I LOVE YOU, LAURA! You seem so sweet and bubbly and happy, it's as if no one can be sad when they're with you. And your recipes - MAMA MIA! I also love your way of doing your videos, always tasting the food and really showing and describing the consistensy. I think that you are this popular because you really show us how PASSIONATE you are about cooking. I really love that. You're my favorite cook, not just on YouTube, but in the entire world! <3
Hi laura my name is jennifer I just wanna tell u that I am a big fan of yours your cooking is amazing ever since I watched your videos I became a good cook I am married with 3 children and we all love your recipes ...thank u so much .......ps. Before I watched your videos I asked god to led me for some good restrant recipes and he led me to u thank u so much ....keep them coming....
I made this for dinner along with the vanilla cupcakes and raspberry frosting for dessert! My family loved the dish! I will for sure not have leftovers.
The crushed tomatoes look like tomato puree? Is that what it is? Might be a dumb question but I ask because here in oz we actually have a can of crushed tomatoes at the super market or tomato puree. Not sure what to choose :S
Just made this for my husband as part of his birthday dinner and it was delicious! Just the right level of flavor; this will make anyone happy! My husband said it reminded him of a similar pasta dish he ordered in Rome during our honeymoon, so that can't be bad!:D
You are absolutely amazing!!!!! I am a newlywed and non-cooker. Im only able to make a few things and Ive been making them over and over again. But thanks to you and your simple simple recipes I was able to surprise my husband with an awesome Penne Vodka dish. Thanks so much for helping me to learn how to cook!!!!
The one person that disliked this video drank the vodka and got drunk. when he came back to hit the like button he miss clicked and fell off his chair. the bottle of vodka then hit him in the head and he passed out. This is the story of the one dislike!
You're usually very lenient about letting your viewers substitute ingredients or cook things a little differently, but in all of your videos you're very adamant about how the pasta has to be al dente. I like my pasta a little more tender :(
Laura, I made this today and it was outstanding! I compared you're recipe to the one on Oprah's where they used more vodka and cream and didn't cook as long and used chicken stock. I made your's exactly as stated and used the cooking times and it was the greatest thing I've tasted in a while and yes I bought the $15 imported cheese makes the difference & good vodka, grey goose Thank you so much for sharing-really appreciate it
@lifeofear when I made mine it tasted more like a sweet tomato basil soup prior to putting the cream in it and after the cream and the basil and the real good imported cheese it was restaurant quality. I used grey goose vodka, good pasta, Gia's Italian tomatos, a good pasta and shallots, it tastes nothing like spaghetti... u did something wrong
Thank You So Much! I love your videos. I am a 32 year old male and I just started cooking again because of you. My girlfriend loves the penne vodka. Please keep the videos coming...
@lauramurphy95 Just like beer battered corn dogs or something like that, this dish is safe, The amount of alcohol is not really relevant, since the alcohol is evaporated/cooked out.
these are the ingredients, for those who cant find it on the website : 2 tbsp Olive Oil 1 small Onion, finely chopped 2 cloves of Garlic, minced A pinch of Hot Pepper Flakes 1 tsp Dried Oregano ½ cup of Vodka 1 28 oz can of Italian Crushed Tomatoes ½ cup of Heavy Cream Fresh Basil ¼ cup fresh grated Parmiggiano Reggiano Salt and Pepper to taste 1 pound of uncooked Penne pasta
Ahh, I've had this in a restaurant once! It was really, very delicious and this looks exactly like it (though by now I trust you and recipes to be delicious always :) ). I'm definitely going to try this out; or make my parents try it out, haha. I can't wait, I can almost smell it from behind my screen!
I encourage EVERYONE to make this! It was fast and easy. It tasted great as leftovers the next day.Even if you don't have the cream, the plain tomato sauce is so yummy with some crunchy bread.
@lizsy775 I had a hard time finding it too, but it is in the specialty section in the bigger grocery stores, it sells for about 15.00 per pound and it is tightly wrapped up, it took ten mins for me to decide if I would pay that much not knowing how good it would be and I'm glad I spent the money, well worth it, google it Parmigiano-Reggiano
You are impressive and i enjoy the videos:) Thanks so much for this nice penne vodka! I made your chicken cutlets with thyme and prosciutto and reggiano... Delicious:)) I didnt have the nice arugala, but made do with romaine! Thanks!
hey!! I love ur channel, i made the mashed potatoes for the 4th time today, love it!! I have a question, what is the exact diffrence between olive oil and extra virgin olive oil??Thanks!
@LauraVitalesKitchen Thank you for your reply. I found it when I used a windows computer. I personally have a mac and still cannot see the recipe even though I cleared my history. Can't wait to try this recipe tonight!

To those quite silly people who ask the substitution for vodka:
The name of the dish is "Penne VODKA". How can you make "Penne Vodka" without Vodka??
It's just like asking: How can I make Cheesecake without Cheese?

@TheAAA2323 idk if someone responded to you, but the vodka cooks out of the sauce. the flavor stays, the alcohol goes.

@AVENGEDxFURY I know but the problem is that where i live, they don't sell alcohol.

@TheAAA2323 my mom leaves it out and you can't taste the difference. The vodka also cooks down so you don't get the taste!

@jackyfanatic it's ok to put vodka in because the alcohol in it evaporates there for it's just there for flavor!
