Windows 7 "Aero Shake" Demo

As someone who recently made the transition from Vista x86 to Win7 x64... I didn't realize what I'd been missing. On the surface it looks very similar to Vista, and indeed some of 7 is inherited from Vista, but 7 is truly much more refined, and very stable. Features galore in Ultimate, including XP mode which has come in handy for some of my older programs/games. I also deal quite a bit with network printers, and vista SUCKED with network/shared printers.

I mostly run my games through a program called "Steam".

Windows 7 absolutely flies when playing higher - end games like fallout 3 and crisis.

Unfortunately windows 7 is not avaliable as an upgrade from XP.

You would have to save all your documents to a CD then reformat your hard drive.

You don't need vista to get windows 7, you can just by the windows 7 disc and install it.

No, Vista doesn't suck. Everyone who says that hasn't used Vista correctly. I use Vista every single day for many different things and it is much better than XP. Don't get me wrong, Xp was a very good OS, but lets face it, it had flaws. Vista fixed those, but made some of its own. 7 so far looks fantastic. Will be getting it when i go to college!

You'll get better performance and new way to interact with the computer. Especially when touch screens are more mainstream.

I like Vista and i like how it doesnt slow down when you fill it up with programs. I still use XP and this is a big problem.

Vista uses more resources to start with but i have the computing power to handle it.

Windows 7 on the other hand uses less resources, and like Vista will not slow down. Its definitely the way to go.

I am using ubuntu and windows 7 in one computer and osx in another one. By the way I get Vista for free and I will be getting Windows 7 final for free also.

How well many universities have partnership with M$. This means that students can pick up a free version of any M$ OS.

I used linux. Bad driver support and barely no good software even with those little emulators such as wine. Terrible for gaming as well, and unusable for most job professions. I rather have an all in one OS like windows. It might be slower but it can do everything i want it too. After using Windows 7, i can say it's amazingly faster than previous versions especially in boot up and start up. I experienced no crashes even as a beta so you clearly don't know a thing.

Yes, the driver suport and Windows software compatibility are the weak points of linux. But wich linux did you use? Linux'es like Ubuntu, Slackware and so on are doing very well at these points. And another thing.... On other points Windows doesn't Own. Like the new Ubuntu 9.04 will start up under 7 seconds!

And no viruses, no disc fragmentation, no register, no corrupt Company and it's free. What do we want more?

on os x and linux you dont have to worry about "speed." Everything is realtime. you also can find a bunch of free software, unlike windows. ive noticed that windows takes longer to load windows than os x, while os x has animations when opening them. also, on os x i havent been needing to install any of those "bleh" drivers. and how do you get white balance on the screen on windows? you cant. os x only. i just need a few adobe apps and final cut, plus office, all supported on mac.

Really? That was the thing that i noticed was slow on a Mac. Common things like the internet star slower for me than on a PC mainly because Vista has superfetch. I have done speed tests with Windows and OS X and Windows opens Microsoft word 2007 about 10x faster than both Pages and Word for Mac. Windows has the most available freeware because they hold the most developers. This is already fact. Drivers? OS X has to install drivers too...and i dont really care about white balance.

If you are doing design work you probably aren't using integrated graphics but rather an intermediate graphics card. Both ATI/AMD and Nvidia provide white balance support within their drivers under the graphics settings menu. Even the Intel integrated graphics systems have provided white balance options in their setting for a few years now so I don't know what you are talking about.
