckshuns When I say "this" I dont mean the internet, I mean where I am currently located, so if the comment doesnt apply to you, fuck off and dont respond kthxbye =)

  • @Dannyb1022 And when i say retard, I mean go back to Learning Support you sped

  • @Dannyb1022 im proof that you can learn how to sing. some people are born with it but all can obtain it. i do love autotune though

  • @Jonathontheone how many fans do you have, not counting your shower?

  • @Dannyb1022 well my shower is a very big fan. but i take vocal lessons and i sing for the school beta club. our school goes to nationals every year too.

  • @Dannyb1022

have you ever heard of singing lessons though? Things like auto tune just keep people from really achieving their own greatness and their true vocal ability. Its like medication.... It takes away the symptom but it doesn't cure you

  • @martinhozinho Auto tune is actually a really nice tool to have sometimes after cutting 5 or 6 vocal tracks you have one or two you really like but they are a little flat or a line or two got away from you its nice to have the option of salvaging those tracks and moving on with the project also 2 things to remember here Studio time aint cheap and auto tune wont make a shitty singer sound like a pro it will only make them a little less shitty

  • @klbax63 Sorry I was actually talking about Pitch correction I hate that auto tune shit its a terrible sounding effect not really sure how it caught on so well sounds cheesy and robotic to me

  • @Dannyb1022 autotune is an exucuse to take the short way out, most great singers work for that voice. if you wanna sing go in to vocal coaching or something

  • @paboy4 no, most great singers are born great, and just take coaching to make themselves even better

you can not go from crappy to great, that step wont happen

  • @Dannyb1022 anything is possible, my cousin use to be a very horrible singer couldnt hit a note, his been in vocal lessons for 2 years now and is a pretty decent singer now. anything in life can be in the grasp of your hands you just got to work hard for it. so yes crappy to great can happen

  • @Dannyb1022 but what's the point in putting hard work into singing lessons - and indeed, what's the point of talent?

If using autotune in a professional production that you are paid for, and which in some cases makes you world famous is all well, fair and wonderful, then I wanna do the Tour de France on a motorbike.

  • @springplus300 it might be true that you are paying for the software, but at least they don't use autotune when singing live. If they can't sing, they either sound terrible or they lip-synch (neither a good look).

Lady Gaga uses autotune but she sounds great live so the singing lessons certainly do pay off.

As for talent, I'd say that someone is talented if they can write a good song, but if all you do is sing songs people tell you to sing, what difference is autotune going to make?

  • @omnipossum92 True enough - and I might have been a bit rough. But essentially, I don't think it belongs anywhere except as an effect (think ala. Cher). As pure tone correction I think it's wrong due to several things. The first one i already outlined. The second is that I just don't see music as something clinic and perfect. Why would a good singer use software to correct their voice?

  • @springplus300 Even the best singers sing differently each time. Not necessarily bad, but the record companies, for some reason, want it to be clean. I see music as similar to food. My food tech teacher was talking about the new silicone cook ware which lets you make a cake which is evenly cooked to perfection, but he said the metal cake tins give more of a home-made taste. It has more variety in it's texture and flavour. People just have been going for things that are consistent.

  • @omnipossum92 I absolutely get your point, though it doesn't apply to all record companies and indeed, not all genres (as a general rule - I'm sure there are a million exceptions).

And I suppose I would just prefer my music to have that homemade taste. Most of the time anyway. Because just like cake, it loses some of it's flavour, and with me being all into lyrics - at least as much as the "music", flavour, or "feel" or whatever one wants to call it, is quite important.

  • @Dannyb1022 Very few people are "born" with a beautiful singing voice. That's why they start out with lessons and put in hours upon hours of practice, developing perfect pitch. Using pitch correction software is a cheap shortcut.

  • @2xN you can't tell me there's anybody out there using pitch correction software to correct the pitch of their voice (well, maybe some dumbasses are). It's more used as an effect

  • @nervmichnich Please read the comment I replied to (it's currently in the highest rated section) to get where I was coming from.

  • @2xN Please read the comment you replied to, then your comment, then my comment which is actually a reply to your comment and the comment you replied to... and then the comment you're actually reading in case you forgot in which order you have to read the comments.

  • @nervmichnich And then what?

  • y would u upload/recommend a VST plugin you have never tried?

  • is this availible in RTAS for my protools?

  • its a virus

  • it's a fake it's just a virus..don't do it

  • gsnap is shit! i have buy the antares autotune! its th best!

  • @MysteryAmMontag nigga i got it for free

  • Tried it.

    Didn't work :(

    I didn't get a virus though...but maybe that's just because it wouldn't work...

All I wanna do is autotune ppl just for shit and giggle, but no! I have no $ or reliable sources :((((

  • thanks

  • It a fluke.

  • Thanks for posting this Vid, it helped in my net search for a free alternative.

  • 1. This plugin works great. The GUI is pretty easy. You just need to know what key you're singing it, and a scale. I usually use the key letter and major or minor.

    2. Vocoder and Autotune is not nearly the same thing. Totally different so read up on it.

    3. Autotune's an effect, and does not necessarily indicate one cannot sing. It has a pleasurable sound to the ear, people can use it in an extreme way or a subtle way. I can bet that someone you think is an amazing singer, has used pitch correct

  • yh... uhm GSnap is crap just get autotune lol iht's WAY better

  • autotune is gay , use a vocoder

  • @iggyds89 lol vocoders are generic autotunes aha GSnap is wack i tried it a long time ago yu cant do much with it but yeah autotune is ral good kcuz yu dnt even have to do the t Pain effect with autotune yu can just make yur voice sound better aha

  • @AnEwBeGgInNiNg man just learn to sing right, or don't sing at all , fuck this fake shit.

also why the fuck t-pain , roger throutman was one of the first to make the robot voice sound popular.

