@shyarkugan u have to put the cables into the dvd recorder and need to run output cables from the dvd recrder to ur tv. I recommend a DVDRW disc because you can delete files from the disc and use again..
@SmashBrosWii1 This one I got was about $150 dollars, but I got it a while ago so the price on it's probably down. If you check Amazon, they usually have the best prices.
i think , easycap is easier to use , because you can record the video from your computer , but i have an hdtv with my ps3 , so i can't record videos , but i don't change the wires , they could break
Yeah, at the time I had an SDTV, it could only go as high as 480i, I have an HDTV now, but this recorder doesnt take HD inputs, so the quality would still be the same.
kyoslicer, can you really help me please, I've got a philips dvd recorder look similar to yours my question is how do I record my xbox 360 footage? Thanks in advance
I don't know if there exists a DVD recorder that has an HDMI input, but I know some accept component video cables. As far as I know I think the highest resolution a basic DVD recorder can receive is 720p or 1080i when using component cables.
The DVD recorder I have is called the "Magnavox ZC352MW8" and the program I use to rip the footage is called "WM converter" It' sounds generic but it does wonders if you're using the right settings, and it's free. i hope this helped.
It depends on what file format. I think Mp4s and FLV files upload faster, but really all videos take a while to upload. What size and length is the video you're referring to?
I converted it using a program called WM converter. It sounds generic, but it does wonders. I set the format to WMV and set the video bit rate to 3000 kbps with 640x360 res for widescreen, of coarse you can set it to how you prefer as well.
I depends on the file size. if its 2 GB it will take forever ( since youtube dont accept the size) try lleaving the computer for 1 hour while it uploads it should do it. :D
I don't suppose if you'd know whether the Dazzle DVD Recorder has quality as good as the video shown here, would you? I checked up on the exact model you said you were using and it costs over $100, and I find that a bit steep.
The Dazzle will most likely have way better quality since there wont be a whole lot of converting from DVD to Mp4 (or whatever other format). The problem with dazzle I heard was that it had frame rate issues and compatibility problems with vista. I think it works well with XP though.
It's not so much problems with the footage itself its while your recording. Pretty much the preview window. Thats why people use a composite video splitter to play the game on their own TV and record the footage to their PC.
my footage isn't all that good, well maybe it's cuz i don't have a good dvd recorder. lol. about that lag thing, i haven't experienced lag on some games, but on some other games *cough* Rock Band 2 *cough* i experienced HORRIBLE LAG!!!! Well only 5 secs late. Just warning others that some dvd recorders give lag, and some don't.
I plugged the composite cables into the DVD recorder, then I recorded the footage to a DVD+R. Once I finished I finalized it and then converted it to a WMV file using a program called WM converter.
I personally experienced no lag, and I doubt anyone else would either. The only issue you might encounter is floating pixels or sluggish frame rates, but thats of course if you don't rip the footage properly.
After you recorded the footage did you finalize it in the DVD recorder. If your using a DVD RW you won't need to, but if your using a DVD R then your going to need to finalize it before trying to rip it onto your computer. Sorry I took so long to respond.
Well of course it's different for all DVD recorders. But I'm sure the settings are the same. You go to setup or settings on your DVD recorders interface, and look for disk edit or edit options or anything similar. There will be an option to finalize, format, label, or something to that nature. You want to select finalize. If you can't find it, your instruction manual should tell you. Just lookup Finalize in the index.
I used a program called WM converter. The quality wont be that great, but its uploadable for youtube. I would recommend Magic DVD ripper if you want to focus on quality.
I'm trying to set up my xbox 360 with my Pioneer DVD recorder and according to your earlier comment, I have everything hooked up right, but, nothing shows up. The DVD Recording menu shows up, but I can't see the game. It's just a black screen and you can hear white noise. I don't know how to fix this. Maybe you know?
You say you hear white Noise. I can probably thing of maybe two things. either the connections are wrong or their may be some defectiveness. Have you plugged in the composite (Yellow White and Red) from your system into the video Inputs on your DVD recorder, and then have an additional composite cable running from the output of your DVD recorder to the input of your TV?
The DVD recorder is easy to setup. It's not exactly something you hook up to the computer its just a DVD recorder It depends on the DVD ripping software you get, because they don't go directly to the harddrive of the PC they are burnt to DVD disks. You have to rip them later on. In your case it wouldnt come with everything. You would need the DVD ripper, rewritable DVD disks and a good converter, One that will convert .VOB files
I found a good one for free. Its called Free DVD ripper. It does wonders. The only draw back is that sometimes the outlines on the video subjects will separate (I dont know the scientific term for it). Its doesnt kill the quality tho. I now use Free DVD ripper. If you wont more convenience I would suggest you invest in the Dazzle DVD recorder for the PC. Its cheaper and less hassle.
you can hook up your consoles Composite cables to your recorder than hook up your recorder to your TV with that single set of composite cables(the red, white, and yellow cables) I hope that answers your question.
Hey! I was wondering..I am going to be getting a dvd recorder to record my xbox 360 gameplay and I was wondering if you can edit the video after you put it onto your computer. please comment back!
yea, you can record anything that plugs into the recorder, as for editing, your going to have to convert the VOB file after copy the footage to the PC, finding a good converter is a problem, you might end up buying one if you can't find a good free one.
by that I mean its just a DVD recorder, no built in VCR, just composite and S video inputs. So you can plug up consoles and Cameras and any other device that use Composite Cables or S video cables.
Ahh, I see. I was the same way for a while, you'll get use to it real quick. People say the 360 is only home to FPS games and hardcore stuff, although thats mostly true, there are other games on that system that appeal to other genres like RPGs and adventure and stuff.
It depends on the type of games you like to play. If you go to like Gametrailers or IGN, you can see the different types of games they have for each system. I personally enjoy them both.
