Great performance from classic singer who is so under-rated and overlooked yet an all-time great...also released on the fine & mesmerizing "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life" from the early 70's crying out to be released on CD with "A Song For You" (definitive performance of Leon Russell's classic) as a bonus track which came out at the same time...Bravo JP!!!
Yes, the reason that I said about "I Thought..." is that there's always been an underlying pathos in her voice that comes out in "I Took..." suggesting an early childhood trauma, perhaps, the death of a beloved pet, that carried over into her adulthood. Morgan's style is, like Billie and D. Washington, among others, one that can stand the test of time. Yes, there's still a lot of melancholy in the world. Thanks, Morgan, for helping to cope.

One of my favorites sung by one of my favorites. I've always thought Morgan would feel quite at home with Billie Holiday's "I Thought About You."