  • @iggyds89 Um no....Actually it was Cher....But whatever!

  • @wiccaboy52 i said one of the first .... ONE of the first .

    not the first.

and i think the guy who invented it made the first music with it.

    seems logical

  • its pretty funny most of these pop/rap singers cant hold a key so they need this pitch correction bullshit. pathetic, u ppl need to appreciate some real singers

  • @nardulli22 it's not always about being not able to sing correctly... many artist use this just to experiment with the typical sound of autotune. but in a way you're right, yeah

  • @nardulli22 Well it's not just for pop/rap singers.. pitch correction is very useful in vocal harmonies like backing vocals, because if you have 4 or more voices, it only sounds good if they're almost perfect pitch. The correction doesn't have to be 100%, I like to correct it just 30-40%.

  • @nardulli22 actually, i'v heard t-pain sing without it and he's badass singer, i don't like rap or anything and in fact my favorite band is Jars of Clay lulz, but rapers only do it because it sounds epic so stop hating on everyone troll

  • @FURRYDulaman actually, its all fake shit. so go appreciate some real TALENT and we'll talk. fuckin douche

  • @nardulli22 no it's not fake, he's sung like on the streets and stuff with no mics at all he can sing like nobodies business, i haven't even listened to one of t-pains songs i hate that kind of music i listen to Jars of Clay lol now THERE'S talent. So just stop trolling someone, just because he can sing 20x better than YOU doesn't give u the right to get all pissed when people realise it. any comments from you im deleteing and not reading.

  • @FURRYDulaman You do know that most rappers dont even know what the "streets" look like right? Most of them grew up in great lifes, just because they rap about it doesnt make it true...

  • Comment removed

  • @FURRYDulaman can crap my implying?

  • @trevorhirby misstype xD

  • @FURRYDulaman

why do RAPERS use it? ;D

  • @shenkiin Rapers, use knives and guns, masks and gloves, or their bare hands to sexually assault women. Rappers, however, use autotune. Some of them.

  • @thinsoldier That's the joke, read the comment of the guy I wrote my comment to before you start talking shit.

Quote: RAPERS only do it because it sounds epic so stop hating on everyone troll

Me: Why do RAPERS use it?

You: Trying to be funny here, gimme attention.

  • @shenkiin haHA, Ahh, and funny it is, sorry i didn't bother to click through the comments first, lol my apologies

  • @thinsoldier

I kinda lol'd at the other guy also :p

  • @shenkiin haha. i am SO not a RAPER! i think you mean rapper.

  • @iQuikshot Then why did you type raper?

  • @thinsoldier *Rappers" use knives and guns and ridiculous fake jewelry :)

  • @nardulli22 using a pitch corrector doesn't mean they aren't real singers, nor does it mean they can't hold key. most pop/rap singers can sing, they just like to use the effect because it sounds good. same reason a guitar player uses pedals. so, with all due respect, you need to appreciate musical, especially vocal, innovation.

  • @nardulli22

nobody lets a song out of a studio without some kind of pitch correction....but when its used the right way you cant hear it...so dont call it bullshit...cause your fav. singer might be using it...

  • @1DIGITALmagik

Finally someone with some knowledge.... lol... that something most people just want to understand. When autotune is used correctly you can't even notice that it's being used until you remove it.

  • @1DIGITALmagik Actually no, my favorite singers actually learned how to sing and do not use this overproduced auto tune crap. So until you have credible references to cite, dont blather on about shit you dont even know.

  • @nardulli22

the greatest singers in the world use pitch correction...you dont use it to make you a better singer...you dont use it to make you a singer...you use to it smooth out raw notes...unless the only thing you listen to is hard rock....then you hear pitch coerrection all the time...you just dont know it

  • @nardulli22

It's pretty funny, how you fail to acknowledge that plenty of rock/metal/indie bands do the same thing, just not as obviously. Cubase, and all these other big time recording software programs all have pitch correction.

  • @nardulli22 omg i was telling my wife the samething

  • @nardulli22 Hey now, they're not the only ones who use it. I agree regarding artists who use it as a crutch, but some artists use it for other things. Look up "Woods" by Bon Iver, then look up any other song of theirs. They can definitely hold a pitch

  • @nardulli22 I secobd that. Though on the other hand, you can use it to create harmonies in different pitches using the same source track.

  • @nardulli22 To be honest man, autotune is really popular in electronic music that isnt vocal based, such as dubstep, so it's usefull for more then you think :)

  • ThanXs Bro !

  • @log007 mine didn't lol maybe your computer has down syndrome lol

  • @log007 AAAHHHHHHHHHHH

  • gsnap is good for free autotune its good enough for me makes me sound like tpain OH YA

  • does not work on cubase nuendo 4

  • It worked for me! Thatnks!

  • My friend recorded his voice, and the autotuner tried correcting his voice, but he was so bad that the thing put his voice on all the WRONG notes XD

  • Comment removed

  • funny comming from diamonddust22...ha you dont have one upload!! lets hear you sing!

  • @Tipsy Funny thing is I have a myspace site and I don't use any pitch correction or auto tune. You know why? Cause I learned to sing. Secondly, I will be uploading all my songs with videos to You Tube under a different account. Thirdly anyone who tried to justify using auto tune is fucking cheesy as shit. Auto is a for people who can't sing and have run out of ideas of their own. You can tell a talentless idiot when then give you a thumbs down. A thumbs down on me is an admission of guilt
